A retired employee of the Catholic Diocese of Baton Rouge, she died at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2002, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Mid City. She was a resident and native of Baton Rouge. Visiting at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 185 Eddie Robinson, Sr. Drive, from 5 p.m. Monday until religious service at 8 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Charles T. Smith. Dismissal at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. Interment in Gilbert Memorial Park. Survived by a daughter, Jacqueline B. Boyd and husband, Stephen; three sons, Willie T. Lavergne and wife, Bernice and Benny B. Beshears, all of Baton Rouge, and Carl J. Johnson, Sr. and wife, Deborah of Frankfort, Ill.; eight grandchildren, Travis J. Lavergne, Keisha L., Carl, Jr. and Tracy Johnson, Tori D., Kelli B. and Hayli A. Boyd and Benny D. Booker; a brother, Eugene Angrum of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a sister-in-law, Louise Angrum of Jamaica, N.Y.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Beshears; parents, Charlie and Lydia Angrum; four sisters, Dot Pitcher, Evelyn Severan, Lillie Johnson and Lucy Pitcher; five brothers, Allen, Steve, Gus, Frank and Johnny Angrum; four brothers-in-law and five sisters-in-law.

DAVIS, MILLEGENE B.
Died at 11:10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, 2002, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center.
Arrangements are pending at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd.

HARDING, JR. SAMUEL
Samuel Harding, Jr., a man of indomitable faith, a man of strength, courage and love, was born on Sept. 28, 1919, in White Castle to the union of Samuel Harding, Sr. and Ernestine Harding. He departed this life with the peace of God that surpasses all understanding on Friday, Nov. 1, 2002, at his residence in New Orleans. He was the beloved husband of Jennie Harding and together they were blessed with 10 children. He was a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather and touched each life that he encountered with Christian love. He was a faithful usher and member of Beulah Land Baptist Church. He retired from Westvaco after 30 years of service. He served in World War II in Company "D," 784th Tank Battalion. He leaves to cherish his precious memory five daughters and two sons-in-law, Barbara and Herman Singleton of Milwaukee, Paulette Harding of Baker, Janie and Rodney Spears of New Orleans, Paula Harding of Baton Rouge and Sandra Harding of New Orleans; five sons and two daughters-in-law, Gerald Harding, Samuel, III and Carolyn Harding and Jeffery and Valerie Harding, all of New Orleans, Marvin Harding and Carl Harding of Baltimore; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary Dee Green and Mercedes and Ernest Dominick of Bayou Goula; five sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law, Zenobia Jordan and Frances Smith of White Castle, Sarah Williams of Inkster, Mich., Ruth and Eugene Welton of Silver Spring, Md., Eddie Smith of Harvey, and Earl and Earline Smith of New Orleans; two godchildren, Darrel Green of Dallas and Sis. Breaux; 22 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a devoted and loving granddaughter and grandson, Trina and Corey; two former daughters-in-law, Valerie Burris and Jean Wilson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jennie Harding; mother, Ernestine Harding; father, Samuel Harding, Sr.; and a brother, Joseph Harding. Friends and relatives are invited to attend funeral services on Monday at 12:30 p.m. at Beulah Land Baptist Church, 2436 St. Maurice Ave., New Orleans. Entombment in Mount Olivet Mausoleum. Visitation at the church after 10:30 a.m. Monday. Professional Funeral Service Inc., New Orleans, in charge of arrangements.

HULIN, OLLIE FALCON
A Mass of Christian Burial for Ollie Falcon Hulin will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Rayne, at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Visitation at Gossen Funeral Home, Rayne, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation at the funeral home after 8 a.m. Tuesday. Burial in Garden Catacomb Memorial Mausoleum, Rayne. Mrs. Hulin, a native of Rayne and 92 years old, died at Lafayette General Medical Center Saturday evening, Nov. 2, 2002. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Daughters of the Americas and Altar Society in Sulphur for the past eight years. Before that she was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Daughters of the Americas and Altar Society in Rayne, where she also served as a Eucharistic minister. Mrs. Hulin worked at Mervin Kahn's in Rayne for more than 30 years, primarily in the drapery department. Mrs. Hulin was preceded in death by her husband, Stanville Hulin; her parents, John and Rosa Falcon; her five sisters, Angeline Lavergne, Euchariste Stutes, Locadie Sonnier, Inez Mullenix and Laurence Dartez; her two brothers, Edwin Falcon and Edward Falcon; and niece and nephews, Renola Dugas, Johnny Lavergne and Robert Dartez. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Paul Dartez; and her nieces and nephews and their families, Rose Simon, Irene Hargett, Oran Stutes, Wilma Sonnier, Myrline Wilsford, Jerry Sonnier, Marie Hebert, Mona Trahan, Randy Falcon, Jimmy Meaux, Martha Kile, Andy Mullenix, David Dartez, Carole Chaffe, Jane Webb, Joe Dartez, Mary Smith, Julie Broussard, Suzanne Todd and Ellen Deters; and the families of Renola Dugas, Johnny Lavergne and Robert Dartez.

MARTINEZ, GOLDIE MAE
A resident of Conway, Ark., for the past 13 years, she died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002, at Conway Regional Hospital. She was 85. Visitation at Myers Colonial Funeral Home, DeRidder, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday. Visitation at the funeral home from 8 a.m. until service at 10 a.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Alan Knuckles. Interment in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, DeRidder. Survived by three sons, George C. Martin, Conway, William G. Martinez, Little Rock, Ark., and Kenneth C. Martinez, Chalmette; two daughters, Mae Taviano, Toledo, Ohio, and Gloria Barletter, New Orleans; a brother, J.C. Bailey, DeRidder; a sister, Glenda Mize, Alexandria; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She attended the Louisiana State School for the Blind in Baton Rouge.

MORGAN, JR. BILLY RAY
A devoted father, loving son and caring brother, he passed away to be embraced by our Lord on Friday, Nov. 1, 2002, at his home in Baton Rouge. He was 36 and a native of Vidalia. He worked many years in car sales. Visiting was at Young's Funeral Home, Vidalia, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. Visiting at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Vidalia, from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Paul Kunnumpuram. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery in Natchez, Miss. He is survived by his son, Jason Paul Morgan; wife, Jessica Morgan; mother and stepfather, Rose Mary and Norman Edwards, Vidalia; father and stepmother, Billy Ray, Sr. and Barbara Morgan, Shreveport; grandmother, Rae Presswood, Shreveport; a sister and brother-in-law, Carla and Mike Broussard, Baton Rouge; sister and brother-in-law, Penny and Scott Crain, Vidalia; a half-brother, Clay Morgan; an aunt and uncle, Ann and Tommy Brocato, Niceville, Fla.; an aunt and uncle, Diana and Tommy Leblanc, Plaquemine; an aunt and uncle, Debbie and John Charles Brocato, Vidalia; an uncle, Gary Paul Presswood, Shreveport; three nieces and five cousins; and many more friends and extended family who cared for him dearly. Preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Johnny and Mary Brocato. Pallbearers will be Brad Sala, Sean Redmond, Brandon Hampton, Brown Boudreaux, Stacy Ferrington, Tom Carney, Jay Myers and Robert Clark. Honorary pallbearer is Scott Ham. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Jason Paul Morgan Trust Fund at Concordia Bank & Trust in Vidalia.

NICKLES, HELEN BERNICE CREECY
A longtime resident of Cleveland and Vicksburg, Miss., she passed away Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002, at the age of 84 at her daughter's home in Greenwell Springs. She was born in Stuttgart, Ark., on Dec. 10, 1917. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Ted McCulley of Greenwell Springs; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles Ray and Marleine Nickles of Vicksburg; a brother, Marvin Creecy of Hot Springs, Ark.; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Mrs. Nickles was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Charles A.V. "Bud" Nickles; her parents, Jenny and Ray Creecy; two brothers, Harold and Alvin Creecy; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Rose Nickles. A graveside memorial service will be held in Lone Tree Cemetery, Stuttgart, at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002, conducted by the Rev. Mickey Stringfield of Ruston. The family wishes to thank Dr. Louis Minsky, Dr. Gerald Miletello and the staff of Hospice of Baton Rouge for their care and support. An 18-year employee of Woman's Hospital and a resident and native of Baton Rouge, she died at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 1, 2002, at Summit Hospital. She was 40. Visiting was at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. Visiting at St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church from 11 a.m. until religious service at 1 p.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Alec Sheldon. Interment in St. George Cemetery. Survived by her husband, Ronald "Ron" Parrish; father and mother, Robert and Barbara M. Begnaud; two daughters, Jordyn Lyn and Carley Renee Parrish; a sister, Michelle Leah Begnaud; and a brother, Dennis Paul Begnaud.

PILLOT, I MASTER SGT. JAMES ARTHUR
An ES operations analyst II with the Department of Labor, he died at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2002, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. He was 55, a resident of Baton Rouge, and a native of New Orleans. He was a retired U.S. Air Force Reserve master sergeant. Visiting at Winnfield Funeral Home from noon to 4 p.m. Monday. Religious service at Community Bible Baptist Church at 11 a.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Lee T. Wesley. Interment in Port Hudson National Cemetery. Survived by his wife, Joan D. Pillot; three daughters, Ebonique C. Pillot, Bonique P. Morton and JoAnna A.K. Pillot; a sister, Hilda P. Kindell; and a brother, George Pillot, Jr. Preceded in death by his son, James A. Pillot, II; a daughter, Kissiah E. Pillot; parents, George Pillot, Sr. and Kissiah W. Pillot; and a sister, Shirley P. Simmons. He was a cum laude graduate of Southern University and A&M; College.

A resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 5:55 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. He was 61 and a native of Lawtell. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Earlene Stelly Pitre of Baton Rouge; mother, Alex Joubert Pitre of Opelousas; four sons, Ronald Gregory Pitre and fiancee Dawn Renee Schlaegel of Denham Springs, Scott Anthony and wife, Debbie Pitre of Woodbine, Ga., Michael Shayne and wife, Brenda Pitre of Marietta, Ga., and Timothy Floyd Pitre and fiancee Dawn Stepp of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Melba Breaux of Lawtell, and Mary Vandergriff of Opelousas; two brothers, George Pitre of Lafayette, and Bobby Pitre of Opelousas; seven grandchildren, Krista Ellen Pitre, Kristi Renee Pitre, Ryan Scott Pitre, Michael Shayne Pitre, II, Maegan Marie Pitre, Timothy Jared Pitre and Jacob Derek Pitre; seven step-grandchildren, Sarah Withers, April Spencer, Jessica Harbin, Stephanie Spencer, DeShawn Hutchinson, Kalee Stepp and Brandi Pitre; two step-great-grandchildren, Eythan Harbin and Sierra Withers; and and adopted daughter, Dawn Kerr. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Derek Joseph Pitre; father, Marion Pitre; and a brother, Floyd Pitre. Survived by a sister-in-law, Alice Becker Prejean, Baton Rouge; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Emile and Stella Blanchard Prejean; three sisters, Virginia Prejean Levert, Octavia Prejean Foret and Agnes Prejean; and six brothers, Paul, Sr., Emile, Jr., Hector, Louis, Sr., Gerard, Sr. and Claude Prejean, Sr. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church and a former member of Court Cor Jesu 1893, Catholic Daughters of the Americas.
