ZELLER, SR. GERALD
Gerald Zeller, Sr., age 70 years, born June 22, 1933, died on Sunday, Oct. 12, 2003, at his residence. He was a native and resident of Lutcher. He retired from Kaiser Aluminum & Chemical Co. with 31 years of service. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a third degree member of Knights of Columbus and a member of and longtime cook of Lutcher High School Quarterback Club. Survived by his wife, Marie Pitarro Zeller; three sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald, Jr. and Jackie, Terry and Christine and Karl and Happy; a daughter, Donna Veron; and eight grandchildren, Carrie, Kayla, Kylie, Ryan, Alexandra, Emily, Kelsie and Claire. Survived by brothers, Elliott and Ferrell; and sisters, Alice Thomassie, Ann White and Mary Louise Dempsey. Preceded in death by his parents, William and Florence Pollet Zeller; and brothers, William, Pollet and Gilbert Zeller. Visitation at Rose Lynn Funeral Services, 1870 Cabanose Ave., Lutcher, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2003, and 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. BARDWELL, BILLY G.
A retired employee relations supervisor at South Central Bell with 35 years of service, he passed away at 11:35 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002, at his residence in Baton Rouge. He was 74 and a native of Marshall, Texas. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Visiting at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and after 11 a.m. Tuesday. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia "Pat" Wilson Bardwell of Baton Rouge; a daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Bryan Abadie of Baton Rouge; a sister-in-law, Camille Falgout and husband, Wayne of Maurepas; two grandsons, Jacque and Sean Abadie, both of Baton Rouge; a brother, Paul Bardwell and wife, Carolyn of Arlington, Texas; a niece, Tammy Hyatt and husband, Mark; great-nieces, Lauren and Meghan Hyatt and Lindsay Alexander; and nephews, Larry Alexander and wife, Sheila, Tommy Falgout and Paul Bardwell, Jr. He was preceded in death by a son, Kim Allen Bardwell; and his parents, Carl and Eva Mae Adams Bardwell. Pallbearers will be members of Telephone Pioneers. He was a member of First Church of Christ Scientist and Telephone Pioneers. HARKINS, JIMMIE "RED"
Jimmie "Red" Harkins, 82, of North Little Rock, Ark., passed away Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion for 54 years. He was closely connected to Louisiana politics and was a political aide to former Gov. Huey Long, George Long and former Gov. Earl K. Long for many years. Survived by three sons, Al Harkins of Little Rock, Ark., Carl Harkins of Shreveport and Randy Harkins of Marksville; a daughter, Joyce Tullier of Alexandria; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
