Retired owner of a convenience store and a lifelong resident of Monticello in Lawrence County, Miss., he died Friday, June 7, 2002, at Veterans Hospital in Jackson, Miss. He was 80, born Nov. 30, 1921. Visiting was at Wilson Funeral Home, Monticello, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, June 8, 2002, and from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, June 9, 2002. Service was at Bethel Baptist Church, Monticello, at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 9, 2002. He was a member of Carmel Baptist Church, a life member of the VFW and a member of the 25th Division Infantry Association. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Columbus and Maude Glover Boyles; and two brothers. Survived by his wife, Mildred Lambert Boyles, Monticello; two sons, Dale Boyles, Brookhaven, Miss., and William F. Boyles, Houston; two daughters, Pamela Boyles Stanley, Monticello, and Phyllis Boyles Kelly, Prentiss, Miss.; two brothers, LaRue Boyles, Jackson, and Odell Boyles, Monticello; two sisters, Irene Duvall, Baton Rouge, and Marie Templet, New Hebron, Miss.; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A boilermaker and a native and resident of Springfield, he died Sunday, June 16, 2002, in Livingston Parish. He was 29. A retired boilermaker and member of Boilermakers Union Local 582, he died at 3:10 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2002, at his residence in Baton Rouge. He was 68 and a native of Brookhaven, Miss. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict. Visiting was at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday.
