Sam H. Brown

SHREVEPORT, LA - Sam H. Brown passed away peacefully at his home in Shreveport, Louisiana, on Tuesday, July 4, 2000 after a long illness. Visitation will be held at Osborn Funeral Home from 10:15 until 11:30 on Friday, July 7, 2000 prior to the service at 11:30 in the chapel. Officiating will be Dr. Pat Day of First United Methodist Church.
Sam was born December 4, 1908 in Bewelcome, Mississippi to Lewis T. Brown and Mary Anders Brown and moved with his family to Doyline, LA. In his early teens he moved to Shreveport where he was employed by Arkla-Gas and retired in 1975 as Purchasing Agent after 46 years of service.
He had been active in civic affairs which included Chairman of the Advisory Board of The Salvation Army, The Administrative Board of The First United Methodist Church, The Board of Directors of Pelican Chapter of Girl Scouts of America, Treasurer of Cotillion club and member of Caddo Parish Jury Commission for 44 years.
Sam predeceased his parents; one sister; and three brothers. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mabel Kemp Brown; sons, Sam, Jr. and his wife, Shelamichael of Houston, TX, William K. Brown and his wife, Kim of Seattle, WA; two granddaughters, Barbara Riddle and Kathryn Brown; and sister-in-law, Virginia Ayer of Birmingham, AL.
Pallbearers will be Don Weir, W. B. Ogilvie, Bill Towery, Jim Johnson, Stewart Madison, Milton Hamel, Brady Harris and Robert McKenzie.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lilbourne Morgan and Thomas W. Wilson.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Julia Baylor, Doris Howard and Beverly Efferson for their loving and excellent care.

Mr. Leon Ferlito

SHREVEPORT, LA - Mr. Leon Ferlito, 82, died at CHRISTUS Schumpert Highland, Friday, July 7th, [2000] after a brief illness. Visitation will be held at Osborn Funeral Home, Sunday, July 9th beginning at 3PM. A Rosary will be held at 6PM. Funeral services will begin at 10:30AM, Monday, July 10th, at St. John Berchmans Cathedral. Officiating will be Rev. Rothell Price of St. Jude's Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery.
Mr. Ferlito was a native of Eros, Louisiana and a resident of Shreveport-Bossier City, for 82 years. He was a member of St. John Berchmans Cathedral. He was lovingly devoted to his wife of 62 years and to his family. He was an avid outdoorsman and fisherman and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Chetta Ferlito, Shreveport; a daughter, Toni Maranto, Bossier City; a son, Nick J. Ferlito and his wife, LaVerne, Shreveport; 5 grandchildren, Charlie Maranto, Jr., Deborah Book and her husband, Harold, Regina Brewer and her husband, Johnny, Djuna Shirey and her husband, Jerry, Nick J. Ferlito, Jr. and his wife, Brandy; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Josephine LaBella, Madison, Wisc.; a brother, Joe Ferlito, Bossier City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Vincent D. Tuminello, Ronald Tuminello, Dwayne Mason, Vincent Tuminello, Michael Cannon and John LeGrand.
Honorary pallbearers will be John J. Tuminello, Dominic Tuminello and Emile Tuminello.
The family requests that any memorials be made to the Grace Home, 1035 Margaret Pl., Shreveport, LA 71101 or Holy Angels, 10450 Ellerbe Rd., Shreveport, LA 71106.
The family would also like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Sidney Hunt, Dr. Sanders Hearne, the medical staff, the nursing staff and our many friends at CHRISTUS Schumpert Highland Hospital.

Bessie Cimino

SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services for Bessie Cimino, 83, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 12, 2000 at St. John Berchmans Cathedral. Officiating will be Father Charles Glorioso, pastor of St. Pius X Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Osborn Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 11th from 5 until 7 p.m. with a vigil following at 7 p.m. in the chapel at Osborn.
Bessie Cimino passed away at 7:25 p.m. Sunday, July 9, 2000 at Schumpert Hospital. She was born in Manhasset, New York on October 24, 1916. She moved to Italy at the age of three years old and returned to America at the age of nineteen and remained a lifelong resident of Shreveport. She and her husband owned and operated the Pick & Pack Grocery for the majority of that time. They were married for 40 years prior to his death in 1975. She was a member of St. John Berchmans Cathedral.
Her husband, Sam T. Cimino; her parents; hers sisters; and her brother preceded Bessie in death. She is survived by her daughter, Rosie Avallone and her husband, Louis; her two sons, Frank N. Cimino and wife, Sandy and Sam P. Cimino and wife, Nancy; six grandchildren, Louis R. Avallone and wife, Colleen, Thomas Avallone, Sam T. Cimino, Michael Cimino, Anthony Cimino, and Maria' Cimino.
Pallbearers will be her five grandsons, and cousin, Sam Balistrella.
The family requests that memorials be made to the American Heart Association or to St. John Berchmans Cathedral.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Alan Borne and his staff, Dr. Deirdre Barfield and to Zandra, Edna, Gloria, Kay and Dorothy.

Mr. William Frederick Mann

SHREVEPORT, LA - Mr. William Frederick Mann, born January 1, 1921, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 9, 2000. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, July 11th from 6 until 8 p.m. at Osborn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2000 at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel of Osborn Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Bob Moore, Pastor of Community Bible Church of Keithville.
A life long resident of Shreveport, Mr. Mann was an active member of the Community Bible Church in Keithville. He was a past president of the Shreveport Camellia Society and member of the American Camellia Club. In 1985 he was presented the Award of Honor from the American Camellia Club for distinguished service to the cause of Camellias and to the society.
Mr. Mann was a loving and giving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mr. Mann is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jacqueline St. Vigne Mann; daughter, Sharon Mann Wright and husband, James Robert Wright; two grandchildren, Geoffrey Spencer Wright and wife, D'Ann Schrieber Wright, Jennifer Wright Rutledge and husband, Todd Rutledge; two great-grandchildren, Conner Reed Rutledge and Kathleen Cameron Wright all of Dallas, TX; sisters-in-law, Juanita St. Vigne Hudson of Shreveport, LA, Betty St. Vigne Stubblefield of Conroe, TX; and brother-in-law, Jimmy St. Vigne and wife, Anne Diamond St.Vigne of Conroe, TX.
Pallbearers will be John McMellon, Randy Lewis, Joe Scoggin, Randy Scoggin and Dudley Scoggin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Luthur Robbins, Aubrey Peninger and Rudy Cockrell.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. David Caskey, the staff and nurses of the 2nd floor cardiac care unit at Christus Schumpert Medical Center for their loving care and support.

Mr. Albert C. (Cotton) Seabaugh, Jr.

SHREVEPORT, LA - Cotton Seabaugh, 79, passed away at Willis-Knighton Medical Center on Thursday, July 13, 2000 with his family by his side. Cotton was the most understanding and loving example of a husband, father and grandfather. His loving, kindness, and values will be carried on for years to come.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2000 from 2 until 4 p.m. at Osborn Funeral Home, Southern Ave. Graveside services will follow at 4:30 p.m. at Forest Park Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Steven Spurlock, Pastor and Rev. Quinn O'Bannion, Assoc. Pastor of Broadmoor United Methodist Church.
Mr. Seabaugh was born April 13, 1921 in Bossier City. After being a P. O. W. in World War II for 14 months in Germany, he worked for Red River Motor Company for 47 years. After retiring in 1986, he spent his time with his family and friends.
His parents, A. C. Seabaugh, Sr. and Louise Seabaugh; and his brothers, R. E. Seabaugh and Robert Seabaugh preceded Mr. Seabaugh in death. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Thelma Gilcrease Seabaugh, his daughter, Patricia Seabaugh Young and husband, Pete; three grandsons, Gray Young and wife, Dawn, Chris Young and wife, Staphanie, and Patrick Young and wife, Brandy; five great grandchildren, Jordan, Cassidy, Tucker, Madeline, and Tameron; two sisters, Majorie Davis and Helen Roller; one brother, Richard (Dick) Seabaugh; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Gray Young, Chris Young, Patrick Young, Claude Seabaugh, Pat Seabaugh, and Eddie Seabaugh.
Honorary pallbearers will be the American Chapter of Ex-POW's and the employees of Red River Motor Company.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to Dr. James Jackson and Dr. Basel Kasabali, and to the staff of Willis-Knighton Medical Center, the Rehabilitation Center, and the Willis-Knighton Heart Institute.

Ms. Donna Bush Saucier

SHREVEPORT, LA - Ms. Donna Bush Saucier, 59, died at Evangeline Nursing Home on Friday, July 14, 2000 after a lengthy illness. Visitation will be held at Osborn Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 18, 2000 from 8:30 AM until 9:30 AM. A funeral mass will begin at 10 AM Tuesday at St. John Berchmans Cathedral with Father Curtis Woods officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery.
Ms. Saucier was a native of Shreveport, LA and a resident of Natchitoches, LA for 15 years. She was a graduate of Northwestern State University.
Ms. Saucier was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Lena Moreau Bush .
She is survived by two daughters, Angela Whitaker Adolph and Carla Jeanette Whitaker; one son, John Barclay Whitaker II.
Pallbearers will be Barclay Whitaker, Glen Adolph, John Whitaker and Jerry Todaro.

John David Clough

SHREVEPROT, LA - John David Clough, 48, a former resident and member of longtime and prominent Arkansas City, Kansas families, passed away Friday, July 14, 2000 at a Shreveport, LA Hospital.
He was the son of Dorothy Roberson Clough and the late Robert M. Clough, Sr. (1972); the grandson of the late Fred and Eunice Downing Roberson and the late James E. and Nora Englis Clough.
Born February 17, 1951, in Chicago, he lived there until 1956 when the family moved to Arkansas City. Moving to Shreveport in 1958, he was educated in schools there and studied journalism at Louisiana Tech until 1973. For ten years, he owned Putt-Putt Golf Course in Shreveport. He then owned horses that raced at Louisiana Downs, at tracks in Massachusetts, and at the New Orleans Fairgrounds until he was incapacitated by diabetes and its complications.
For the past several years he has made his home with his mother. In addition to her, he is survived by a brother, Robert M. Clough, Jr., Shreveport; uncle and aunt, Mr and Mrs Bill Roberson, Topeka; and cousins, Tara Roberson and her son, Austin, of Topeka and Mr and Mrs Bradley Roberson and their son, Will, of Anchorage, Alaska.
Following his request, after cremation, there will be only a graveside service at Parker Cemetery in Arkansas City which will be held at a later date.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Kidney Foundation.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Tommy Gayer and his family for their love and support.

Willie McLemore

Shreveport, LA - Graveside services for Miss. Willie McLemore of Shreveport, will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, July 19, 2000 in Forest-Park Cemetery. Rev. Wilson Warren of First Presbyterian Church of Shreveport, will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Osborn Funeral Home.
Miss McLemore died at Willis-Knighton Medical Center on Saturday, July 15, 2000. A native of Corpus Christi, TX, Miss. McLemore had lived in Shreveport most of her life. She was a secretary at First Presbyterian Church for many years before her retirement, May 1, 1976. As an active member of that congregation since 1937, she served in a number of capacities in the School of the Church, and was awarded an Honorary Life Membership in the organization of the Women of the Church. A lover of music, she at one time sang in the YWCA Choral Club under the direction of Mrs. Ruth Knox, and in the Church Choir under the direction of Charles E. Boggs. She was also a violinist in the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra in 1931 and 1932 when it was first organized.
Her sisters, Mrs. Lenoir McLemore Chance and Mrs. Gladis M. Althar, preceded Miss McLemore in death.
She is survived by a brother, G. R. McLemore; a niece, Mrs. Gordon Elflein Fruend; and many grand-nephews and nieces.
Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Shreveport or to the charity of the donor's choice.

John Wayne Deen

SHREVEPORT, LA - Mr. John Wayne Deen, 59, died at his residence on Monday, July 17, 2000. Visitation will be held at Osborn Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 19, 2000 from 5 until 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Kimple-Dillman-Ellis Funeral Home in Paoli, IN. Interment will be at Stanpers Creek Cemetery, Paoli, IN.
Mr. Deen was a native of Indiana and a resident of Shreveport for 22 years. He was a retired Tech. Sgt. from the U.S. Army and was employed at Libby Glass for 20 years.
Mr. Deen is survived by his two daughters, Kimberly Grace Deen and Sherry Denise Deen; two granddaughters, Savannah Ann Deen and Ashley K. Deen all of Murfreesboro, TN; sister, Nancy L. Scott of Bedford, IN; and brother, William R. Scott of Joliet, IL.

Joyce Burns

SHREVEPORT, LA - Joyce Burns, 70, lost her battle with cancer on July 19, 2000. She was born Joyce Yvonne Whiddon in Purvis, Mississippi, on December 29th,1929 to Francis Marion and Caroline Whiddon. After 52 years of marriage to Kurvis Burns she has spent most of her life working side by side with her husband and family in the school picture business. Her dearest sister Mildred and brothers Norman and Jim were part of the school picture dynasty (School Pictures, Inc) that became the largest company of its kind in the world. Along with a busy career, she has been an active member of First Presbyterian Church where she taught for many years, became superintendent of Sunday School and was elected deacon. Mother to Yvonne, Carl, and Vance and grandmother "mother" to Fallen who has been in her care since she was a toddler. Every mother is special but there are no words to describe someone whose greatest passion in life was to please everyone first. Most will agree that a more gracious and giving woman could not be found. A private family graveside service will be held which will follow with a memorial celebration of her life at First Presbyterian Church on Friday, July 21st at 2 P.M.
