Mrs. Olivia Pittard Robinson

GRAND CANE, LA - Services for Mrs. Olivia Pittard Robinson, 96, will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, November 13, 2001 at Rose-Neath Chapel, Mansfield. Officiating will be Rev. David Permenter. Burial will be in Grand Cane Cemetery, Grand Cane, LA.
Visitation will be Monday, November 12, 2001 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, 7 a.m. to service time.Mrs. Robinson passed away Saturday, November 10, 2001 in Grand Cane, LA. She was born in Caldwell Parish, LA, and was a member of the Grand Cane Baptist Church and taught High School in Grand Cane and Mansfield. She was an artist.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gilmer "Pit" Pittard and her second husband, Ira P. Robinson.
She is survived by one son, Gilmer Pittard of Kilgore, TX; one daughter, Buena Stevenson of Plano, TX; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to The Historic Grand Cane Association or Children's Home in Ruston, LA.

Nelwyn Hill Nichols

SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral Services for Nelwyn Hill Nichols, 81, will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, November 13, 2001 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Dr. Rob Weber, pastor of Grace Community Church and associate pastor, Clay McConnell. Interment will be in Forest Park West Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Monday, November 11, 2001.
Mrs. Nichols, a navite of Shreveport, LA, passed away November 10, 2001 at her home. She was a retired co-owner of Nichols Roofing ahd Sheet Metal, member of the Ark-La-Tex Antique Car Association, member of the Ark-La-Tex Gun Club, member of the Retired Sheet Metal Association and secretary of Central American Missions Program (Camp).
Mrs. Nichols is survived by her husband, Wyett Nichols of Shreveport, LA; one son, Wyett Olen Nichols of Shreveport, LA; two daughters, Judy N. Bolen of Shreveport, LA and Marie N. Kelley of Baton Rouge, LA; one sister, Lonnie Belle Hope of Shreveport, LA; seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Donald V. Bolen, David Ray Bolen, Dallas Shane Nichols, Charlie Wyett Nichols, Kristopher M. Kelley, Rodney Wayne Bolen and Patrick L. Oathout.
The family suggest memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Mrs. Claudia R. Walker Trussell

SHREVEPORT, LA - Mrs. Claudia R. Walker Trussell, 81, passed away at her residence on November 9, 2001.
Services will be held at Wellman Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. Monday, November 12, 2001 officiated by Rev. Kenneth Martin. interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Claudia retired from the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Department after serving 21 years. She was an active member at Central Christian Church. She was faithfully dedicated to her husband, John, sons and grandchildren.
Claudia cherished life, loved her family, enjoyed traveling and sharing competitive moments with her Bridge Club.
She is survived by her husband, John C. Trussell; son, Mark R. Walker and wife Kathy, son Buck Trussell and wife Rosalind, and son, Don Trussell and wife Deborah. She had 10 grandchildren: Christen, Brandon, Ashley and Sean Walker. Jim, Scott, Susan, Joseph, Ashley and Troy Trussell and 5 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Joe Sepulvado, Willard Sneed, Al Riser, Bill Duncan, Johnny Lisenbee, A.L. Williams, Frank McGuire, and Ron Stokes.
Memorials may be made in Claudia's memory to Central Christian Church.

L.F. "Bud" Hallett, Jr.

SHREVEPORT, LA - L.F. "Bud" Hallett, Jr., resident of Shreveport, LA, passed away November 11, 2001 at Christus Schumpert Grace Home. Rev. Chip Turner will conduct a memorial service to be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, November 13, 2001 at Rose-Neath Marshall Street Chapel.
Bud was born in Balboa, Panama Canal Zone on October 2, 1919 and was a 1939 graduate of Greenbriar Military School in Lewisburg, WV. He was a Captain in the U.S. Army, serving as Paymaster and Army Post Engineer during WWII.
He served as Lay Advisor to the Order of the Arrow and received the Silver Beaver, Wood Badge and other awards recognizing over 50 years of service to the Boy Scouts of America. He was one of the first in Norwela Council to receive the Founder's Award.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, son-in-law Joe Rudd, and grandsons, James Routt and Jay Rudd.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Mary Ann Hughes Hallett and their children, Carol Hallett Rudd of Sherwood, AR, L.F. "Buddy" Hallett, III of Shreveport, Amy Hallett of Houston, TX and Walter C. Hallett, Sr. and his wife Sanya Hallett of Bossier City, five grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
We would like to acknowledge and express sincere appreciation for the many years of friendship of Bennett Politz.
Our special thanks to the In-Home Hospice Staff, Robyn and Debbie, volunteers, Peggy and Ron, and the entire staff of Christus Schumpert Grace Home. A particular thanks to Ray Norwood, Dr. Seborn Woods and Dr. Charles Black, Jr.

Conway Alexander Rieves

ALBUQUERQUE, NM - Conway Alexander Rieves, 95, passed November 9, 2001 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she had been residing since 1997. Born in Weatherford, Texas, lived and raised a family in Shreveport, Louisiana. Conway was preceded in death by her husband, John Rieves and daughters, Jane Rieves Peterson of Albuquerque, and Ann Bernhardt of Monroe, Louisiana. She is survived by son-in-law, Pete Peterson of Albuquerque, five grandsons, Chuck Peterson, Gary Peterson, and Theron Peterson, of Albuquerque; John Bernhardt of Lafayette, Louisiana, Paul Bernhardt of Salt Lake City, Utah, three great-granddaughters, Erica and Michelle Peterson of Albuquerque, and Katie Bernhardt of New Iberia, Louisiana. Conway was a charter member of the 1st Presbyterian Church of Shreveport, past president of Southern Women's Literary Club, member of DAR, active in gardening, bridge, and fishing. Conway's wit, sense of humor and very pragmatic approach to life were endearing qualities to the end. Family and surviving friends will sorely miss her. Graveside service at Forest Park Cemetery in Shreveport, Louisiana, Wednesday, November 14 at 3:00 p.m.

Mattie Lou Ashby

BLANCHARD, LA - Services for Mattie Lou Ashby, 84, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2001 at Blanchard Nazarene Church. Officiating will be Alton Ashby, Jr., assisted by Rev. Joe Talhiem. Burial will be in Blanchard Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the church from 5 p.m. Monday until service.
Mrs. Ashby passed away Saturday, November 10, 2001 in Bossier City, LA. She was born in Pleasant Hill, LA and was a lifelong resident of Blanchard, LA. She was a retired Blanchard librarian and served 32 months in the W.A.A.C. during WWII.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. and Mrs. A.D. Ashby, six brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by her sister, Imogene Bertrand of Blanchard, LA; brothers, O.F. (Pete) Ashby of Karnack, TX and David Ashby, Sr. of Crowley, LA; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The pallbearers will be the nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Blanchard Nazarene Church Building Fund.

Wilma Neifert Barnett (Mrs. Larry Barnett)

SHREVEPORT, LA - Services for Wilma N. Barnett will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 14, 2001, at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. The family will receive friends at the chapel November 13, 2001 from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Burial will be at Centuries Memorial. After a long illness, Mrs. Barnett entered into the presence of her Lord on Friday, November 9, 2001.
Mrs. Barnett, affectionately known as "Grandma Bill" was born in Holyoke, Colorado on December 10, 1921 to Ben and Emma Neifert. After graduating from high school and attending business school in Denver, she met and married the love of her life - her husband of 57 years, Lawrence "Larry" Barnett.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by many. Her love of life, her sense of humor, and commitment to God will never be forgotten. She was a loving person who gave of herself, volunteering for the American Red Cross during WWII, serving as a Sunday School teacher, Cub Scout leader and volunteer at The Glen Retirement Home. She was an active member of the Hall Sunday School Class at First Presbyterian Church for thirty-seven years.
She is preceded in death by her husband; sister, Alda Marlin of Denver; on infant son, William; and her parents.
She is survived by her children; son, Robert (Bob) Barnett, his wife Theresa and their children, Lisa, Jenn and Krista, all of Beverly, Massachusetts; daughter, Ann Barnett Tew and husband Clyde and their children, Ryan, Lezley and Emily, all of Shreveport. She is also survived by a special niece, Sharon Thomas of Surprise, Arizona; sister-in-law and husband Lynn and Stu Nelson of Bethesda, Maryland; sisters-in-law, Laurie Burke and Mildred Brown of Atlanta, Georgia, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Brett Edmonds, Dustin Edmonds, Brandon Edmonds, Walter Hartman, Jay Jones and Manson Reynolds.
Sincere appreciation to special friends, Brett and Debbie Edmonds, Bo and Melba Williams, Suzi Bison, Vernon and Chris Williams, Darwin and Mary Jack and Mary McMahon, who have been there in love and prayer during such difficult days. Also, to a sweet future granddaughter-in-law, Juli, whose sweetness lifted Grandma Bill's spirits always.

Glenn Eloytt Lee

SHREVEPORT, LA - Services for Glenn Eloytt Lee, 20, will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, November 12, 2001 at the Christ The King Catholic Church. Officiating will be Father Joe Martina.
Mr. Lee passed away Thursday, November 8, 2001 at L.S.U. Medical Center after an automobile accident. He was born in Bossier City, LA and was a resident of Shreveport, LA. Glenn graduated from Christ The King Catholic School and Airline High School with honors, and he was a member of the Beta Club. He has been attending L.S.U.S. for the past two years.
He is survived by his father, Ting Lee; mother, Peggy Jo Lee; brothers, Gregory Lee and wife, Brandy and Garrett Lee; sister, Gina Lee; nephews, Gregory Austin, Conner Allian; paternal grandmother, King Lee; maternal grandmother, Carmanell Thornton; uncles, An-Chi Lee and wife, Shirley, I Lee and wife, San San, Ralph Walters, Charlie Walters; aunts, Nancy Lee, Martha Ann Walters, Clara Lowrie; cousins, Jeff Lee, Howard Lee, Jonathan Lowrie, Terry Lowrie.
Pallbearers will be Gregory Lee, Joey Robichaux, Charlie Weller, Patrick Lincoln, Jeff Lee, Lucas Harmon.

Major L. Brock, Sr.

SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services for Major L. Brock, Sr. will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, December 1, 2001 at Avenue Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Clarence Hicks. Visitation will be Friday, November 30, 2001 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at J. S. Williams Funeral Home.
Major L. Brock, Sr., born to the late Stella Holly Brock and Hardy Brock on September 3, 1916 in Lake End, LA, departed this life Thursday, November 22, 2001 at Christus Schumpert Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Mr. Brock was retired from Delta Air Lines where he was employed 31 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Sims Brock and brother, Johnny Brock.
He is survived by his son, Major L. Brock, Jr.; grandson, Matthew Lawrence Brock; granddaughter, Cori Majors Brock; daughter-in-law, Beverly Myres Brock; niece, Ruth Wilson, nephews, Robert Wilson and Charles Wilson and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Edythe C. Todd

Bossier City, La - Services for Edythe C. Todd, 79, will be held at Boone Funeral Home in Bossier City. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm on Friday, November 30, 2001. A Catholic mass will be held at Saint Jude Church of Bossier City, Saturday, December 1, at 11: 00 a.m. Graveside services will be at Rose-Neath Cemetery immediately following the mass.
Edythe Campbell "Crash" Todd was born in Benton, Mississippi, in 1922 to a large family of eight children. Leaving home during WWII she met her husband, Walter, a serviceman in the Army Air Corps. As an Air Force wife, Edythe traveled the country, learned to fly (hence the nickname "Crash"), play golf, bowl and raised a family of five. An accomplished entrepreneur, she owned numerous successful businesses during her life. Edythe had a passion for life and her presence was a gift to us all. She will be missed by all who knew her.
After a battle with cancer, Edythe died November 29, 2001. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Colonel Walter S. Todd and youngest daughter, Jennifer Todd McClintock. She is survived by her daughter, Vickie Estess and husband, Steven of Bossier City; son, Michael Todd and wife, Sharon, of Minneapolis; daughter, Brenda McNeely and Joe McNeely of Houston; and son, Anthony Todd of Dallas. She had twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children's Research Center.
