SHREVEPORT, LA - Graveside rites for Master Jeremy Jerard Simmons will be held Saturday, December 1st, 2001 at 10 a.m. at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery.

He leaves to cherish his memory father and mother, Rev. Otis & Rhoda Simmons of Shreveport; two brothers, Ramie & Justin; grandmothers, Essie Jaggers & Janie Simmons, 3 uncles, 6 aunts, and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers and one uncle.

Janie "Mams" Elizabeth Caldwell Oxley
MANY, LA - Services for Janie "Mams" Elizabeth Caldwell Oxley, 85, will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, November 30, 2001 at Warren Meadows Funeral Home Chapel.
Officiating will be Rev. E. E. Walker.
Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 4 p.m., Thursday, November, 29, 2001 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Oxley died Thursday, November 29, 2001 at Sabine Medical Center.
She was born April 12, 1916 in Columbia, LA, and was a resident of Blanchard, LA.
Mrs. Oxley was a life-long member of Oak Hill Baptist Church in Many, LA, and a member of the Eastern Star Chapter 171 of Many.
She was retired from the Sabine Parish School Board after 25 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Oxley; sons, Gordon Oxley and Ronnie Robert; and parents, Ottis P. Caldwell and Elizabeth Caldwell.
Survivors are one son, Charles Oxley of Shreveport, LA; two sisters, Lillian Arthur and Sally Ward both of Many, LA; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a host of friends in Many, and Blanchard, LA.
Mrs. Oxley will be missed by all who have known her.

Knox L. Pyle, Jr.
LOGANSPORT, LA - Memorial services are scheduled for 3 p.m., Saturday, December 1, 2001 at Mount Olivet Baptist Church in Logansport, LA, for Knox L. Pyle, Jr., 73, of Sumrall, MS, who died November 20, 2001 at Wesley Medical Center.
Mr. Pyle served in the U. S. Marine Corps and was a retired plant manager for D & S Chemical Company in Houma, LA.
He was past Master of Lebanon No. 440 Masonic Lodge of Shreveport, and was also a member of Mount Olivet Baptist Church.
survivors include his wife, Fredye Jo Pyle of Logansport, LA; two daughters, Renee Smith and husband, Mack of Sumrall, MS, and their children, Shonda, Charlie, Mack, Jr. and Nathan; Maria Brown and husband, Bobby of Denham Springs, LA, and their children, Mason, Hunter and Katylin; one sister, Doris Carpenter of Kansas City, MO; and two brothers, Joe Pyle and Louis Pyle both of Odessa, TX.

Mr. Batton, a native and lifelong resident of Minden, died Wednesday, November 28, 2001 in Shreveport, LA.
He was a compressor mechanic at Duke Energy for 13-1/2 years and a member of the Parkway Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J. D. and Maxine Evans Batton.
Survivors are his wife of 27 years, Gayle Barton Batton; sons, Kendall Batton and his wife, Teresa; and Timothy Batton; daughters, Brandy Mooney and her husband, John; and Jessica Batton all of Minden, LA; sister, Karen Batton, Heflin, LA; brother, John W. Batton and his wife, Judy of Hot Springs, AR, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Robinson, a native of Tillatoba, MS, and 12 year resident of Panola, TX, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2001 in Carthage, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Pearl Robinson; brother, Tommy Robinson; and sister, Vera Elkins.
Mr. Robinson is survived by his wife, Vivian Robinson; three sons, Reecie Ray Robinson, Jr., Daril Thomas Robinson and Gary Dell Robinson; three daughters, Nanette McCart and husband, Lawrence Ray, Sharon Stroble and husband, Danny, Abby Hammett and husband, Larry; sister, Dorothy Festervan; brothers, W. G. Robinson, Malcolm Lee Robinson and E. L. Robinson; fourteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

SHREVEPORT, LA - Graveside services for Eleanor H. Houston, 69, will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, December 1, 2001 at Springville Cemetery, Coushatta, LA.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m., Thursday, November 29, 2001 and Friday, November 30, 2001 until 9 p.m. each day and from 9 a.m. until noon Saturday, December 1, 2001 at Rose-Neath Marshall Street Funeral Home.
Eleanor was born February 20, 1932 in Natchitoches Parish, LA, and died Tuesday, November 27, 2001 at Willis-Knighton Pierremont.
During her school years, she was valedictorian and president of her class each year.
After graduation, she went to work for Gulf Oil Corporation.
She later went to work for Hurley Petroleum Corporation as a corporate secretary for thirty years until she retired in 1996.
During her employment, she became a member of the Board of Directors.
She was an avid square and round dancer.
Eleanor enjoyed spending much of her leisure time at her country place near Frierson, LA, as well as much foreign travel.
A member of First United Methodist Church in Coushatta, Eleanor will be missed dearly by her husband, nephew and many friends.
Survivors are her husband of forty-eight years, Fred L. Houston of Shreveport, LA; and nephew, Jack C. Payne, Jr. of Metairie, LA.
A special thanks to her very attentive and devoted doctor, Dr. John D. Bruchhaus.

SHREVEPORT, LA - Services for Mrs. Shuler Wilson, 84, will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, December 1, 2001 at Benevolent Funeral Home, 1624 Milam Street.

Mrs. Wilson passed away Saturday, November 24, 2001 at Doctors' Hospital.
She was born March 12, 1917 in Shreveport, LA, to the late Mr. Albert and Mrs. Carrie Hodges Wilson.
One sister preceded her in death, Alice W. Chambers and one half-brother, Archie Jones.
She joined the Gum Grove Methodist Church at an early age and later, she united with the Saint James United Methodist Church.
At the time of her death, she was a member of the North Congregation Kingdom Hall Jehovah's Witnesses.
She is survived by ten children: five daughters and five sons, Mrs. Carrie Lee (Huey), Edith Singleton, Dessie Lee (Clyde), Ruby Jean Ashley (Robert) all of Shreveport, Nadie Terrell of Los Angeles, CA; sons, Freddie Lee Wilson (Antonella) of Sicily, Italy, Ben L. Wilson (Kathleen), Claude L. Wilson (Cheryl) of Boston, MA, Bobby Ray Wilson of Seattle, WA, and Cornell James Wilson (Gwen) of Shreveport; 31 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren; two special nieces, Freddie Mae England and Minnie Ola Byrd; one nephew, Archie Lee Chambers; a very special granddaughter-in-law, Trina Singleton and a host of other family members and friends.
The family would like to express sincere gratitude to the doctors and staff of Doctors' Hospital ICU Ward and 3rd floor staff.
Daniel Lee Bunch
HOUSTON, TX - Daniel Lee Bunch, 33, of Houston, died Monday, November 27, 2001.
Dan was a graduate of Southwest Texas State University.
He taught voice and drama, served one year as a missionary to Norway, and was currently employed as director of Theater of Arts at A. D. Players in Houston, Texas.
Dan was an active member of Houston First Baptist Church, where he was involved in the music program.
Dan is survived by his wife, Michelle Wolfe Bunch formerly of Waskom, Texas; nine-month-old daughter, Hannah; his mother and step-father, Fran and Bill Hulgan of Lampasas, TX; father, Tom Bunch; three brothers, David, James and Beau and a host of other relatives and friends. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Houston, TX, 1 p.m. Saturday, December 1st.
Memorial service will be held at Houston First Baptist Church on Saturday, December 1st at 3:30 p.m.
