Katie Hawkins Lindsey DiGiovanni McClannahan, a homemaker, died Wednesday at Integrated Health Services in Luling. She was 96. Mrs. McClannahan was born in Cullman, Ala., and lived in Waggaman for the past 45 years. She was previously employed as a waitress at the former Nancy's Steak House. She was a member of Bridge City Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, William L. McClannahan; two sons, Charles and Ralph Lindsey; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held today at 1 p.m. at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Restlawn Park in Avondale.
DOOLEN, FREDERICK ANDRE

Frederick André Doolen, a retired electrical technician for the Federal Aviation Administration, died Wednesday of cancer at his home. He was 65. Mr. Doolen was born in New Orleans and lived in Metairie for the past 30 years. He was a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church and a member of the Right to Life Organization. He was an Air Force veteran. Survivors include his wife, Marie Haddican Doolen; four daughters, Jennifer D. Courville, Elizabeth D. Wilson, Kerri D. Elias and Judith Lydia Doolen; a brother, Philip E. Doolen; and eight grandchildren. A Mass will be said Saturday at noon at St. Ann Catholic Church, 4920 Loveland St., Metairie. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Louis cemetery No. 3. Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Hubert Ratcliff Sr., a retired deputy sheriff with the Orleans Parish Criminal Sheriff's Office, died Monday of a heart attack at Lakeland Medical Center. He was 75. Mr. Ratcliff was born in Tylertown, Miss., and lived in New Orleans for the past 55 years. He attended Hope High School in Tylertown and Jackson State University. He was a member of New Home Church of Christ Holiness. Survivors include his wife, Suvilla Hall Ratcliff; two sons, Hubert Ratcliff Jr. of Pontiac, Mich., and Rogers Ratcliff; three sisters, Berteal Lewis of Jayess, Miss., Pearline Jefferson of Slidell and Earline Bridges of Pontiac; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. at Lower Light Baptist Church, 4422 Ray Ave. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m.. Burial will be in New Home Church of Christ Holiness cemetery in Jayess, Miss. Patricia Ann Arnold, a cook, died Oct. 29 of kidney failure at Memorial Medical Center. She was 49. Ms. Arnold was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. She attended Booker T. Washington High School. She was a cook for many years at Sam's and Pete's Restaurant. She was a member of Tulane Memorial Baptist Church. Survivors include her companion, Emery Foster; three sons, Landrus and Darrell Arnold and Harry Hurst; two daughters, Pamela and Charlene Arnold; her father, Marshall Keelan; her mother, Lucy Arnold; six brothers, Morris, Levi, Wilbert, Robert and James Arnold and Marshall Keelan Jr.; three sisters, Lucille Lawson, Myrtle Keelan and Vernice Wilson; and 11 grandchildren. Kristy Grace Heim, a seventh-grader, died Oct. 29 of pneumococcal meningitis at Children's Hospital. She was 11. Kristy was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. She attended McMain Magnet High School, where she was in the gifted program. She received the CEO's Academic Honors award, was on the Principal's Honor Roll and received the Perfect Attendance award at Bradley Elementary School. She was a member of True Vine Baptist Church. Survivors include her mother, Paula A. Heim; a brother, Carl K. Heim; three sisters, Joaula D. Brion, Asha U. Brion and Ashley N. Heim; and her grandparents, Grace L. Heim and Robert M. Heim. Preston Brown Sr., a retired laborer with Lester's Moving Co., died Nov. 5 of cancer at his home in Luling. He was 73. Mr. Brown was born in Mississippi and lived in New Orleans for many years and in Luling for two years.
