Samuel L. Breaux, a carpenter and printer, died Oct. 30 of kidney failure at Memorial Medical Center. He was 47. Mr. Breaux was born in New Orleans and lived in Omaha, Neb., before returning to New Orleans. He attended Holy Ghost Catholic School and graduated from Boys Town High School in Omaha, Neb. He was a parishioner of Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Survivors include a son, Samuel Johnson; a daughter, Katina Johnson; six brothers, Michael Breaux of Penscola, Fla., and Bobbie, Steven, Christopher and Kevin Breaux and Harrison Breaux III; four sisters, Joyce Heard of Alabama, Linda Breaux, Lisa Ford and Anita Barquet; and a grandchild. A funeral will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Estelle J. Wilson Mortuary, 2715 Danneel St. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park.

Joseph John "Meat Man" Mills Jr., a wholesale meat salesman, died Monday of complications from heart surgery at Baptist Desoto Hospital in Southhaven, Miss. He was 69. Mr. Mills was born in New Orleans and lived in Southhaven for the past year. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include his wife, Argentina Suyupa Davadi Mills; five sons, Joseph "Joey" Mills III and Kenneth, Joseph "Jay," Jesse J. and Joel J. Mills; five daughters, Mary Jo M. Wink, Anne M. McDaniel, Madeleine M. Johnson, Sean M. Sanchez and Tina Marie Wilbanks; a sister, Cecile M. Gandolini; 25 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A Mass will be said Friday at 9:45 a.m. at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St. Visitation will be today from 6 to 10 p.m. A graveside service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Biloxi National cemetery, Biloxi, Miss.

Louis Textor Sr., a retired artist for WDSU television, died Oct. 25 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. He was 87. Mr. Textor was born in New Orleans and lived in Covington for the past three years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was awarded a New Orleans Art Award for graphic design in 1960 for his work at WDSU. Survivors include a son, Louis Textor Jr.; a daughter, Johana Baldwin; two sisters, Gertrude Doussan and Adele Barnes; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held today at 3 p.m. on the lawn of the New Orleans Museum of Art in City Park. Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Milton J. "Skinny" Wells, a retired oil and gas industry worker, died Monday at Kenner Regional Medical Center. He was 77. Mr. Wells was born in Alexandria and lived in Metairie for the past 35 years. He was a member of Osiris-Trowel-Fidelity No. 300 Lodge F&AM;, Farhad Grotto. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, June Nolan Wells; two daughters, Marguerite "Rustie" W. Reynolds of Metairie and Connie W. Hingle of Brookline, Mass.; four brothers, H.B. Wells of Lake Forest, Calf., William J. Wells Jr. of High Springs, Fla., Fenrick M. Wells of Oceanside, Calif., and Clarence "Tony" Wells of Metairie; and three grandchildren. A Masonic service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie. Julia Lindsey, a homemaker, died Sunday at Chalmette Medical Center. She was 92. Mrs. Lindsey was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. Survivors include nieces and nephews. Myrna Jane St. Cyr, a homemaker, died Friday of respiratory failure at Tulane Medical Center. She was 51. Ms. St. Cyr was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. Daniel J. Lewis, a superintendent with the Regional Transit Authority, died Thursday of cancer at his home. He was 64. Mr. Lewis was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. He attended Lafon Elementary, S.J. Green Junior High and Walter L. Cohen High schools, Grambling State University and the University of New Orleans. He was a parishioner of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and a member of Phoenix Lodge No. 226. Survivors include his wife, Lessie Lewis; a son, Dale Lewis; two daughters, Karla Ray and Cindy Lewis; a brother, Reginald Lewis; a sister, Anna Rita Lewis; and five grandchildren. Jessie Lee Polkey, a cab driver for Westbank Cab Co., died Tuesday of a stroke at West Jefferson Medical Center. He was 54. Mr. Polkey was born in Algiers and lived in Marrero and the West Jefferson area for most of his life. Survivors include his companion, Nellie Bissell; four sons, Mickey Bishop, Christopher Polkey, Jessie L. Polkey Jr. and David Whipple; a daughter, Lisa Sharpe; his mother, Louise Polkey; two brothers, Rickey and Arthur Polkey; two sisters, Maggie Clements and Linda Rivera; and five grandchildren.
