Kenneth George Knight, a retired self-employed heavy equipment mechanic, died Tuesday of cancer at his daughter's home in Bush. He was 73. Mr. Knight was born in New Orleans and lived in St. Rose. He was an Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Murle Knight; a daughter, Casandra Bennett; two stepsons, Michael and Mathew Rainey; a stepdaughter, Diane Bourg; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held today at 3 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Pearl River. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Hickory Memorial Gardens.

Marlene Theresa Richardson, a retired nurse's aide, died Monday of cancer at University Hospital. She was 61. Mrs. Richardson was born in Bridge City and lived in New Orleans for the past 35 years. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School. She had worked at Notre Dame Nursing Home and the emergency room of Charity Hospital. Survivors include two sons, Darnell and Keith Porter; a daughter, Jacqueline Sylvester; her mother, Sedonia Rickson; seven brothers, Calvin and Eddie Rickson, Hilton Rickson Jr., Charles Richardson, Reginald Richardson Sr., Kevin Washington and Ronnie Scott; and 10 sisters, Shirley French, JoAnn Hayes, Gladys Richardson, Patricia, Sandra, Verna and Eliska Washington, Jacqueline Louis, Cindy Shepard and Althea Scott. A funeral will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. at Littlejohn's Funeral Home, 7818 Earhart Blvd. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Burial will be in Green Street cemetery.

Julius Joseph Mangerchine, a retired plant operator for the New Orleans Sewerage & Water Board, died Tuesday of cancer at Ochsner Foundation Hospital. He was 75. Mr. Mangerchine was born in Hammond and lived in Harahan for 14 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3297, American Legion Post 3267, Dragons, Knights of Columbus and Dear Dad's Club. Survivors include his wife, Mary Bonano Mangerchine; two sons, Michael and Richard "Rick" Mangerchine; a daughter, Cheryl Rainey; a brother, Gasper Mangerchine Sr.; a sister, Mary Ann DeMartino; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Lamano-Panno-Fallo Funeral Home, 1717 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie. Visitation will be held today from 7 to 10 p.m. and Saturday at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.

Kevin "Big Cix" Raines Sr., a driver with Eveques Towing, died Monday at Charity Hospital of a gunshot wound. He was 32. Mr. Raines was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. He attended Marion Abramson High School. Survivors include his companion, Anita T. McKay; three sons, Kevin Raines Jr., Kraig Good and Kevin Johnson; two daughters, Kevinesha and Kevion Raines; his father, John Raines; his mother, Allaine Martin; five brothers, John Raines Jr. and Larry, Michael, Anthony and Clarence Raines; two sisters, Naomi Mark and Elvetta Raines; and his grandparents, Naomi Martin and George Martin. Lawrence Green, a cook, died Oct. 18 of congestive heart failure at Charity Hospital. He was 59. Mr. Green was born in Abbeville and lived in New Orleans for the past 34 years. He was a cook on charter boats leaving from Empire. Survivors include a son, Lawrence Paul Green; a daughter, Bernice Davis; two stepsons, Terry and Michael Davis; three brothers, Sonny Bowan and Rogers and Warren Green; and three sisters, Dorothy Randall, Ethel Mitchell and Lemon Green. A funeral was held Saturday at Littlejohn Funeral Home. Burial was in Holt cemetery.

Carlo Joseph Giordano Sr., a manager for Hibernia National Bank, died Sunday at Hancock County Hospital in Hancock, Miss., of cancer. He was 57. Mr. Giordano was born in New Orleans and lived in Waveland, Miss., for the past year. Survivors include his wife, Donna E. Giordano; three sons, Carlo Joseph Giordano Jr. and Anthony Paul and Shaun Martin Giordano; two sisters, Jean Manard and Carol Karl; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. A funeral was held Thursday at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home. Burial was in Garden of Memories.

David G. Keiffer Sr., a retired district sales manager for Air Reduction Co., died Tuesday at his home. He was 94. Mr. Keiffer was born in New Orleans and lived in Metairie for the past 60 years. He graduated from Saint Stanislaus College in Bay St. Louis, Miss., and attended Loyola University on a football and basketball scholarship. He was the oldest living alumnus of the Saint Stanislaus Class of 1926. He was a member of the Commercial Athletic Association, serving as president and member of the Hall of Fame. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, president of National Office Management Association, and a volunteer at East Jefferson General Hospital. He was a Coast Guard Reserve veteran. Survivors include two sons, David G. Keiffer Jr. and Michael J. Keiffer, both of New Orleans; two daughters, Patricia K. McAuliffe of Dallas and Jacquelyn K. Vairin; 16 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Ann Church, 4920 Loveland St., Metairie. Visitation will be at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Garden of Memories. Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Mr. Chisholm was born in Woodville, Miss., and lived in Jefferson Parish for the past 47 years. Survivors include his wife, Gwendolyn Wheat Chisholm; a son, Robert Smith; seven daughters, Cassandra C. Bailey, Christina and Carolyn Chisholm, Stephanie L. Brown, Frances B. Mr. Gatipon was born in New Orleans and lived in Diamondhead for 30 years and in Metairie for the past 30 years. He was a member of the New Orleans Sheet Metal Workers Union No. 11. He served in the Army. Survivors include his wife, Josephine Carrara Gatipon; two sons, Louis Gatipon Jr. and Johnny Gatipon; a daughter, Roxanne Estrada; a brother, Ernest Gatipon; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. James of Bakersfield, Calif.; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
