Joe Brown Sr., a retired gardener, died Friday at Meadowcrest Hospital. He was 91. Mr. Brown was born in Pace, Miss., and lived in New Orleans for the past 41 years. He was a member of St. Stephen's Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include four sons, Willie Lee, J.C. and Albert Brown and Larry Townsend; two daughters, Katherine Brown Nickelson and Sarah Brown Anthony; two sisters, Mayola and Mary Brown; 37 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held today at 11 a.m. at St. Stephen's Missionary Baptist Church, 1737 Whitney Ave. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Christian Social cemetery, Gretna. Davis Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Ronell Letroy Bell, a certified welder, died Saturday of injuries suffered in a car accident in Austin, Texas. He was 24. Mr. Bell was born in New Orleans and lived in San Marcos, Texas, for the past three years. He attended Abramson High School and the Gary Job Corps Center. He was a member of Edward Livingston's Band. He was a past member of Community Fellowship Missionary Auxiliary and Mary Ella Amadee's Choir. He was also a Sunday school teacher and a junior steward. He recorded with Smallwood, Small Tyme Family and Cosmic Records. Survivors include a daughter, Destaree Richelle Lee; his father, Peter Brown Jr.; his mother, Victoria M. Bell; two brothers, Peter Brown and James Brown III; two sisters, Rochelle L. Bell of New Orleans and Michelle Brown Mosley of Baton Rouge; and his grandmother, Sylvia Collins Bell. A funeral will be held today at 7:30 p.m. at St. James Methodist Church of Louisiana, 1925 Ursulines Ave. Dismissal will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. James United Methodist Church cemetery in Belle Rose. Kathleen C. Ducote, a homemaker, died Thursday of kidney failure at Ochsner Foundation Hospital. She was 61. Mrs. Ducote was a born in New Orleans and was a lifelong resident of Metairie. Survivors include her husband, Dennis J. Ducote; two sons, Bryan A. and Dennis J. Ducote Jr.; two brothers, Roland and L.J. Ducote; and two grandchildren. A Mass will be said Saturday at 11 a.m. at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie. Vauchon K. Cojoe, a self-employed construction worker, died Friday of a gunshot wound at Charity Hospital. He was 32. Mr. Cojoe was born in New Orleans and lived in Harvey. He attended Booker T. Washington High School and formerly worked for Intrepid Construction Co. Mr. Cojoe had coached football at Hunters Field and was named Coach of the Year in 2001. He was a member of Distinguished Gentlemen Social and Pleasure Club and St. Peter Claver Brotherhood. Survivors include his wife, LaTonja F. Cojoe; three sons, Vauchon Monroe, Kevin Cojoe and Vauchon Cojoe III; two daughters, Jonique Francois and Vauchon Lewis; his mother, Carolyn Riley Cojoe; his stepfather, Voycell Jacob Jr.; his stepmother, Patricia Gibbs; three brothers, Ryan Cojoe, Vauchon Gibbs and Jeremy Butler; three sisters, Vauchel and Michelle Cojoe and Brandy Vinnett; and his grandmothers, Rita Riley and Elizabeth Mondy. Isidore Alvin "Dino" Jones, a heavy equipment operator, died Sunday of cancer at his home. He was 55. Mr. Jones was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. He attended G.W. Carver High School and was a graduate of Southern University in New Orleans, where he earned a bachelor's degree in business administration. Survivors include two sons, Kendrick and Derrien Jones; a daughter, Kristal Jones; his father, Isadore M. Jones; his mother, Genevieve Green Jones; three brothers, Harold Jones, Clyde Jones Sr. and Ernest Jones Sr.; and four sisters, Tanette J. Washington, Carolyn J. Lundy, Vanera J. Bryant of Atlanta and Fredrine J. Matthews. A funeral will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Boissiere-Labat Family Funeral Services, 1703 N. Theresa Pierce Robinson, a former nurse, died Oct. 23 of complications from a stroke at Memorial Medical Center. She was 60. Mrs. Robinson was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. She graduated from Walter L. Cohen High School and attended Delgado Community College School of Nursing. She was a member of the National Association of Female Executives. Survivors include a son, Terrence Pierce; a daughter, Tricia K. Riley; two brothers, Charles Pierce of San Antonio and John Pierce; and three grandchildren. Raymond "Sal" Adolph Salvaggio, a retired salesman for Beach Brothers Furniture, died Wednesday of respiratory failure at Life Care Hospital. He was 73. Mr. Salvaggio was born in New Orleans and lived in Kenner for the past 27 years. He graduated from Francis T. Nicholls High School. He was a former salesman for PepsiCola Co. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Seruntine Salvaggio; two sons, Robert W. Salvaggio and Raymond A. Salvaggio Jr.; three daughters, Marilyn S. Hoffman, Vicki S. Mackenroth and Terri E. Salvaggio; a stepson, Charles E. Auxilien; a brother, Roy J. Salvaggio; a sister, Lorraine S. He was a former merchant mariner, photographer and carpenter. Survivors include his wife, Juliette Schmidt Kain; a son, Raymond Kain of Lacombe; two daughters, Kathleen Durnin and Jane Lockhart; two sisters, Bessie and Lillian Kain, both of New Orleans; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
