Ernest "June" James Wilson Jr., a retired firefighter, died Monday of liver failure at Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He was 62. Mr. Wilson was born in New Orleans and lived in Marrero. He was a former firefighter at W.K.B. Volunteer Fire Station in Avondale and at the New Orleans Lakefront Airport. He also was a volunteer firefighter at the Marrero-Ragusa Volunteer Fire Company in Marrero. Mr. Wilson was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church and was an Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Cross-Wilson; four sons, Elton Wilson of Alabama, Victor Lemons of Temple, Texas, Bricen Wilson and Brian Wilson; three daughters, Sandra Nixon of Austin, Texas, Christina Wilson and Jonté Wilson; four sisters, Shirley Hughes, Barbara Anderson, Beverly Wharton and Gwendolyn James; and 12 grandchildren. A funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Good Hope Baptist Church, 2028 Weyer St., Gretna. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Restlawn Park in Avondale. Davis Mortuary Service is in charge of arrangements.

Thomas Raymond, a former Navy storekeeper, died Monday of liver failure at Dauterive Hospital in New Iberia. He was 43. Mr. Raymond was born in Lafayette and lived in New Iberia. He graduated from New Iberia Senior High School. He served in the Navy for 17 years. Survivors include his wife, Delisa Raymond; a son, DaShawn Raymond; a stepson, Desmond Adams; his mother, Mable Jules; six brothers, Earl Bray, Oliver Dugas, Darryl, Jones and Kenneth Raymond and Frazier Raymond Jr.; and a sister, Dorothy Hornbeak. A funeral will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Naval Support Activity in Algiers. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Providence Memorial Park. D.W. Carmen Thibodaux Hogan, a retired employee of the Rendezvous Restaurant in Maison Blanche, died Wednesday at Our Lady of Wisdom Healthcare Center. She was 89. Mrs. Hogan was born in Amelia and lived in New Orleans and Metairie for the past 50 years. She was a parishioner at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church. Survivors include a son, Frank J. Hogan; a daughter, Frances Hogan Morris; two sisters, Eula Robichaux and Sherry Weaver; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. A funeral was held Saturday at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City. Burial was in Morgan City cemetery. Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Carolyn Ann Clay, a retired teacher, died Nov. 19 of complications from diabetes at her home in Oklahoma City. She was 64. Ms. Clay was born in New Orleans and lived in Oklahoma City for the past 29 years. She graduated from Xavier Preparatory High School and Xavier University and received a master's degree from Oklahoma State University. She taught in the New Orleans and Oklahoma City school systems. She was a member of the American Association of University Women, the National Education Association, the Oklahoma Educational Association and the Oklahoma City Toastmasters Club. She also was active in the Oklahoma City Council on Fair Housing. She was a former member of the Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary Court No. 21 and was a parishioner of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Oklahoma City. Survivors include a sister, Alice Clay Robinson of New Orleans. A memorial Mass will be said Saturday at 9 a.m. at St. Matthias Catholic Church, 4230 S. Broad St. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Burial will be private. D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Virgie Cooper Jordan, a retired employee of Hammond Developmental Center, died Tuesday of a stroke at Lakeview Regional Medical Center. She was 65. Mrs. Jordan was a lifelong resident of Hammond. Survivors include her husband, J.W. Jordan; two sons, James Glen Jordan of Franklinton and Ricky Jordan; two daughters, Sandra Haskell Starkey of Pumpkin Center and Mary Lou Jordan Sharp of Loranger; five brothers, Sidney Cooper of Montgomery, Ala., Edward Henry "Ned" Cooper of California, Charles Cooper of Alexandria, and Lucius Earl and James Cooper; and a sister, Sylvia Wilson of Loranger. A funeral was held Friday at Harry Mckneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond. Burial was in New Beulah Baptist Church cemetery.

Robert Darby, a master mason and bricklayer, died Tuesday of colon cancer at Ochsner Foundation Hospital. He was 79. Mr. Darby was born in Georgetown, S.C., and lived in New Orleans for the past 52 years. Survivors include a sister, Annie Mae Simmons. A funeral will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at St. James Methodist Church of Louisiana, 1925 Ursulines Ave. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Burial will be private. Jeannette Milliett D'Amico, a retired bookkeeper, died Wednesday at East Jefferson General Hospital. She was 82. Mrs. D'Amico was born in New Orleans and lived in Metairie. She was a past treasurer and president of Departmental De Louisiana of the Eight and Forty, a past president of American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 350 and a past president of the Louisiana State American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include two sons, Francis Sr. and Anthony "Tony" D'Amico Jr.; a daughter, Jane D. Wheeler; and five grandchildren. Stanley F. Wucher Sr., an office manager for Mini-Fleet Service Co., died Saturday at Canon Health Care. He was 88. Mr. Wucher was born in New Orleans and lived in Metairie for the past 36 years. He was a past employee at Falstaff Brewing Co., where he worked as a warehouse superintendent. He was a volunteer for East Jefferson Hospital and a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Survivors include a son, Lt. Col. Stanley F. Wucher Jr.; a daughter, Gail W. Barrow; a brother, Elmo Wucher; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Frank Clark Jr., a retired chauffeur, died Thursday at Covenant Nursing Home. He was 87. Mr. Clark was born in Lumberton, Miss., and lived in New Orleans for most of his life. He was a graduate of McDonogh No. 35 Senior High School. He was a member of St. Peter AME Church, where he served on the Usher Board. Survivors include a son, Paul E. Clark of Inglewood, Calif.; a sister, Alice Brokenberry of Houston; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Winston Moore III, ran Cook County Jail

Winston E. Moore III, who as superintendent of Chicago's Cook County Jail is believed to have been the first African-American prison warden in the United States, died Sept. 13 of congestive heart failure at his home in Sun Lakes, Calif. He was 73.
Mr. Moore was born in New Orleans and lived in Chicago for many years before retiring to California.
He attended McDonogh 35 High School, graduated from West Virginia State College with a psychology degree and received a master's degree in psychology from the University of Louisville.
He served three years in the Army.
Mr. Moore is credited with turning around the Cook County Jail, which he ran from 1966 to 1970. It was reported that on his first day as warden, Mr. Moore seized more than 200 weapons and a huge cache of illegal drugs in a facility that had been described as a jungle by the Illinois Crime Commission.
He went on to become executive director of the Cook County Department of Corrections and for a time was security director of the Chicago Housing Authority.
Mr. Moore also had been a psychologist at the Reception and Diagnostic Center in Joliet, Ill., the Youth Center of Illinois State Employment and the Mary McDowell Settlement House.
Survivors include his wife, Mabel L. Moore; three sisters, Myraline Jamison of New Orleans, Helen Jordan of Los Angeles and Juliette Barnes of Chicago. Services were private.
SCHELL, ROSALIE ELIZABETH

Rosalie Elizabeth Schell, a homemaker, died Tuesday at Chalmette Medical Center. She was 92. Mrs. Schell was born in New Orleans and lived in Plaquemines Parish for the past 53 years. Survivors include a son, Albert L. Schell III; a brother, Lee Husson; a sister, Leona Husson; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. A Mass will be said today at 11 a.m. at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens cemetery.
