Alan Christopher Gist, an employee of Gabriel Building Supply, died Sunday at Northoaks Medical Center from injuries received in an auto accident. He was 20. Mr. Gist was a lifelong resident of Hammond. Survivors include his mother, Brenda Gist, and his grandparents, Margaret and Ernie Bryant of Covington and Frances Glass of Madisonville. A funeral will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Geisler Funeral Home, 300 S. Cherry St., Hammond. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m.

Raymond F. Brothers, a retired salesman, died Tuesday at Lakeview Regional Medical Center. He was 82. Mr. Brothers was born in New Orleans and lived in Mandeville for the past three years. He retired from John Morrell & Co. after 31 years of service. Survivors include his wife, Mercidese Gorman Brothers; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Friday at 12:15 p.m. at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.

James Woodson Clark, a retired real estate agent, died Saturday at Chalmette Hospital. He was 91. Mr. Clark was born in Clarksburg, Ind., and lived in New Orleans for the past 72 years. He attended Oregon State University in Corvallis, Ore. Mr. Clark was an Army veteran of World War II and received a silver star, a bronze star and a Purple Heart. He was an opera lover and avid golfer. He was a member of the Society of Realty Appraisers and St. Anna's Episcopal Church, where he was a former senior warden of the vestry. Survivors include three daughters, Emily Clark of Lake Oswego, Ore., Judith Woodman and Barbara Clark; and a grandchild. Services will be private.

Archie Campbell, a retired mechanic, died Sept. 15 at Chateau Living Center. He was 95. Mr. Campbell was born in Clinton, Miss., and lived in New Orleans for more than 50 years. Survivors include a son, Larry Campbell; two grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Calvin J. Young Funeral Home, 2512 LaSalle St. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Holt cemetery.

Elizabeth Carrie Daniels, a homemaker, died Wednesday at Lakeview Regional Medical Center. She was 80. Mrs. Daniels was a lifelong resident of Covington. She was a former employee of attorneys Kerry and Abbie Shields. Survivors include two sons, David Daniels of Houston and James Daniels Jr. of Baton Rouge; a daughter, Lutricha Williams of New Orleans; a brother, Charles Crockett; a sister, Mercedes Powell; and three grandchildren. Waldrenia Nichelle Charles, a supervisor for Burns Security Co., died Wednesday of meningitis at Ochsner Foundation Hospital. She was 21. Ms. Charles was a lifelong resident of Metairie. She graduated from East Jefferson High School. She was a member of the ROTC. Survivors include a son, Tyron Lamar Charles; her father, Walter Bazile Jr.; her mother, Patrice V. Charles Colbert; her stepfather, Wilbur Colbert Sr.; two brothers, Thomas and Wilbur Colbert Jr.; three sisters, Youlika Charles, Shantell Bazile and Stacey Colbert; and her grandparents, Audrey Bazile, Doris and Alexis Bernard, and Wilbert and Ella White. A funeral will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Liberty in Christ Christian Fellowship Church, 10100 River Road, St. Rose. Elaine Herbst Gelpi, an artist and homemaker, died Sunday of cancer at her home. She was 79. Mrs. Gelpi was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. She was a graduate of Eleanor McMain High School. She had been an elder at St. Charles Avenue Presbyterian Church and a member of the Orleans Club, the Garden League, the Whimsies and the Friday Afternoon Club. Survivors include a son, Robert W. Merrick; two daughters, Patricia M. Brinson and Susan M. Harberson; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren. A funeral was held Tuesday at St. Charles Avenue Presbyterian Church. Burial was in in Lake Lawn Mausoleum. Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Waldon Carroll, a retired shipfitter, died Friday of undetermined causes at Ochsner Foundation Hospital. He was 70. Mr. Carroll was born in Picayune, Miss., and lived in Waggaman. Survivors include his wife, Nellie Carroll; four sons, LaRue Carroll of Poplarville, Miss., James Carroll of Harvey, Timothy Carroll of Luling and Ronald Carroll; a daughter, Sheila Zoll of Orlando, Fla.; a brother, Waldo Carroll of Picayune; three sisters, Jeanette Martin of Nicholson, Miss., and Marie Gilcrease and Geneva Kennedy, both of Picayune; and 11 grandchildren. Bennie Margo Alexander, a retired longshoreman, died Sunday of sepsis at Ochsner Foundation Hospital. He was 73. Mr. Alexander was born in Prentiss, Miss., and lived in Kenner for the past 49 years. He was a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church, where he served on the Deacon Board and received the Father of the Year Award. He was a member of the Pride of Waggaman Masonic Lodge No. 42. He served in the Army and received the Korean War Medallion. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Alexander; three sons, William Alexander of Prentiss, Miss., James Alexander of Kenner and Stanley Alexander of Waggaman; three daughters, Debra Hollingsworth of Metairie, Carol A. Lewis of Marrero and Cassandra Moses of Houston; three brothers, William Alexander, Woodrow Alexander of Biloxi, Miss., and Luther Alexander of Prentiss; two sisters, Easter Gray of Nashville, Tenn., and Florence Townsend of Chicago; and 10 grandchildren. Buchholz; his grandparents, Charles K. and Marilyn Gerrets Angelo and Thomas U. and Melba Bechac Buchholz; and two sisters, Francesa and Isabelle Buchholz.
