Eliska Marion Burrows Prevost, a security dispatcher for New Orleans Hilton Riverside Hotel, died Sept. 6 of a heart attack at Pendleton Memorial Methodist Hospital. She was 69. Mrs. Prevost was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. She was a parishioner of St. Simon Peter Catholic Church. Survivors include two sons, Derek and Lionel Burrows; a daughter, Darnell Burrows; two sisters, Rose Marie Perryman and Norma Emelda Lampton; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A Mass will be said today at 10 a.m. at St. Simon Peter Catholic Church, 7600 Gannon Road. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Burial will be in Metairie Cemertery. Maurice B. Salayon, a retired barber and former owner of Maurice's Barber Shop in Violet, died Sept. 6 of complications from a stroke at his home in Bagio City, Philippines. He was 94. Mr. Salayon was born in the Philippines, lived in Violet from 1956 to 1970 and lived in Bagio City for the past 32 years. He served as a steward and cook first class in the Navy during World War II and also served in the U.S. Coast Guard. Survivors include his wife, Demetria Salayon; a son, Nap Salayon; five daughters, Maureen Salas, Angie Salayon and Pia Pelas of St. Bernard Parish and Marie and Nora Salayon; and four grandchildren. A funeral will be held Wednesday in Bagio City.

Heath Bartly Rogan, a student at the University of New Orleans, died Tuesday of cardiac arrest at Memorial Medical Center. He was 19. Mr. Rogan was born in New Orleans and lived in Tampa, Fla., and in Metairie for the past two years. He attended Chamberlain High School in Tampa and Riverdale High School in Jefferson. He provided care for the disabled through Ability Inc. Survivors include his father, Daniel Bartly Rogan Jr. of Metairie; his mother, Christine ‘Chrissie' Hewitson Rogan of Tampa; a sister, Jessica Ruth Rogan of Tampa; and his grandmother, Shirley Hewitson of Sydney, Australia. A Mass will be said today at noon at Our Lady of Divine Providence Catholic Church, 8900 West Metairie Ave, Metairie. Kathleen Ray, a homemaker, died Sept. 6 of congestive heart failure at Touro Infirmary. She was 74. Mrs. Ray was born in Ferriday and lived in New Orleans for the past 60 years. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Townsend; a brother, Samuel Townsend; two sisters, Carrie Marie and Ethel B. Townsend of Ferriday; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Lee Clement Gross, a self-employed fisherman, died Sunday at West Jefferson Medical Center. He was 83. Mr. Gros was a lifelong resident of Barataria. He was a member of the Benevolent Association and the Lafitte-Barataria-Crown Point Volunteer Fire Co. Survivors include his wife, Velma McEvers Gros; two sons, Jerry and Russell Gros; two daughters, Pearl Kuhn and Mildred Chiasson ; two sisters, Marion Basse and Virginia Sapia; six grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nine stepgreat-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. A prayer service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Knights of Columbus Home on Gloria Drive in Lafitte, followed by a Mass at 10:20 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lafitte. Pascal "Pat" Cannaliato Sr., a retired offshore cook, died Sunday of cancer at Stonebridge Nursing Home. He was 70. Mr. Cannaliato was a lifelong resident of Marrero. Survivors include three sons, Louis and Brian Cannaliato and Pascal "Pat" Cannaliato Jr.; five daughters, Patricia DeQueant, Linda Gros, Tina Jordan, Wanda Ford and Terri Cannaliato; a sister, Bernadine "Bernie" Schernbeck; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Lulita "Letty" Gross Villegas died Monday of undetermined causes at Memorial Medical Center. She was 61. Mrs. Villegas was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. She was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. She worked in the clerical division for Tulane University. She was a member of United Metropolitan Spiritual Church of Christ, St. Anthony Divine Spiritual Temple of Christ and Greater St. Stephen Full Gospel Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Emmanuel Villegas and José Villegas III; a daughter, Yolanda Perkins Taylor; three brothers, Michael, Rogers and John Gross; three sisters, Birdie G.
