Matteo "Martin" Tramuta, a retired owner and operator of Martin Tramuta Ice Co., died Monday at Doctors Hospital of Jefferson. He was 85. Mr. Tramuta was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. He was a former musician and leader of the Martin Tramuta Orchestra. Survivors include a son, Salvador Anthony Tramuta; a daughter, Josie T. Fridley of Houston; two sisters, Patty Ferrara and Josie LaPolla; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Lake Lawn Park.
RUBICK, CLARA K.

Clara K. Rubick, a retired medical abstractor with the state of Louisiana, died Aug. 26 at her home. She was 78. Mrs. Rubick was born in Dallas City, Ill., and lived in River Ridge. She graduated from Shariton High School, Shariton, Iowa, and Edgewater Hospital School of X-Ray in Chicago. She was a Navy veteran. Survivors include a son, Steve Garner; a daughter, Jeanette Rubick; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A funeral was held Aug. 31 at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home. Burial was private.
KIRKLIN, MILDRED ALBERT

Mildred Albert Kirklin, a retired homemaker, died Sunday of complications from diabetes at Riverlands Health Care Center in Lutcher. She was 76. Mrs. Kirklin was born in Hester and lived in New Orleans and Lutcher. She attended St. James Parish schools and was a member of the Daughters of the Universal Eastern Stars. Survivors include a son, Nelson Kirklin of New Orleans; a brother, Roosevelt Albert; her stepmother, Mary Albert; 22 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held today at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Baptist Church, Highway 44 in Paulina. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery in Paulina. Karen Gueringer Porter, a former accountant and supervisor, died Saturday of myocardial infarction at University Hospital. She was 50. Ms. Porter was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. She graduated from Xavier Preparatory School, received a bachelor's degree in accounting from Southern University at New Orleans and attended Southern University School of Law. She formerly worked for the city of New Orleans Department of Accounting, Harrah's Casino and Bally's Casino. Survivors include a son, Myron Jerry Porter Jr.; a daughter, Marya J. Porter; her father, Curtiss Gueringer; her mother, Gloriadine Barard Gladstone; her stepfather, Anthony Gladstone; her stepmother, Lillie Gueringer; and two grandchildren. A Mass will be said Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 7300 Crowder Blvd. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Lake Lawn Mausoleum. Doris Colson Frederick, a retired ward secretary at Slidell Memorial Hospital, died of undetermined causes at her home. She was 73. Mrs. Frederick was born in New Orleans and lived in Slidell. She was a graduate of Xavier Prep and Straight Business College. She was a member of the Legion for St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Slidell. Survivors include her husband, Willard Frederick Sr.; two sons, Edward and Christopher Trepagnier; a daughter, Denis Trepagnier; a stepson, Willard Frederick Jr.; a stepdaughter, Sarah Ann Garrett; a brother, Anthony Colson Sr.; 12 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Tina L. Gautreau, a homemaker, died Sunday of complications of lupus at Memorial Medical Center. She was 66. Mrs. Gautreau was born in Bluefields, Nicaragua, and was a lifelong resident of Metairie. She was a parishioner of St. Christopher Catholic Church. Survivors include three sons, James Gautreau of Greenville, S.C., Rene Gautreau of Meraux and Glen Gautreau; a brother, James Leeming of Miami; and three sisters, Theresa Meagher of Miami, Amira Bacon of Houston and Kathleen Alvarez. Bessie Daniels Robertson, a retired registered nurse in pediatrics for Memorial Medical Center, died Aug. 31 of cancer at her home. She was 74. Mrs. Robertson was born in Marianna, Ark., lived in Oak Grove and lived in New Orleans for the past 56 years. She received a bachelor's degree in nursing from William Carey College. She had owned and operated Exclusive Beauty Salon for 18 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church and Assembly of God Church in Pioneer. She was the first female member of the Barbers & Beauty Association. Survivors include a brother, Marshall Daniels, and three sisters, Catherine Daniels, Earleen Griffs and Pat Burger. A memorial service will be held today at 4 p.m. at Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp Funeral Home, 4127 S. Claiborne Ave. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Burial will be at a later date in Oak Grove Cemetery.

He was born in New Orleans, lived in Jefferson for the past year and a half and lived in f Metairie for more than 30 years. He worked for Greyhound Bus Lines for more than three decades. He was a high school graduate. Survivors include his former wife, Evelyn McLaughlin of Mandeville. A funeral will be held today at noon at P.J. Natalie Elaine Price, a comptroller, died Sept. 5 of undetermined causes in Concord Mills, N.C. She was 34. Mrs. Price was born in New Orleans and lived in Charlotte, N.C., for the past four years. She was a graduate of Marion Abramson High School and graduated from Xavier University with a degree in business finance. She was a comptroller for Copeland's Restaurants and payroll adjuster for Lakeview Living Center. Survivors include her husband, Joshua Price; a son, Joshua Price II; a daughter, Sharae Price; her mother, Gloria Harris; two brothers, Nathaniel Harris of Atlanta and Travas Lee; and two stepsisters, Stephanie Jenkins and Denise Chambliss. Julia Palmer, a retired teacher and librarian with the New Orleans Public Library system, died Aug. 30 of diabetes at Touro Infirmary. She was 62. A lifelong resident of New Orleans, Mrs. Palmer graduated from Booker T. Washington High School and Grambling University. She received her master's degree from Southern University in Baton Rouge. She formerly taught at Riverdale High School, John Martyn High School and Bunche Village Middle School. She belonged to the First Zion Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a member of Usher Board No. 2, the Senior Deaconess Board, the Gospel Chorus and the Young Matron Auxiliary, where she was a former president. She was a member of the Japonica Club and the Neo-Epicureans Club. Survivors include her father, Benjamin F. Palmer; two daughters, Edwa Major and Sometria Jones; two sisters, Rosalean P. Conway of Avondale and Joycelyn P. Jones of Dallas; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Lee was born in Baton Rouge and lived in New Orleans for the past 35 years. She graduated from Newcomb College and received a master's degree from Tulane University. She was a member of the American Association of Teachers of French, Phi Delta Kappa and Phi Mu Sorority. Survivors include her husband, G. Avery Lee; her mother, E.A. Salassi of Slidell; two stepsons, G. Avery Lee Jr. and Gregory Lee; a stepdaughter, Jeni-Su Lacoste of Lake Charles; a sister, Susan George of Slidell; and a grandchild.
