WARREN, LANCE MICHAEL

Lance Michael Warren, a laborer, died Saturday of a gunshot wound in Jefferson Parish. He was 23. Mr. Warren was born in Marrero and lived in Harvey for many years. Survivors include two sons, Kavin Michael and Kain Michael Warren; his mother, Donna N. Colna; his stepfather, James Colna; two sisters, Kristy Warren and Anna Colna; his grandparents, Herman and Isabel Nolan; and his stepgrandmother, Margaret Colna. A graveside service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Westlawn Memorial Park in Gretna. Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

MAGEE, JAMES HERBERT

James Herbert Magee, a retired brick mason, died Wednesday at Lawrence County Nursing Center in Monticello, Miss. He was 77. He was born in Monticello and lived in New Orleans for many years before returning to Monticello. He graduated from Masonry School in Prentiss, Miss. He was a former deacon at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the American Legion and the Prince Hall Masons Monticello Lodge No. 348. Survivors include his wife, Marion L. Magee; three daughters, Regina Hudson of Philadelphia, Miss., and Rosalind Magee Peychaud and Catherine Magee, both of New Orleans; two sisters, Nira West of Chicago and Ardezzie Lewis; and three grandchildren. A funeral will be held today at 2 p.m. at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Monticello. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home in Prentiss is in charge of arrangements.

RUSSELL, MARY ALICE

Mary Alice Russell, a homemaker, died Tuesday of pneumonia at St. Claude Hospital. She was 78. Mrs. Russell was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. Survivors include five sons, James, Lawrence, Michael, Malcolm and Walter Russell; seven daughters, Mary, Francis, Artimese and Augustine Russell, Viola Gray, Mildred Mays and Linda Dupssis; 27 grandchildren; and 46 great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Christ Temple Church, 1339 Gallier St. Burial will be in Restlawn Cemetery. Heritage Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.

JOHNSON, ARNOLD C. SR.

Arnold C. Johnson Sr., a retired self-employed auto mechanic, died Monday at Waldon Heath Care Center. He was 93. Mr. Johnson was born in North Dakota, lived in New Orleans for many years and lived in Metairie for the past 44 years. He was a member of the New Orleans Jazz Club. Survivors include his wife, Doris Andry Johnson; two sons, Arnold Johnson Jr. and Bryan Johnson; four daughters Louise Zanca, Gloria L. Rodrigue, Patricia P. Johnson and Lynn D. Johnson; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. A funeral will be held today at 10 a.m. at Lamana-Panno-Fallo Funeral Home, 1717 Veterans Memorial Blvd. Burial will be in Garden of Memories.

JENKINS, KEITH MICHAEL SR.

Keith Michael Jenkins Sr., a surgical technician, died Sunday of undetermined causes at his home. He was 42. Mr. Jenkins was born in New Orleans and lived in Harvey for the past 10 years. He was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School and attended Southern University at New Orleans. He was a surgical technician for University Hospital for 20 years. He was a member of Greater St. Stephen Full Gospel Baptist Church and The Young Men Olympian Furious Five Social and Pleasure Club. Survivors include his wife, Trina McBride Jenkins; three sons, Ke'Michael Jones, Kenneth Jenkins and Keith Michael Jenkins Jr.; three daughters, Keonia Jones and Lakeisha and Keoka Jenkins; two stepsons, Bobby Bullard and Nathaniel Pittman; five sisters, Debra Farve, Desiree Bradley, Hannah Sondra Green, Zeta Ann White and Bridgette Jenkins; three brothers, Karl and Kirk Jenkins and Romalis Jenkins Jr.; and five grandchildren. A funeral will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Greater St. Stephen Full Gospel Baptist Church, 2308 South Liberty St. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Providence Memorial Park. Estelle J. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

PRICE, REGINALD J. ‘BUTTERMAN'

Reginald J. "Butterman" Price died Friday of gunshot wounds on Silver Lily Lane in Marrero. He was 18. Mr. Price was a lifelong resident of Marrero. Survivors include his father, Reg Reginald Price ; his mother, Djuna Stevens; his grandparents, Joseph and Ruth Stevens; and two sisters, Rocquil A. and Rachell A. Price. A funeral will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Davis Mortuary Service, 6820 West Bank Expressway, Marrero. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Burial will be in Restlawn Park in Avondale.

VANDRELL, MILDRED LARESCHE

Mildred Laresche Vandrell, a former employee of Southcoast Sugar Corp., died Sunday at Lakeview Regional Medical Center. She was 90. Mrs. Vandrell was born in New Orleans and lived in Mandeville for the past two years. Survivors include a son, Henry L. Vandrell Jr.; a daughter, Jerilynn V. St. Romain; a sister, Melvie L. Krider of Granbury, Texas; five grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. A Mass will be said today at 1:15 p.m. at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Cypress Grove Cemetery.

DeMOLLE, SHERRILL L. ‘LIL DADDY'

Sherrill L. "Lil Daddy" DeMolle, a former employee of Plaquemines Parish government, died Saturday of liver disease at University Hospital. He was 40. Mr. DeMolle was born in New Orleans and lived in Port Sulphur. Survivors include a daughter, Jenny Lynn DeMolle; three brothers, James, Warren and Robert DeMolle; and six sisters, Willie Mae DeMolle, Josephine Gibson, Beatrice Ragas, Elizabeth Lewis, Cherren Barthelemy and Jill Williams. A Mass will be said Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Louisiana 23, Port Sulphur. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Barthelemy Cemetery in Port Sulphur. Davis Mortuary Service is in charge of arrangements.

DANTIN, JACKSON PAUL SR.

Jackson Paul Dantin Sr., a retired electronics technician for Avondale Shipyard, died Tuesday of heart failure at Meadowcrest Hospital. He was 76. Mr. Dantin was a lifelong resident of Westwego. He graduated from Gretna High School. He was a former employee of Celotex Corp. He was a volunteer baseball coach at the Catfish Bourgeois Park in Westwego. He also served in the Coast Guard. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Pizzalato Dantin; two sons, Keith Dantin and Jackson Dantin Jr.; three daughters, Sheron Dantin Boudoin, Elmira Dantin and Robin Dantin Dominique; a brother, Raymond Dantin; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A Mass will be said today at 10 a.m. at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. Burial will be in Gates of Heaven Mausoleum of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery in Westwego.

POWELL, JOYCE MARIE

Joyce Marie Powell, a homemaker, died Thursday of cardiac arrest at Charity Hospital. She was 46. Mrs. Powell was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. She graduated from George Washington Carver High School and attended Delgado Community College. Survivors include a daughter, Francis Aline Powell; three brothers, Wallace Cotlon, and Preston and Frankie Powell; and seven sisters, Lucille Gordon, Lillie Cotlon, Dorothy Fields, Helen Reece, Rosemary Coleman, Theresa Smith and Deborah Matthews. A funeral will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at New Life Evangelistic Family Worship Center, 2301 Delery St. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park. Gertrude Geddes Willis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

TRAUGOTT, EDGAR L.

Edgar L. Traugott, a retired division office manager for Bass Enterprises Inc., died Sept. 1 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Hot Springs Village, Ark. He was 87. Mr. Traugott was born in Cushing, Okla., lived in New Orleans for 34 years and has lived in Hot Springs Village for the past 19 years. Survivors include his wife, Fern Traugott; a son, Robert Traugott of Lafayette; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A funeral was held Sept. 3 at Faith Lutheran Church in Hot Springs Village. A graveside service was held Sept. 4 in Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid, Okla. Memorial Park Cemetery handled arrangements.

PENTON, JOHN ADAM

John Adam Penton, a painter, died Sunday in Bush of injuries suffered in an auto accident. He was 23. Mr. Penton was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. Survivors include his wife, Danielle St. Pierre Penton; his father, Marvin K. Penton; his mother, Constance Armstrong Penton; his stepmother, Linda Penton; three brothers, Tommy Joe Spencer of Mandeville, Thomas Elton Penton and Randy Spencer; a sister, Robin Spencer; and his grandmother, Carmella Armstrong of Schenectady, N.Y. A funeral will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home in Bogalusa. Visitation will be today from 5 to 10 p.m. Burial will be in Penton Cemetery, Talisheek.
