BOYD, DR. ALAN R.

May 31, 2001

Dr. Alan R. Boyd, a psychiatrist, died May 12 of undetermined causes at his home. He was 51. Dr. Boyd was born in Louise, Texas, and lived in New Orleans for the past 10 years. He received a master's degree from Texas A&M; University and a doctorate from Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Boyd was a resident and professor at Tulane Medical School. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Ceitlin Boyd; a son, Scott Alan Boyd; his father, John Hamilton Boyd; his mother, Lenore Frances Anglin Boyd; his stepmother, Myrtle J. Boyd; two brothers, James Robin and John Boyd III; a stepbrother, Robert Boyd; and four stepsisters, Teresa, Ann and Debby Boyd and Melody Medders. A memorial service was held May 17 at Tulane Medical School. Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

ASSMUS, EUNICE BISTES LEAUMONT

June 1, 2001

Eunice Bistes Leaumont Assmus, a retired mortgage recorder with the city of New Orleans, died Wednesday at Circle of Friends Residence. She was 83. Mrs. Assmus was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. Survivors include three daughters, Beverly Biggs Hawkins, Darlene Johnson and Lynne Chaplain; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A Mass will be said today at 12:30 p.m. at All Faiths Funeral Home, 5200 Canal St. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Louis cemetery No. 3.

FAUCHEUX, ALLEN JOSEPH

May 16, 2002

Allen Joseph Faucheux, retired from RCA Service Co., died Monday at East Jefferson Hospital. He was 81. Mr. Faucheux was born in LaPlace and lived in Metairie for 51 years. He was a parishioner of St. Ann Church. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran. Survivors include his wife, Winnie Tassia Faucheux; a son, Brian James Faucheux; a daughter, Susan Faucheux Pitts; a brother, Elmo Faucheux; a sister, Therese McTopy; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A Mass will be said today at noon at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Garden of Memories.

LAWLESS, MICHAEL EDWARD

May 16, 2001

Michael Edward Lawless, a gymnastics instructor and personal trainer, died Saturday of injuries received in an auto accident on Louisiana 59 between Abita Springs and Mandeville. He was 41. Mr. Lawless was born in Bowling Green, Ky., and lived in Mandeville for the past year. Survivors include two daughters, Allison and Shannon Lawless. A funeral will be held today at 11 a.m. at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.

BELLONI, ETHEL HEIDER

June 05, 2001

Ethel Heider Belloni, a retired bookkeeper with the Church Supply House, died Sunday of respiratory failure at Waldon Health Care Center in Kenner. She was 88. Mrs. Belloni was born in New Orleans and lived in Metairie for the past 49 years. She did volunteer work at St. Augustine Grammar School and St. Aloysius High School and for the Mother's Club and rectory of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Metairie. She also was treasurer of that parish's Altar Society for more than 20 years. She was a volunteer at East Jefferson General Hospital for 20 years, logging more than 5, 200 hours of service. Survivors include a daughter, Ethel B. Tarleton of Kenner; three sons, Kenneth J. Belloni of Plano, Texas, Robert J. Belloni of Mandeville and Nathaniel F. Belloni Jr.; a sister, Armide H. Chenevert of Baton Rouge; 13 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. A Mass will be said today at noon at Lamana-Panno-Fallo Funeral Home, 1717 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in St. Louis cemetery No. 3.

ROONEY, TIMOTHY COLE

June 9, 2001

Timothy Cole Rooney, a newborn, died Wednesday of lung failure at Memorial Medical Center. Survivors include his mother, Dorinda Hebert Rooney; his father, Roland M. Rooney; two brothers, James Davis and Zachary Rooney; two sisters, Madison and Paris Rooney; his grandparents, Michael and Gloria Hebert and Linda Lindsay; and his great-grandparents, Roland Lindsay, and Arden and Marie Hebert. A funeral will be held Monday at noon at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Carrollton cemetery.

PAUL, WASHBURN JR.

May 29, 2001

Washburn Paul Jr., a retired personnel assistant, died Thursday at his home. He was 85. Mr. Paul was born in Anniston, Ala., and lived in Metairie for the past 53 years. Survivors include his wife, Laura Hurd Paul; two sons, Washburn Paul III and David Dumont Paul; a daughter, Sandra Paul Bridges; two sisters, Marietta Paul Sigler and Elizabeth Paul Chabaud; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held today at 10:30 a.m. at Greenwood cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. at All Faiths Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd.

LEWIS, JOHN BENJAMIN ‘JOHNNY'

June 7, 2001

John Benjamin "Johnny" Lewis, a retired nursing assistant, died Monday of a heart attack at Pendleton Memorial Methodist Hospital. He was 79. Mr. Lewis was born in New Orleans and lived in New York City for many years before returning to New Orleans. He lettered in track and field, baseball and swimming at New York High School. He was a parishioner of St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church. He was an Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Gloria B. Lewis; three sons, Clinton, Mark and Robin Lewis; two daughters, Lubertha Edwards Hess and Dessadra Millet Marshall; a brother, Barry Lewis of Los Angeles, Calif.; a sister, Carol Lewis of California; 19 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A Mass will be said Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church, 4700 Pineda St. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Mausoleum.

ANTHONY, ALTHEA M.

June 1, 2001

Althea M. Anthony, a homemaker, died Tuesday of sepsis at University Hospital. She was 67. Mrs. Anthony was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. She was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. Survivors include four daughters, Shireen M.A. Molden, Yvette A. Davis, Antoinette Greene and Ayanna Ptah; and seven grandchildren. A funeral will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. at D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home, 3933 Washington Ave. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Burial will be private.

LeBEOUF, CAROLYN JOSEPH

June 9, 2001

Carolyn Joseph LeBeouf, a former teacher with the Ascension Parish school system, died of cancer in Baltimore, Md. She was 54. Mrs. LeBeouf was born in New Orleans and lived in Maryland for the past five years. Survivors include her husband, Larry LeBeouf Sr.; a daughter, Bianka LeBeouf Smith; two sons, Murry and Larry LeBeouf Jr.; her mother, Doris Joseph; three brothers, Earl, Ronald and Philip Joseph; and three sisters, Sylvia Joseph, Oneida Swain and Julie Tickles. A Mass will be said today at noon at St. James Catholic Church, 6613 Louisiana 18 (River Road), in St. James. The rosary will be said at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

JEANDRON, ANNA MAE ROSE FUNK BONGARD

May 18, 2001

Anna Mae Rose Funk Bongard Jeandron, a retired clerk at Walgreen's Drug Store, died Wednesday at her home. She was 77. Mrs. Jeandron was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. She was a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church and the American Association of Retired Persons Chapter No. 1965. Survivors include a son, Stephen Jeandron; a daughter, Pauline Jeandron Motto of St. Rose; her mother, Suzie LaRose Bongard; and a granddaughter. A Mass will be said Saturday at 11 a.m. at Bultman Funeral Home, 3338 St. Charles Ave. Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. and Saturday at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Cypress Grove cemetery.

LAVIOLETTE, LOIS ‘DEBBIE' SIMONEAUX

May 16, 2001

Lois "Debbie" Simoneaux Laviolette, a supervisor at Thrift City, died May 3 of heart failure at East Jefferson General Hospital. She was 61. Mrs. Laviolette was born in New Orleans and lived in Metairie for the past 35 years. Survivors include her husband, Edward Antoine Laviolette Sr.; a son, Edward Antoine Laviolette Jr. of Abita Springs; two daughters, Lori Ann Laviolette Brown of Mandeville and Charleen Marie Laviolette Sorensen of Abita Springs; her mother, Ivy Ann Simoneaux; a brother, Raymond Simoneaux; three sisters, Shirley Leblanc, Dorothy Doussan and Frances Boos; and seven grandchildren. A Mass was said May 7 at All Faiths Funeral Home. Burial was in Greenwood cemetery.
