Charles Norman Schneider Sr., a retired insurance agent, died Friday of cancer at West Jefferson Medical Center. He was 73. Mr. Schneider was born in New Orleans and lived in Marrero for the past 10 years. Survivors include his wife, Mary Mabry Schneider; a son, Karl M. Schneider; a daughter, Delores S. Blankenship; two stepsons, Jim and Pete J. Mabry; two stepdaughters, Mary D.M. Swanner and Vicki M. Chapman; a brother, Bert Schneider; four sisters, Norma and Barbara Schneider, Rose Bordlee and Iris Clement; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and 10 step grandchildren. Wilma "Billie" Brock Trauth, a homemaker, died Tuesday at her home. She was 81. Mrs. Trauth was born in Kenner and lived in Ocean Springs, Miss., for the past 45 years. Survivors include a daughter, Terrilee Trauth Young; a brother, John "Buddy" Brock of Kenner; a sister, Ruth Brock Walker of Norco; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild. A funeral will be held today at 10 a.m. at L.A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home, 2607 Williams Blvd., Kenner, followed by a Mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 1908 Short St., Kenner. Francis William Morrow, a service station owner, died Tuesday at East Jefferson General Hospital. He was 76. Mr. Morrow was born in New Orleans and lived in Metairie for the past 43 years. He owned and operated Morrow's Gulf Service Station. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Kruebbe Morrow; a son, William Francis Morrow; a brother, Donald A. Morrow; and a sister, Mary Joyce Howard. A Mass will be said Friday at 11 a.m. at Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp Funeral Home, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd., Metairie. Visitation will be today from 6 to 10 p.m. and Friday beginning at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Garden of Memories.

Annie L. Poole Schnell, a homemaker, died Thursday of renal failure at Meadowcrest Hospital. She was 66. Ms. Schnell was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. John "Jack" Lavelle Pfeffer, a professional engineer, died April 19 of heart failure in San Diego. He was 72. Mr. Pfeffer was born in New Orleans and lived there most of his life before retiring and moving to Woodland Park, Colo. He was a graduate of Fortier High School and graduated from the University of Southwestern Louisiana. He was a professional engineer, active in marine drilling rig design from early inland barges to North Sea semisubmersibles, and was a consultant to both insurance and legal professions. He was also a newspaper carrier for The Times-Picayune. He was an Eagle Scout. Survivors include his wife, Hellen Glass Pfeffer; two sons, John Blair of Laguna Beach, Calif., and Kurt Arthur of Boca Raton, Fla.; a brother, Kenneth Donald of Carlsbad, Calif.; two half-sisters, Jean Hood of Killeen, Texas, and Betty Lesch of Lufkin, Texas; and two grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Friday at 4 p.m. at New Orleans City Park, Shelter No. 5. In the event of rain, the service will be held at 4602 Orleans Ave.

Eugene Porter, a retired bus driver for the Regional Transit Authority, died Friday of a heart attack at Ochsner Foundation Hospital. He was 58. Mr. Porter was born in Madison, Miss., and lived in New Orleans for the past 37 years. He graduated from East Flora High School in Flora, Miss. He was a former cab driver for Yellow Cab Co. He was a member of the RTA labor union and a former member of My Redeemer Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Verma Porter; a son, Eugene J. Porter; two daughters, Janiene C. Jessie and Tiffany Cloudie; his mother, Mary C. Porter of Madison; three brothers, Joseph Porter and Robert Porter Jr., both of Madison, and Willie C.
