Minister Barry Edmond "B.J." Jackson, a minister with Heartland Ministries, drowned Sept. 7 in Labelle, Mo. He was 39. Mr. Jackson was born in New Orleans and lived in Labelle for the past year. He was a graduate of Marion Abramson High School and Americo Technical school. He was a former waiter and chef. Survivors include his wife, Lavon Armour Jackson; a son, Antonio Reed of Atlanta; two stepdaughters, Lashon Drummond and Latrice Armour; his stepfather, Otis Stansberry Sr.; three brothers, Brian Scott of Alpharetta, Ga., Bruce Scott of Conyers, Ga., and Otis Stansberry Jr. of Las Vegas; and three sisters, Brigitte Jackson of Powder Springs, Ga., Orlinda Stansberry-Jackson of Kennesaw, Ga., and Betty Jackson-Bergeron. A funeral will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Franklin Avenue Baptist Church, 2515 Franklin Ave. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Providence Memorial Park. LEMOINE, JEAN-RAPHAEL E'TIENNE

Jean-Raphael E'tienne Lemoine, a computer technician, died Tuesday of cancer at his home. He was 20. Mr. Lemoine was born in Milton, Fla., and lived in Slidell for the past 10 years. He was a home school graduate. Survivors include his father, Stephen H. Lemoine; his mother, Petra Jean Philpott Lemoine; three brothers, Valjean, Christopher Pierre and Armand Lemoine; three sisters, Michelle, Arielle and Gabrielle Lemoine; and his grandparents, James Philpott, Jean Philpott and Amedea Lemoine. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at New Jerusalem Worship and Praise Center in Pearl River. Private burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Calvin Johnson Sr., a retired cook, died Saturday of congestive heart failure at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. He was 79. Mr. Johnson was born in Silas, Ala., and lived in Abita Springs for many years. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth McKeller Johnson; three sons, Jimmie, Melvin and Calvin Johnson Jr.; four daughters, Linda Freeman, Gwendolyn Johnson, Evelyn Leslie and Janice Vick; 25 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Greater Starlight Baptist Church, 521 W. 28th Ave., Covington. Visitation will begin today at 6 p.m. at the church. Ann Robertson Bergenthal, a homemaker, died Sunday of heart failure at her home. She was 70. Mrs. Bergenthal was born in Hammond and lived in Harahan and New Sarpy. Survivors include her husband, Clemons Bergenthal Sr.; five sons, Gregory Spears of Chalmette, Alton Spears Jr. of Paulina, Geoffrey Spears of Metairie, Clemons Bergenthal Jr. and Kyle Bergenthal of New Sarpy; a daughter, Marlee Bergenthal of New Sarpy; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Ina Lee Grammer, a retired social worker, died Sunday at her home. She was 88. Mrs. Grammer was born in Covington County, Miss., and lived in Algiers for many years. She worked as a social worker for First Baptist Church for 50 years. Survivors include a daughter, Eleanor G. Carroll; four sisters, Delma Cassaro of Bryan, Texas, Ruth Junot of Crestview, Fla., Fay Albrecht of Reserve and Julia Sorenson of New Orleans; and a grandchild. Jack "Paw-Paw" Moran, a heavy equipment operator with Local Union 46, died Wednesday of cancer at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. He was 58. Mr. Moran was a lifelong resident of Pumpkin Center. He was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Sharon Coates Moran; two sons, Jackie "Bodie" Moran Jr. and Todd Allen Moran; a daughter, Amber M. Martin; and five grandchildren. A funeral will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Giesler Funeral Home, Albany. Edward John Ziegler, a retired salesman, died Saturday of pulmonary fibrosis at Tulane Medical Center. He was 71. Mr. Ziegler was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. He graduated from S.J. Peters High School and attended Delgado Community College and the University of Houston. He was a retired salesman for Paul's Beauty Supply and Glazer Liquor Cos. He was a former member and past co-captain of the Krewe of Carrollton and was on the committee for the Krewe of Iris. He was an Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Lowery Ziegler; two daughters, Cheryl Mulligan and Roxanne Ziegler; a grandchild; and a step grandchild. A funeral will be held today at 2 p.m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., Metairie. Visitation will be at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Metairie Cemetery.

Patrick Henry Estrade, a letter carrier, died Aug. 23 at East Jefferson General Hospital of a heart attack. He was 55. Mr. Estrade was born in New Orleans and lived in Jefferson Parish for the past 28 years. He was a Navy veteran. Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Constant Estrade; six sons, Joseph P., James P., John P., Jude P., Jacob P. and Joshua P. Estrade; and a brother, Ronald L. Estrade.
