Thelma M. (Bennett) Thomson, 77, of Andover died Wednesday, Aug. 4, at Wingate at Andover.
Mrs. Thomson was born in Lawrence. She was a graduate of Punchard High and Bryant MacIntosh Secretarial School.
She was a former medical secretary for local doctors.
Mrs. Thomson was a member of Free Christian Church and past matron of Andover chapter of Eastern Star.
Members of her family include her husband, George Thomson of Andover; son and daughter-in-law, George and Sharon Thomson of Andover; sister, Helen Hirsch of Methuen; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held Saturday at Burke Funeral Home. Burial was in Spring Grove Cemetery.

Nathaniel T. Machain
Thursday, August 12, 1999
Nathaniel Turner Machain, 36, of Andover died Thursday, Aug. 5, at his brother's home after a three-year battle with cancer.
Mr. Machain was born in Plymouth and graduated from the University of New Hampshire.
He was vice president of A.A.T. Communications Inc. of Lawrence where he worked for the past seven years.
He attended South Church.
Mr. Machain was an avid skier and enjoyed music, sports and boating.
Members of his family include his wife, Janice J. (Judkins) Machain of Andover; daughters, Amy Rose Machain and Molly Jane Machain, also of Andover; parents, Andre and Jane (Turner) Machain of Freedom, N.H., grandmother, Martha C. Turner of Hillsborough, N.H.; brother, Robert Machain of Salem, N.H.; sisters, Kimberley Castelot and Marthe Kelly, both of Manchester, N.H.; and two nieces.
A funeral service was held Saturday at South Church.
Burial was in Spring Grove Cemetery.
Arrangements were by Dewhirst & Conte Funeral Home.

Katherine R. Dow

Katherine Ryley Dow of Northport, N.Y., died of congestive heart failure last Monday at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn, N.Y.
Mrs. Dow was educated in Andover and North Andover and graduated from Johnson High in 1927. The former Andover resident had also lived in Lawrence for many years.
She was a bookkeeper at John W. Bolton in South Lawrence and at Whitin Machine Works in Whitinsville.
Mrs. Dow served with the Red Cross in India during World War II.
After her marriage to Edward Brady of Uxbridge in 1947 she was a volunteer for Catholic Charities. Following her husband's death in 1959, Mrs. Dow lived and worked in New York City when she married Charles W. Dow, an insurance executive in Huntington, N.Y. Mr. Dow died in 1989.
Members of her family include her brother, Robert Ryley of Huntington, N.Y.; stepchildren, John Dow of Tucson, Ariz., Melinda Hyatt of Tampa, Fla., Michael Dow of Greenlawn, N.Y., and Susan Clark of Titusville, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews, including James Ryley of Lawrence.
A service was held Wednesday at Jacobsen's Funeral Home in Huntington, N.Y. Burial was in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in North Andover.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 25, in Lawrence.

Vincent T. Cox

Vincent T. "Bud" Cox, 76, of Andover died Friday, Aug. 13, at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.
Mr. Cox was born and educated in Lawrence. He was a graduate of Boston College.
Mr. Cox served in the Air Force during World War II in China, Burma and India.
He was a chemist and in chemical sales for UNOCAL of California for more than 25 years and then a courier for Zeneca Resins for 10 years.
Members of his family include his wife of 46 years, Dorothy B. (Barry) Cox of Andover; daughters, Diane Cox of Andover, Martha Fraser of Manchester and her husband, Michael Fraser, Sheila Cox of Essex and Amy Morris of Billerica and her husband, John Morris; a sister, Sister Mary Cox S.O.C. of Halifax; and one granddaughter.
A funeral held Monday at Hart-Wallace Funeral Home in Lawrence was followed by a funeral Mass at St. Patrick Church, also in Lawrence.

Catherine B. Broderick

Catherine B. Broderick, 62, of North Reading died Saturday, Aug. 21.
Ms. Broderick was born in Boston. She graduated from St. Mary's High in Brookline in 1952 and from Regis College in 1959.
The former Andover resident taught at Stoneham High School for 30 years.
The avid golfer was a member of Indian Ridge Country Club.
Members of her family include her sister and brother-in-law, Mary Kelly and Thomas Connors of Arizona; brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Margaret Broderick of North Andover and Thomas and Carolyn Broderick of Connecticut; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Kathleen Broderick and sister of the late Rita Clavero and Carol Nyhan.
A funeral service held Tuesday at Cota Funeral Home in North Reading was followed by a Mass at St. Theresa's Church, also in North Reading. Burial was in Spring Grove Cemetery.

Anthony P. Coco

Anthony P. Coco, 95, died Saturday at Nevins Nursing Home in Methuen.
Mr. Coco was born in Catania, Sicily, and came to this country when he was 10 years old.
He served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Coco owned and operated Coco's Barber shop in Shawsheen Square until he retired. It became one of the first styling salons for men in the area.
Members of his family include his sons and daughters-in-law, Frank and Nancy Coco of Cape Coral, Fla., and Charles and Patricia Coco of Methuen; daughter and son-in-law, Prudence and Raymond Maczuba of Haverhill; sister, Ida LaScola of North Andover; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a niece and nephew.
He was the widower of Mary D. (Annaloro) Coco.
A funeral Mass was said Wednesday at St. Monica Church in Methuen. Burial was in Bellevue Cemetery in Lawrence.
Arrangements were by Cataudella Funeral Home in Methuen.
