Mary A. Monroe

Mary A. (Darby) Monroe, 72, of Frederick, Md., died Thursday, Sept. 30, at her son's home.
Mrs. Monroe was born, raised and educated in Andover. She lived in Methuen for several years before she moved to Maryland about nine months ago.
Mrs. Monroe worked at the former AT&T in North Andover before she retired. She was a member of New England Home for the Deaf, Friends of the Home and the Lawrence Deaf Senior Citizens.
Members of her family include her husband, Roy A. Monroe of Danvers; sons, Wayne Monroe of Frederick, Md., and his wife, Nancy Monroe, and Dennis Monroe of Austin, Texas; brother, Thomas Darby, and sister, Theresa Sullivan, both of New Hampshire; three granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held today, Thursday, Oct. 7, at 11 a.m. in Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen.
Arrangements were by Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home in Methuen.
Nathan Rochwarg

Nathan Rochwarg, 76, of Andover died Wednesday, Sept. 22, after a brief battle with cancer.
Mr. Rochwarg was born in Brooklyn. He had lived in Andover for 16 years.
Mr. Rochwarg served with the Army Air Corps in the South Pacific during World War II.
He was an avid listener of jazz and big-band music.
Members of his family include his brother, Herman Rochwarg; sister, Zona Schreiber; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Genevieve A. McCubbin

Genevieve A. (Flynn) McCubbin, 77, of Andover Commons, died Friday, Oct. 8, at Lawrence General Hospital.
Mrs. McCubbin was born in Lowell and graduated from Lowell High.
The former North Andover resident worked for the Internal Revenue Service in Andover for many years.
She was a parishioner of St. Michael Church in North Andover.
Mrs. McCubbin was an avid reader who enjoyed traveling, especially to Ireland; spending time with her grandchildren; and her volunteer work with Andover Commons.
Members of her family include her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Susan McCubbin of North Andover; daughters and sons-in-law, Karen McCubbin and William Cummings of Bristol, Maine, and Eileen and James Kenny of Haverhill; brother, James Flynn of Tewksbury; sister, Loretta LaBelle of Chelmsford; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass was said Wednesday in St. Michael Church. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery in Haverhill.
Arrangements were by Dewhirst & Conte Funeral Home in North Andover.
Elizabeth K. Glidden

Elizabeth Kerr Glidden, wife of the late Dr. H. Spencer Glidden of Andover and Orleans, died recently.
Members of her family include her daughter, Helen G. Wesley of Plymouth, and two granddaughters.

John Taylor

John Taylor, 84, of Andover died Sunday, Oct. 10, at Academy Manor Nursing Home.
Mr. Taylor was born, raised and educated in Methuen.
He was the chief engineer at Western Massachusetts Hospital in Westfield before he retired.
Mr. Taylor attended St. Andrew Episcopal Church in Methuen.
Members of his family include his son and daughter-in-law, John S. and Diane C. Taylor of Rockwood, Maine; two grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral services were held at St. Andrew Episcopal Church. Burial was in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Methuen.
Arrangements were by Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home of Methuen.

Rose May King

Infant Rose May King died less than an hour after birth Wednesday, Oct. 13, at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose.
Members of her family include her parents, Jacqueline M. Collins and Robert N. King of Andover; brother, James R. King, also of Andover; grandparents, John and Jennie Collins of North Reading; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services were private.
Arrangements were by Croswell Funeral Home in North Reading.
Henry Pfaff

Henry Pfaff, 87, of Auburn, Calif., died Oct. 1.
Mr. Pfaff was born in New York City.
He had been a resident of Juniper Road since 1950 before he moved to California in 1998.
Mr. Pfaff was a brewmaster with Hollahan's Brewery of Lawrence for 52 years before he retired.
He enjoyed woodworking, but was proudest of being a father. He was an avid gardener.
Members of his family include his wife of 61 years, Verda Pfaff of Auburn; son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Cynthia Pfaff, also of Auburn; and one granddaughter.
Arrangements were under the direction of Lassila Funeral Chapels of Auburn.
Everel W. Harnden

Everel W. Harnden, 95, of Andover died Monday, Oct. 4, at Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford, Maine.
Mr. Harnden was born and educated in Tewksbury. He moved to Andover in 1944.
He was a steam engineer at Tewksbury Hospital before he retired in 1980. He had previously worked at Tyer Rubber Co. of Andover and Meyer Thread Co. of Lowell.
Mr. Harnden was a member of Granite State Steam Engine Club and Kaxon Antique Auto Club of Dracut.
Members of his family include his son and daughter-in-law, Philip G. and Edythe (Carnes) Harnden of Sebago, Maine; daughter, Irene Larson of Palmer; daughter-in-law, Helen (St. Amure) Harnden of Andover; 13 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Robert E. Harnden and brother of the late Herbert, Josephine and Irene Harnden.
Funeral services were held last Thursday at Farmer & Dee Funeral Home in Tewksbury.
