Margaret E. (Shortsleeves) Irvine, 85, formerly of Clinton died Friday, March 17 at Academy Manor Nursing Home.
The widow of James J. Irvine, she leaves sons and their wives Michael J. and Pamela Irvine of San Diego and James W. and Virginia Irvine of Andover; sister Charlotte Sheridan of West Boylston; six grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours. A memorial service will take place at a later date. Arrangements were made by Burke Funeral Home in Andover. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Assoc., 1 Kendall Sq., Building 200, Cambridge, MA 02139-1562.
Dr. David Aaron Klein

David Aaron Klein, 47, of Andover died Monday, March 20.
He was the beloved husband for 25 years to Susan A. (Horowitz) , and the loving father of Eve Klein and Jordan Klein. Dr. Klein was the dear son of Harry Klein and his wife Pearl of Boynton Beach, Fla., and the late Evelyn (Mellman), and son-in-law of Louis and Harriet Horowitz of Tamarac, Fla. He leaves his sister and brother-in-law Beth Klein and Thomas Abdella of Framingham. He was brother-in-law to Neal and Michele Horowitz of Aurora, IL and Steven and Cynthia Weiss of Vienna, VA.
Services were held at Temple Emanuel on Tuesday, March 21, under the direction of Levine Chapel, Brookline.
Rabbi Robert S. Goldstein from Temple Emanuel officiated the service. Burial took place Wednesday, March 22 in the Wellwood Cemetery in Pinelawn, N.Y. Memorial observance will be Thursday, March 23, through Sunday, March 26, at his late residence. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Aid for Cancer Research, P.O. Box 376, Newton, MA 02459.
James J. "Jim" Hanlon

James J. Hanlon, 75, died Thursday, March 16 at New England Rehabilitation Hospital in Woburn.
Born in Chelsea, Mass., he worked as a firefighter in the Chelsea Fire Department. Jim was a member of the Firefighters Union, a retired captain of the Chelsea Fire Department, and a veteran WWII US Navy. He moved to Andover from Chelsea four years ago.
He was the beloved husband of the late Ruth Olsen. He leaves daughter and son-in-law Kathy Iialas and Jim of Wilmington, daughter and son-in-law Judi Cittadini and Peter of Calif., son and daughter-in-law Peter Hanlon and Maureen of Salem, NH and son and daughter-in-law James and Sharon Hanlon of Sandwich. He is survived by sisters Jackie Hanlon of W. Yarmouth, Irene Turner of Marstons Mills, Nancy Halas of Wilmington and Mary Ellen Olsen of Canton and brother William Hanlon of Fla. He also had six grandchildren.
Calling hours were held Monday. A Mass was held Tuesday, March 21, at St. Theresa's Church in North Reading, and a funeral at Cota Funeral Home in North Reading. Burial took place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.

Elsie Lillian Marhareta (Carlsson) Gray of Andover died Wednesday, March 22, at her home. She was 74.
Born in Boston, Mrs. Gray leaves her husband, Morris Bradley Gray Sr. of Andover, daughters Carolyn Redmond and her husband James of Andover, Maureen Pellerin of Methuen, Brenda DiPasquale and her husband Robert of Wilmington, Nancy Houde and her husband Paul of Somersworth, N.H., sons Morris Gray Jr. and his wife Cathleen of Salisbury, Dennis Gray and his wife Karen Smith of Maynard, brothers Albert and Walter Carlsson of Lynn and Carl Carlsson of Wetumpka, Ark., sister Caroline Midgette of Rockledge, Fla., 12 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Burke Funeral Home, 390 N. Main Street in Andover. A memorial service was held yesterday at the Marsh Corner Community Church in Methuen.

Paul J. Bibeau

Paul J. Bibeau died Saturday at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen. He was 69.
Mr. Bibeau was born in Sherbrooke, Canada, but lived much of his life in Andover. He was a parishioner at St. Patrick's Church in Lawrence and a member of the Lawrence Lodge of Elks.
He leaves his son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Rose Vancopenolle of Washington, brothers and sisters-in-law, Guy of Methuen, Emile and Fran of New Hampshire, Leo and Margie of Florida, and Rudolph and Anne of Methuen, two grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours were held at the Hart-Wallace Funeral Home, 107 S. Broadway, Lawrence. A funeral Mass was held at St. Patrick's Church in Lawrence.
Rose Marie Robinson

Rose Marie Robinson of Andover died Sunday at Lawrence General Hospital at the age of 88.
Born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Mrs. Robinson lived in the Merrimack Valley for more than 80 years. She worked at the former Mears Heel Co. for 10 years.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Lawrence and St. Augustine's Church in Andover.
She is the widow of Merle Robinson. She leaves her sons, Merle A. Jr., and his wife Diane of Andover, Frank of Lawrence, and sister Rita Buckley of Lawrence, nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 5 Mountain Road, Burlington, MA 01803.

Richard F. Murphy Jr., 92, died Monday at the Wingate in Andover.
He was born in Manchester, N.H.
He leaves his wife Helen (Budd) Murphy, daughters Lois Murphy of St. Louis, Mo., Constance and husband George Collette of Wilbraham, and Patricia and her husband Herbert Hall of Naples, Fla, sons and daughters-in-law Richard F. III and Ellen of Andover, and Robert H. and Carol of Merrimack, N.H., sister Marjorie Dickey of Cape Cod, 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were made by Burke Funeral Home, 390 Main Street, Andover. Cremation took place at Linwood Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Debra Stevens, 37, died Tuesday at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
She was born in New Jersey. She lived in Lynn before moving to Andover 12 years ago. She was a former member of St. Pius Church in Lynn.
She leaves mother Phyllis Sibelle of Lynn, son Neil of Andover, four sisters, and five brothers.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Goodrich Funeral Home, 128 Washington St., Lynn, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. in St. Pius Church in Lynn. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Lynn, at a later date.
Mary A. Scanlon

Mary A. (Coyle) Scanlon of Andover, died at her home March 23 after a short illness. Mary was 92.
Mary was born in Lawrence and graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1925. She continued her schooling at McIntosh Business School and began her business career working at the Herald-Traveler in Boston.
She married Timothy J. Scanlon of Lawrence in Oct. of 1935 and moved to Andover where they raised their family. During those years she devoted herself to her children and was very involved in the St. Augustine's School Guild where she was a past President. After her children were grown, she was associated with the T.J. Scanlon Co. in Lawrence, the family business.
Mary could be described as a compassionate, loving and friendly person whose faith in God was foremost in her life. She had a wonderful sense of humor. She loved playing and especially winning at the game of "45's". Her most prized possession was her family. Mary, Mum, Nana will be missed.
Mary is predeceased by her husband Timothy J. Scanlon of 51 years and her daughter, Kathryn Mary.
She leaves three sons, Robert T. and wife Margaret of North Andover, William J. and wife Sotela of Newbury and Timothy J. of Sarasota, FL; one daughter Maureen and husband Ken Jones of Andover. She also leaves 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, also several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Charles Dewhirst Edgerley & Bessom Funeral Home, 33 Pearson St., Andover on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Augustine's Church, 43 Essex St., Andover on Monday at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Lawrence.

Vivian A. Buehner

Vivian A. (Walls) Buehner, 97, of Main Street, Andover, died March 23, at the Lahey Clinic from complications following surgery.
Vivian Walls was born in Millinocket, Maine, in 1902 and attended school in Canada and at Boston University. After working for a number of years in Boston she married and retired to raise her daughter. A resident of Andover since 1938, Mrs. Buehner worked as the Church Secretary of Christ Church, as an executive secretary at the Tyer Rubber Co. and later at the Phillips Academy Admissions Office.
In 1975, she married William Buehner. They have lived in and around Andover since then. Vivian was active in Christ Church in Andover and for many years donated her time and considerable talents as Secretary of the Church and to the Thrift Shop. She was a past member of the Shawsheen Village Woman's Club and treasurer of the Church Alter Guild. She leaves a large legacy of needlepoint and knitting with her family and friends. She was beloved by her friends for her zest for life and her infectious laugh.
She is survived by her daughter Joan E. Reals of Lincoln, her husband William Buehner of Andover, five grandchildren: Peter of Sherburn, Christopher of Germantown, MD., Elizabeth of Riverdale, NY., Jonathan of Arlington, Michael of Somerville and four great-grandchildren, one of whom was name in her honor.
Friends are invited to funeral services on Monday at 10 a.m. at Christ Church, Andover.
Burial will follow in the Christ Church Cemetery in Andover. Friends may call on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Moses Chapel of Christ Church.
