DERRY, N.H. -- Joseph A. Legendre, 96, of 80 Tsienneto Road, died Wednesday at Birchwood Nursing Home.
Mr. Legendre worked at Marcottes Market in Derry for 26 years. He also worked at the Derry Post Office for 30 years until retiring in 1973.
Born in Lawrence, Mass., he lived in Derry since 1911. He was a member of the American Postal Union.
Mr. Legendre attended St. Thomas Aquinas Church.
The widower of Gabrielle B. Legendre, he leaves daughters Rita A. Demers of Derry and Jacqueline Gile of Hudson; son Ronald Gagnon of Derry; sister Cecile Bellavance of Manchester; 16 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours are today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Peabody Funeral Home, 15 Birch St., Derry.
A Mass of Christian burial will be tomorrow at noon at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Crystal Avenue, Derry. Burial will be Tuesday in Holy Cross Cemetery, Londonderry.

Alcide J. LeGendre

Alcide J. LeGendre, 89, of Andover died Thursday, Sept. 9, at Academy Manor Nursing Home.
Mr. LeGendre was born and educated in Lawrence.
He was a salesman at Elander and Swanton and at McCartney's in Andover before he retired.
Mr. LeGendre was a communicant at St. Augustine Church.
Members of his family include his daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Michael Campagna of Andover and Joan M. and Alvin MacQuarrie of Chelmsford; brother, Joseph LeGendre of Oregon; sister, Gertrude Jacinto of Florida; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the widower of Beatrice (Blouin) LeGendre.
A funeral Mass was said Saturday at St. Augustine Church. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Arrangements were by Arthur J. Scott Funeral Home in Lawrence.
George Petralia

METHUEN -- George Petralia, 53, died yesterday at Lawrence General Hospital.
Mr. Petralia owned and operated Impressions in Flowers in Methuen for eight years. Before that, he owned and operated George Petralia Insurance Co. of Lawrence.
He was born and educated in Lawrence. He also received a bachelor's degree in human resources management at the University of Massachusetts-Boston.
An avid hunter, he was a member of the National Rifle Association for several years.
He leaves wife Gail (Picard) Petralia of Lawrence; son Mathew George of Lawrence; daughter Danielle Marie Petralia of Methuen; sister Grace Byron of Lawrence; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours are tomorrow from 9 a.m. to noon at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen.
A funeral service will be tomorrow at noon at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.

PLAISTOW, N.H. -- A funeral Mass will be June 2 at 10 a.m. at Holy Angels Parish, 8 Atkinson Depot Road, Plaistow, for Elsie H. (Fellows) Silloway, 83, formerly of Haverhill, Mass., who died Monday at Hale Hospital in Haverhill.
Mrs. Silloway owned the Plaistow Laundromat and Cleaners for several years and later was a bookkeeper for Plaistow Lumber Co.
Born in Haverhill, she lived in Haverhill until she moved to Plaistow 46 years ago. She was a member of the Emblem Club and the Merri-Vals Square Dance Club, both in Haverhill.
The widow of Charles H. Silloway, she leaves daughter Mary Jane, son Charles H., and longtime companion Hugh Sargent, all of Plaistow; and several nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in Holy Angels Cemetery.
Arrangements are by National Cremation Service.

METHUEN -- Conrad "Curry" Tela, 84, died Wednesday at home.
Mr. Tela worked for Maugeri Fruit in Lawrence for several years. He then was a security guard at Mary Immaculate Nursing Home.
He was born and educated in Lawrence. He volunteered at the Mary Immaculate Nursing Home in Lawrence for many years.
During World War II, Mr. Tela was a welder for the Navy Shipyard.
The widow of Mary (Maugeri) Tela, who died last year, he leaves son and daughter-in-law John P. and Verna of Methuen; daughter and son-in-law Maria-Ann Tela and Michael J. Quinn of Methuen; and six grandchildren.
There were no calling hours.
Funeral Mass was this morning at St. Monica Church in Methuen. Burial was in Bellevue Cemetery in Lawrence.
Arrangements are by Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen.

MERRIMAC -- Leo G. Holt, 93, of Bear Hill Road, died Wednesday afternoon at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport.
An electrical engineer, he was a supervisor at Western Electric.
Born in Lake City, Minn., he graduated from the University of Minnesota.
An avid hunter and fisherman, he was an original member of the Tournament Wharf Tuna Club of Newburyport and was a former member of the Amesbury Golf Club.
The widower of Carletta C. (Conrow) Holt, he leaves son and daughter-in-law Wayne C. and Marilyn of Newbury; daughter and son-in-law Dianne C. and William Murphy of Kingston, N.H.; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one nephew.
Calling hours are tomorrow from 7 to 9 p.m. at Paul C. Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 36 W. Main St., Merrimac.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery.

Ms. Prindiville was a foreman in layout operations at Lucent Technologies in North Andover for 40 years.
She was born and educated in Manchester, N.H. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
She leaves brother Paul of Taylor, Mich.; sister Pauline Smith of Plymouth; and several nieces and nephews.

BRADENTON, Fla. -- Evelyn Rose Caron, 76, died Sunday.
Born in Lawrence, Mass., she moved to Florida from North Andover, Mass., in 1987 during the winters, and moved there permanently in 1996.
Mrs. Caron retired as a legal secretary from Merrimack College in North Andover.
She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul the Apostles Catholic Church.
She leaves husband of 55 years Gilbert Caron; daughter Susan Tracey of Arlington, Va.; sons Thomas of Haverhill, Mass.; brother Thomas Kinsella of Lawrence; and two grandchildren.
A memorial Mass will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Lawrence.
