Marion Ferrante, 86, died Wednesday, April 12, at Holy Family Hospital.
Mrs. Ferrante owned Coiffeurs by M.F. on Main Street in Andover for more than 30 years.
She was born and educated in Lawrence. She was a member of St. Monica Church.
The widow of Ernest Ferrante, she leaves brother John DiMaggio of Lawrence; sisters Marie Pellegrino of North Andover, Lucy Raimondo of Methuen, and Rose Trela of North Andover; one granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Virginia DiTore.
Arrangements were by the Farrah Funeral Home, 170 Lawrence St., Lawrence.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Monica Church in Methuen. Burial was in St. Mary-Immaculate Cemetery, Lawrence.

Charles F. Hatch

Charles F. Hatch, 82, died Saturday, April 15, at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen.
Born in Salem, Mr. Hatch served in the Army for 23 years in both active and reserve duty. During World War II he was a topographer with the 277 2nd Engineer Base Reproduction Company, which prepared plans for the Normandy invasion and other European battles. He was also stationed in Panama, Thailand, Vietnam and Guam, and taught at the Army Language School in San Francisco.
Mr. Hatch was a member of Mary, Queen of Peace Church, and was active as a handyman at St. Robert Bellarmine Church in Andover. He was also a member of several bowling leagues and military organizations.
The widower of Dorothy B. (Bleakley) Hatch, he leaves sons Michael J. Hatch of Derry and James S. Hatch of Manchester; and sister Loretta Marino of Merced, Calif.
A funeral Mass was celebrated yesterday, Wednesday, in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, Andover.
Arrangements were by Dewhirst & Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third St., North Andover.
Claire B. Caston

Claire B. (Campbell) Caston, 75, died Friday, April 14, at Colonial Heights Nursing Home.
Mrs. Caston was born in Andover, and was a member of St. Patrick Church in Lawrence.
The widow of Edward Caston, she leaves daughter Nancy and her husband John Phillips of Lawrence; sister Ruth McCormick of Lawrence; three grandsons; one aunt; and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were by Burke Funeral Home, 390 N. Main St. Cremation took place in Linwood Crematory.
Margaret Lane

Margaret Lane, 95, of Boxford, died Saturday, April 15 at Blueberry Hill Healthcare in Beverly.
Ms. Lane was a librarian at schools and libraries in Massachusetts and New York for several years. In 1945 she became children's librarian in the library and schools of Andover. After 18 years working in Andover, she worked at American Academy for Girls in Turkey for four years. She then was librarian for eight years at two Haverhill schools.
Born in Cambridge, she graduated from Wellesley College in 1926. She received two degrees at Columbia University School of Library Science.
Ms. Lane was a trustee of Boxford Public Library since 1933. After retiring, she became director of Boxford Historic Document Center.
She taught Sunday School at First Church Congregational. She was also a longtime member of the Ladies Benevolent Society, was on the organ committee and took part in Bible studies groups at the church.
Ms. Lane was active in the Boxford Grange. She also established a Christmas tree lot. She was interested in conservation and gave the Essex County Greenbelt several separate Boxford parcels, on Fish Brook, on Lawrence Road, Middleton Road and Townsend Farm Road.
She leaves nephew Peter P. Lord of McLean, Va.; nieces Joan L. Johnston of Shepherdstown, W. Va., Mary L. Van Dusen of Marblehead, Anne Lord Malicoat of Provincetown, and Sarah L. Corson of Southwest Harbor, Maine; 16 grandnieces and grandnephews; and 14 great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.
A memorial service will be held Monday, April 24, at 11 a.m. at First Church Congregational in Boxford.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Mary Maniatakos

Mary (Tsakle) Maniatakos, 78, died Tuesday, April 11, at Prescott House Nursing Home in North Andover.
Mrs. Maniatakos was a waitress at Howard Johnson's Restaurant on Pelham Street in Methuen and also worked at Priscilla's Candy in Lawrence. Most recently, she worked at the coffee shop at Holy Family Hospital.
She was born and educated in Methuen. She attended Sts. Constantine and Helen Church in Andover and was a member of the church choir.
Mrs. Maniatakos was a past member of Pallas Chapter Daughters of Penelope.
The widow of Steve J. Maniatakos, she leaves daughters Andrea and husband George Mavroides of Groveland, and Stephanie Maniatakos and fiance Paul Poirier of Methuen; brother Peter Tsakle of Methuen; sister Sylvia Diamond of Haverhill; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were by the Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Friday, April 14 at Sts. Constantine and Helen Church in Andover. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery.

Imelda Moerman

Imelda (Potvin) Moerman, 102, formerly of Andover, died Tuesday, April 11, at Sutton Hill Nursing Home in North Andover.
She was born in St. Germain, Canada.
Mrs. Moerman worked at the Shawsheen Mills.
The widow of Ernest Moerman, she leaves daughter Mary Gaudet of Andover; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Arrangements were by the Hart-Wallace Funeral Home, 107 S. Broadway, Lawrence.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 14, at the funeral home. Cremation took place at Bayview Crematory.

William A. Kolbe

William A. Kolbe Sr., 83, of Sarasota, Fla., and formerly of Andover, died Monday, April 10.
Mr. Kolbe was a lieutenant for the Sixth Armored Division, which served in Europe during World War II. He earned the Bronze Star, for meritorious service in Belgium; the Purple Heart; and the Distinguished Unit Citation, awarded by the French for his service with the 69th Tank Battalion. Mr. Kolbe took part in the mission to liberate the Buchenwald concentration camp May 19, 1945.
Mr. Kolbe was a senior field manager for the American Oil Co.
After his retirement from the Army and Amoco, Mr. Kolbe pursued his passion for boating and ocean fishing.
He was a frequent contributor to Today's Senior, a monthly supplement to the Sarasota Herald Tribune, where he shared personal glimpses into the humorous and tragic aspects of World War II.
Members of his family include his wife of 49 years, Heidi Kolbe of Sarasota, Fla.; two sons, Bill Kolbe of Andover and Ken Kolbe of Shrewsbury; a daughter, Gail Kolbe of Cape Elizabeth, Maine; his sister, Margaret Hoermer of Bravard, N.C.; and three grandchildren.
William H. Pappas

William H. Pappas, 66, died Saturday, April 15, at Beth Israel-Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, after complications from heart surgery.
Born and educated in Lawrence, Mr. Pappas received a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
He served in the Army with the 3rd Armored Division in Germany from 1955 to 1957.
Members of his family include his brothers, John and George Pappas, both of Andover; sisters Angela Schug of Beverly and Bessie Kenney of Methuen; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service was held yesterday, Wednesday, in Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, followed by burial in Bellevue Cemetery, Lawrence.
Arrangements were by the Farrah Funeral Home, 170 Lawrence St., Lawrence.
