Jennifer C. Pinkham, 18, died Friday, April 21, at Boston Medical Center from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Ms. Pinkham, daughter of Janice (Kennedy) Pinkham of Lawrence and Roger C. Pinkham of Newburyport, was born in Andover. She was educated at Methuen High, where she was a member of the ROTC.
She was employed as a supervisor at Kentucky Fried Chicken in South Lawrence.
Besides her parents, members of her family include brother Christopher Pinkham of Lawrence; sisters Elizabeth and Catherine Pinkham, both of Lawrence; grandfather Roger A. Pinkham of Andover; grandmother Jean Morgan of Taunton; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday, April 26, in St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex St., followed by cremation in Linwood Crematory. Arrangements were by Burke Funeral Home, 390 N. Main St., Andover.
Charles Padova

Charles Padova, 85, of Andover, died Wednesday, April 19, at Holy Family Hospital.
Mr. Padova was a Formica cutter at Melinite Corp. for 20 years. Before that, he worked at J.P. Stevens Co., the Ayer Mill, Wood Mill and local mills as a bobbin setter.
He was born in Lawrence and educated in Italy, returning to the United States when he was 17. He graduated from the Oliver High night program.
During World War II, Mr. Padova served in the Army. He served in the Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. He received the Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal, European African Medal and the Campaign Ribbon.
He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Post 15 and the Sons of Italy.
Members of his family include wife Angelina (Recupero) Padova; son Vincent "Vinnie" Padova; daughter, Josephine Costanzo of Lawrence; brother Salvatore of Pachino, Sicily, Italy; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass was celebrated Tuesday, April 25 at Holy Rosary Church, Lawrence. Burial was in Bellevue Cemetery, Lawrence.
Arrangements were by Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen.
Laurence D. Lynch

Laurence D. Lynch, 63, of Andover, died Sunday, April 30 at home.
Mr. Lynch was born in Lawrence and was a graduate of Punchard High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He enjoyed the outdoors and hiking in the White Mountains. He also had a great love for baseball and football and participated in sports while in high school.
He was an Andover police officer before retiring in 1982. He was also an officer for the Pasco County Sheriff's Office in Florida and worked security for the Anclote Manor in Tarpon Springs, Fla.
He had been employed by Phillips Academy since 1989.
Family members include his wife, Bette (Estell) Lynch; sons Kevin P. and his wife Krissy of Sanborn, Fla. and Brendan L. and his fiance Lisa of Margate, Fla.; a daughter Bridget M. Lynch of Atlanta, Ga.; a granddaughter; a brother, J. Kevin Lynch of Newburyport; sisters, Alice Mary Diegisser of Bradford and Patricia Lynch of Lawrence; a niece and three nephews. He was also the widower of Elizabeth Tammany Lynch and father of the late Nora Lynch.
A memorial service will be held today, Thursday, May 4 at 3 p.m. in Cochran Chapel, Phillips Academy. Cremation will take place at Linwood Crematory.

Edward A. Smeltzer

Edward A. Smeltzer, 53, of Andover, died Friday, April 28 at Holy Family Hospital.
Mr. Smeltzer was born in Lawrence.
He leaves companion Norma Morava, with whom he lived and family members include mother Theresa (Doucette) Smeltzer of West Palmetto, Fla.; son Michael of Daytona Beach, Fla.; daughter Tina of Port Orange, Fla.; two granddaughters; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A funeral service was held Monday, May 1 at Burke Funeral Home, 390 N. Main St., Andover. Burial was in Spring Grove Cemetery.

Lysander 'Sandy' Richmond

Lysander "Sandy" Richmond, 76, of Andover, formerly of Stoneham, died Thursday, April 27, from complications following surgery.
Mr. Richmond was president and owner of Hill Packaging of Salem, N.H.
He was born in Sanford, Maine and grew up in Calais, Maine. He attended Gould Academy and graduated in 1942. He was stationed in England during World War II. After returning, he graduated from Boston University in 1949 and went to work as a salesman for the R.E. Hill Co., a green coffee brokerage owned by his father.
As Boston lost its position as a primary port of entry for coffee, he and his brother, the late Clarke Richmond, helped to redirect the company toward the packaging industry. Together, the brothers guided Hill Packaging into one of New England's larger distributors, representing a number of industry leading companies in packaging.
Mr. Richmond served for many years on the advisory board for Automated Packaging Systems, including several terms as its president. He also served on the board of directors and was a part-owner of Imaging Technologies Inc., a division of ITW.
Affectionately known as "Sandy Sr." or "Chief," he brought a special spark to everything he did in his business and personal life, his family said. His charm, sense of humor and charisma made everyone feel at ease.
He enjoyed tennis and golf and was a member of Bass Rocks Country Club in Gloucester. Although he played less golf than other Hill Packaging employees, he was proud to be the first to have a hole-in-one in 1998.
He served as president and treasurer of Court II Charities. Mr. Richmond enjoyed singing and was a member of the choir at the First Unitarian Church of Stoneham, where he was also the parish chairman for several terms.
Mr. Richmond and his wife, Martha, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at the Parker House in Boston, the site of his proposal to her.
Other family members include sons Richard Richmond of North Andover and Lysander Richmond of Sanford, Maine; daughters Jane Guertin, Annie Long and Rebecca Richmond, all of Andover; and 10 grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Monday, May 1 at the North Parish Unitarian Universalist Church, 190 Academy Road, North Andover.
Memorial donations may be made to the Holy Family Hospital Foundation, 70 East St., Methuen, MA 01844; or to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.

Enid E. Mason

Enid E. (Zacharias) Mason, 86, of Andover, died Friday, April 28 at Academy Manor Nursing Home.
Mrs. Mason was born in Patterson, Calif., and was a lieutenant in the Naval Waves during World War II.
She was the widow of Alexander Nicholas Mason. Family members include sons Nick Mason of Middletown, Conn., and Ralph Mason and his wife, Sharon, of Andover; daughters, Sally Mason of Durham, N.C., and Ginny Mason of Derry, N.H.; six grandchildren; a niece and a nephew.
Cremation took place at Linwood Crematory. There were no calling hours.

Harrison E. Brown

Harrison E. Brown, 92, of Andover, died Monday, May 1 at Charlton Masonic Home in Charlton.
He was born in New York and graduated from Crafton (Pa.) High School in 1924. While in high school, he equalled the then-world record for the 100-yard dash.
After graduating from high school, he returned to the Andover area until he joined the Illinois Central Railroad in 1931. He became the executive secretary to the president of the railroad. He then worked for the Boston & Maine Railroad until retiring in 1962.
During World War II, he served in the Army Transportation Corps. He served on the staff of General Gross, the chief of transportation, as the operations officer for the ports on the eastern seaboard from New York to the Canadian border. Among his responsibilities was the coordination of lend-lease activities with the Russians.
He was separated from active duty with the rank of major. He entered the Army reserves and served as commanding officer of the 97th Transportation Battalion in Lawrence until retiring in 1967 as a lieutenant colonel.
An active member in Masonic service, Mr. Brown was a 57-year member and past master of St. Matthew Lodge AF&AM of Andover. A member since 1921, he was past master of DeMolay and counselor of the Essex chapter and the oldest DeMolay member in Massachusetts. He received the Legion of Honor and Cross of Honor in DeMolay.
Mr. Brown was a Scottish Rite 32nd Degree Mason, Valley of Boston, a Shriner, Aleppo Temple in Wilmington, a member of Eastern Star, was past Patrol of Andover Chapter 187, Order of Eastern Star and past Grand Patron of State Eastern Star, a member of the Boston Traffic Club and a charter member of the Andover Booster Club.
He attended Christ Church in Andover.
He was the widower of Gladys (Phyfe) Brown. Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, James and Nancy Brown of Haverhill; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two nieces.
Funeral services were scheduled for today, Thursday, May 4 at 10 a.m. at Christ Church, Central Street. Burial was to follow in Spring Grove Cemetery, Andover.
Arrangements are by Dewhirst & Conte Funeral Home, 28 Florence St., Andover.
