Muriel (Ormsby) Smith, 90, of 15 Stevens St., a longtime resident of 25 Oak St. in the Ballardvale section of town, died Saturday, May 6 at Masconomet Healthcare Center in Topsfield.
She was born in Melrose and lived in Andover for 89 years before moving to Topsfield six weeks ago.
She was the widow of Stanley Smith.
Family members include her daughters, Ruth Mott of Topsfield, and Marjorie and husband Richard Sullivan of Florida; a sister, Marion Dulong of Methuen; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were private.
Arrangements are by Caron Funeral Home, 30 Main St., North Andover.
Katrina Joanne Tubinis

Katrina Joanne Tubinis, infant daughter of Mark A. and Martha K. (Rattan) Tubinis of Andover, died Friday, April 28 at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston.
In addition to her parents, family members include two brothers, Luke W. Tubinis and Andrew P. Tubinis, both of Andover; her maternal grandparents, Dr. Walter C. Rattan and Joanne (Robinson) Rattan of Kenosha, Wis.; her paternal grandmother, Dorothy A. (Smith) Tubinis of Penfield, N.Y.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Katrina was also the granddaughter of the late Matthew P. Tubinis.
Funeral services were private. Burial was at West Parish Cemetery.

Jean L. Barker

Jean L. Barker, 47, a resident of Needham for over 20 years, died Monday, May 8, at her home, after a battle with cancer.
Born in Providence, R.I., Ms. Barker had been a resident of Andover and had graduated from Andover High School. She also graduated from Suffolk University and received her MBA from Babson College. For many years, Ms. Barker was the former corporate director of human resources for Hygienetics in Boston and Kollmorgen in Waltham. In 1996, she founded and operated her own consulting firm, Organizational Harmony in Needham. She was an avid gardener and a member of the Needham Garden Club.
Family members include her husband, Robert D. Rands; two stepchildren, Robert A. Rands of Decatur, Ga., and Patrick B. and his wife Wendy Rands of Chestnut Hill; her mother, Pauline (Mitton) Barker of Worcester; a brother, Richard Barker of San Diego, Calif.; a sister, Bonnie Markland of Houston, Texas; and six nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held Saturday, May 13, at the First Parish Unitarian-Universalist Church, 23 Dedham Ave., Needham.
Memorial contributions may be made to a cancer-related charity of one's choice, or to the VNA Care Choices Inc., 1100 High St., Dedham, MA 02026.

Lyman G. Bullard

Lyman G. Bullard, 78, a resident of North Andover and formerly of Andover, died Wednesday, May 10, following a long battle with cancer.
Mr. Bullard was raised in Brookline and attended the Park School. He was a 1940 graduate of the Berkshire School and a 1944 graduate of Harvard College. Mr. Bullard served as a Lieutenant J.G. in the Navy on the USS New Jersey in the Pacific during World War II.
Mr. Bullard began his professional career in the textile business serving as an executive with the Talbot Wool Company and Marriner Combing. He then served as president of the O'Day Boat Co., enabling him to continue his lifelong love of sailing. For many years thereafter, he was a management and executive search consultant enjoying client relationships that continued for several years, his family said.
Mr. Bullard believed strongly in giving back to thc people, places and institutions that helped shape him. He was a longtime trustee and later Trustee Emeritus of Berkshire School, serving as an adviser to numerous headmasters. He was active in class and reunion activities at Harvard College and served as Treasurer of the Harvard Club of Andover. Mr. Bullard was the president and later chairman of the Marsh Committee of Nonquitt, a summer community where he spent his childhood. He was a former president of the North Andover Country Club and a member of the Cruising Club of America. He was a founder of Andover Youth Hockey and a regional director of the thc APTA.
Family members include his wife, Sarah (Bell) Bullard; four children, Sarah Bullard Sleck of Washington, D.C., Pamela Bullard of Quincy, Lyman Bullard, Jr. of Needham and William R. Bullard II of Parkton, Md.; and eight grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held tomorrow, Friday, May 19 at 2 p.m. at Christ Church. Private burial will be in Mt. Auburn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to Berkshire School, Sheffield, MA 02157.

Edward C. Desrocher

Edward C. Desrocher, 84, of Florence Street, died Friday, May 12 at Academy Manor in Andover.
He was born and educated in Lawrence and worked for many years at Shawsheen Motors, which later became Woodworth Motors of Andover. He enjoyed fishing and vacationing in Florida.
Family members include his wife of 62 years, Lillian (Brearley) Desrocher; a daughter, Carole Desrocher; a sister-in-law, Dorothy B. Adams, all of Andover; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Arthur and Albert Desrocher.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 15.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Free Christian Church Building Fund, Elm Street, Andover; or the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.

Frances Dixon

Frances (Whiteley) Dixon, 88, of Londonderry, N.H., but a resident of Andover for most of her life, died Sunday, May 14 at the Birchwood Nursing Home in Derry, N.H.
She was the widow of Lester F. Dixon Sr., and they would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in September.
She was born in Beverly and attended Dracut Grammar School.
She was a graduate of Lowell High School and also attended Simmons College.
Mrs. Dixon was a member of the West Parish Congregational Church for many years and more recently the First Congregational Church in Pelham, N.H.
Before retiring, she was an error corrector with the Internal Revenue Service at the Andover center for 12 years. Befeore that, she and her husband operated Boutwell Farm in Andover. She was a member of the Andover Grange.
In addition to her husband, family members include two sons, Lester F. Dixon Jr. and his wife, Nancy, of Pelham, and Gerald A. Dixon and his wife, Kim, of Ohio; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Douglas Dixon and the sister of the late Wilford Whiteley.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 17 at First Congregational Church in Pelham. Burial was in West Parish Cemetery.

Robert A. Fredrickson

Robert A. Fredrickson, 67, of Arundel Street, died Sunday, May 21 at Woodbriar Center in Wilmington.
Born and educated in Andover, he studied at the Museum of Fine Arts School in Boston and served as art director for RCA and General Electric in Burlington for 28 years, retiring in 1990.
Mr. Fredrickson's drawings and technical sketches were used in medical textbooks and by the U.S. Space Program and he was a commissioned by the Veterans of Foreign Wars to paint portraits. His paintings were done in oils and pencil. Among the many that he completed was a portrait of Bob Hope, which Mr. Fredrickson presented to Mr. Hope and is currently in the Hope Museum in Florida. This painting was commissioned by the Veterans of Foreign Wars in recognition of the service that Mr. Hope gave to the servicemen.
Mr. Fredrickson enjoyed giving his oil paintings to his family and friends.
Mr. Fredrickson served in the Army in Germany during the Korean War.
Members of his family include his wife of 41 years, Maureen (Darby) Fredrickson; two sons, Eric of North Andover and Karl and his wife Christine of East Kingston, N.H.; brother, John B. Fredrickson of Rhode Island; sister, Ruth Ann Lucy of Groveland; a sister-in-law and good friend Claire Morgan of North Andover; a granddaughter, Karin; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held yesterday, Wednesday, May 24 at Dewhirst & Conte Funeral Home, 28 Florence St. A private burial will be held at the family's convenience.
Francis P. Weydt

Francis P. Weydt, 45, an Andover resident for 12 years, died Friday, May 19 in Yarmouth.
Mr. Weydt owned and operated Commonwealth Retirement Plan Services in Andover.
He was born in Quincy and graduated from Worcester State College. He lived in Hull most of his life.
Members of his family include two sisters, Christina Weydt of Weymouth and Mary Weydt of Los Angeles, Calif.; two brothers, Michael Weydt of Scituate and David Weydt of Methuen; and several nieces and nephews.
Private family services were held yesterday, Wednesday, May 24.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
