Gordon P. Hall

Gordon P. Hall, 83, a former Andover resident, died June 9 at his home in Gilford, N.H. while working in his garden.
Mr. Hall was born and raised in Andover and had formerly lived on Tewksbury Street. He graduated from the Essex Agriculture School and maintained a poultry farm in the Ballardvale section of town.
He was also a school bus driver for the Andover school system. He enjoyed gardening and was an avid sports fan, and especially enjoyed baseball and football.
Members of his family include his wife of 59 years, Elizabeth (Stein) Hall; two daughters, Nancy Lydigsen of Haverhill and Elizabeth, wife of Barry Wham, of New Jersey; a brother, Ernest Hall of Andover; a sister, Evelyn Darby of Andover; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were by Dewhirst and Conte Funeral Home, 28 Florence St.
Joseph A. Licciardello

Joseph A. Licciardello, 80, a longtime Andover resident and winter resident of Palm Beach, Fla., died Wednesday, June 7 at Partridge House in Hampton Falls, N.H.
He was born in Lawrence and graduated from Lawrence High School.
Mr. Licciardello worked in the automotive industry for his entire life. He worked for Nassar Ford of Lawrence and retired from the Shawsheen Motor Mart of Andover as a service writer.
During World War II, Mr. Licciardello served in the Army and was wounded in action. He was honorably discharged.
He was the widower of Antoinette (Prima) Licciardello. Members of his family include his daughter, Sandra Williams of Hampton, N.H.; two grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was also the father of the late James Licciardello.

Eleanor L. Petelle-Poock

Eleanor L. Petelle-Poock, 77, an Andover resident for the past 18 years, died Friday, June 9 at Lawrence General Hospital.
Mrs. Petelle-Poock was born and educated in Lawrence. She graduated from Lawrence High School in 1941. She worked for Sutherland's Department Store in Lawrence and the Lawrence Housing Authority. She retired as a principal clerk from the Lawrence Experiment Station.
She loved dancing and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was the widow of Joseph H. Petelle. Members of her family include her husband of 18 years, William C. Poock; a son, Thomas J. Petelle and his wife Anne of Wilmington; a daughter, Joyce A. and her husband David J. Middlemiss of Methuen; stepdaughter, Patricia (Fowler) and her husband, Thomas Knightly of Methuen; stepson, Mark J. Poock of Methuen; a sister, Arlene Quinlan of North Hampton, N.H.; seven grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; one grandniece; and one grandnephew.

Roger H. Pelletier

Roger H. Pelletier, 79, died June 13, in Venice, Fla., after a long illness.
Born in Lowell, raised and educated in Methuen, he lived in Andover and North Andover for 25 years. He moved to Venice, Fla., four years ago.
A decorated soldier, Mr. Pelletier received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He served with the U.S. Army 26th Yankee Division, 156th Field Artillery Company during World War II in Europe. After discharge he remained in the Army Reserve for 22 years, retiring in 1967 as a major. He commanded units in Lawrence and Methuen.
An executive with J. P. Stevens Textile Co. for 36 years, he held positions in North Andover, Greenville, S.C., and the corporate headquarters in Manhattan. Internationally respected in his field, he retired in 1982 and continued as consultant to Stevens and the Merrimack Valley Textile Museum, North Andover.
He served on the North Andover Advisory Board as chairman for several years, was a member of the Bon Secours Men's Guild and an original member of Indian Ridge Country Club.
Members of his family include his wife, Dorothy M., daughter Dorothy K. Mahoney of Sarasota, Fla., grandson John R. Mahoney of Newburyport; and two sisters.
Services are private and donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
Raymond G. Reed Sr.

Raymond G. Reed, Sr., 89, formerly of Andover and Meredith, N.H., died Saturday, June 17 in Fort Myers, Fla.
He was the owner of Reed's Turkey Farm, formerly located at 128 Dascomb Road.
Mr. Reed graduated from Essex Agricultural School in the days when Andover students walked from Argilla Road to "Wilson's Corner," near Merrimack College and were then transported to school.
Mr. Reed received acknowledgement for his work in developing the broad-breasted white Holland turkey, which he raised and marketed in Andover with his wife, Mary, and brother, Fred.
Baby poults were shipped internationally as well as within the U.S.A.
A lifelong friendship developed between the Reeds and Claire and Ray Rischer. Mr. Reed gave several young poults to the Rischers who went on to develop a farm in Methuen. In addition, many young men from Andover had their first job with Ray Reed at his turkey farm.
The Reeds retired to New Hampshire and Florida, enjoying their family, friends, skiing, and many other small ventures.
He was the widower of Mary T. Rennie and Elizabeth Rivers. Family members include his son and his wife, Raymond G. and Nancy (White) Reed of Johns Island, S.C.; daughter-in-law, Moira Reed Conrad of Andover; sister-in-law Viola C. Reed of Andover; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late George Conrad and the brother of the late Albert Reed and Fredrick Reed of Andover.
Burial will be held at Spring Grove Cemetery at a later date.

Thomas R. Low

Thomas R. Low, 59, of Salem, N.H. and formerly of Andover, died Sunday, June 25 at Holy Family Hospital.
Mr. Low was a member of the New England Bible Church of Andover and St. Matthews Lodge, Andover. He was a graduate of Andover High School class of 1960, where he co-captained the football team. He was involved in Boy Scouts and coached both Little League and Pop Warner Football.
Members of his family include his wife, Anne M. (Fee) Low of Derry, N.H.; a son, Kevin Low and his wife Stefany of Sandown, N.H.; a daughter, Kelly Platon of Derry; eight grandchildren; a brother, Edward Low of Salem; sisters, Ruth Schrieter of Deerfield, N.H., and Annabel Bartose of Methuen; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Kerry-Ann Perez.

James A. Devlin

James A. Devlin, 75, of Andover, died Tuesday, June 20 at home.
He was born and educated in Lawrence and graduated from Central Catholic High School. Mr. Devlin worked at New England Telephone for 30 years until retiring.
During World War II, he served in the Army in Northern France and Central Europe and received the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
He attended St. Robert Bellarmine Church and was a choir member for more than 25 years.
Members of his family include his wife of 50 years, Loretta T. (Toussaint) Devlin; sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy M. and Concepcion Devlin of Germany, and Thomas P. and Joan Devlin of Methuen; daughters and sons-in-law, Susan E. and Jack Monteiro of Andover, and Kellie A. and Brian Feeney of Bradford; sisters, Cecelia Brouder of Lawrence and Rita McNamara of Bradford; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Ruth L. MacBride

Ruth L. (Goetze) MacBride, 84, a longtime Andover resident, died Thursday, June 22 at Lawrence General Hospital.
Mrs. MacBride was born and raised in Carlstead, N.J. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church of Lawrence. She was also a member of Shawsheen Women's Club of Andover, the AARP, and the Camera Club of Lowell.
She was the widow of Charles H. MacBride. Members of her family include her son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Catherine MacBride of Methuen; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
