Lifelong resident of Andover
Edith M. (Saunders) Latham, 84, died Wednesday, Sept. 20 at the Academy Manor Nursing Home.
She was born in Andover and was a lifelong resident of Andover. She was educated in Andover schools and attended Punchard High School.
She had been employed in the domestic care field before her retirement.
Members of her family include close friend, William A. Feldman of North Andover; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 29 at 3 p.m. at the Charles F. Dewhirst, Edgerley and Bessom Funeral Home, 33 Pearson St. Burial will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 29 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Worked at security companies in the area
Charles B. Folsom, of Andover and formerly of Haverhill, died Sunday, Sept. 24 at Lawrence General Hospital.
Born in Revere, he moved to Amesbury as a child, where he was educated.
Mr. Folsom served in the Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Folsom worked at various security companies in the area.
While in Amesbury he was involved in Scouting.
He was the widower of Marie "Bea" (Thieverge) Folsom.
Members of his family include a sister, Louise S. LaBranche of Haverhill; and two brothers, Stanley S. Folsom of Amesbury, and John S. Folsom of Long Beach, Calif.
A graveside service was to be held today, Thursday, Sept. 28 at 10 a.m. in Walnut Cemetery, Haverhill.
Arrangements are by H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Homes, Haverhill.

Avid Red Sox fan was an accountant in a local firm
Margaret (Paulson) Burdett, 85, an Andover resident for 23 years and formerly of North Andover, died Tuesday, Sept. 19 at Wingate at Andover.
Born and raised in Providence, R.I., where she attended public school, she was a graduate of Katherine Gibbs School in Boston. She worked as an accountant in an Andover firm for 18 years. She was retired for the past 30 years.
Mrs. Burdett enjoyed various crafts, especially crocheting. She loved gardening and most of all, she was an avid Boston Red Sox fan.
She was the widow of Edward E. Burdett and members of her family include a step-daughter, Judith M. Burdett of Andover; and several close friends. She was the sister of the late Carl Paulson.

Was a retired teacher
Eileen Ann McCrudden, 82, of 2 Weathersfield Drive, died Sunday, Sept. 24 at Academy Manor Nursing Home.
Born in Belfast, Ireland, she lived in the Bradford section of Haverhill from 1981 until moving to Andover in 1992.
Mrs. McCrudden was a retired teacher. She taught kindergarten and first grade for several years at Holy Family School in Florham Park, N.J.
She was a member of Holy Family Church and its Sodality.
She was the widow of Joseph O. Burger. Members of her family include her daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen F. and David Cherny of Andover; a son, Joseph O. Burger Jr. of Milliken, Colo.; two grandsons, Adam D. and Justin J. Cherny of Andover; and a nephew.

Retired from Shawsheen Mills
Sarah E. D'Agata, 93, of Andover and formerly of Methuen, died Tuesday, Sept. 19 at Academy Manor Nursing Home in Andover.
Ms. D'Agata was a weaver in the Shawsheen Mills for several years until she retired.
She was born and educated in Lawrence. She was a member of St. Lucy's Parish.
Members of her family include two nieces, Rosemarie Webb of Andover, with whom she lived for more than three years, and Constance Wark of Boston; two grand-nieces; and one grand-nephew.

Alma Paradise

Longtime local resident; memorial service is Oct. 29
Alma (Sherman Eaton) Paradise, 96, died Wednesday, Sept. 20.
She was born in Lawrence, and attended schools in Andover, Miss Porter's School in Farmington, Conn., and she also attended Boston Cooking School and the New England School of Design, both in Boston.
Mrs. Paradise was a homemaker.
She participated in several local organizations while raising her three children, including the Ladies Benevolent Association, the November Club, Andover Book Club and Red Cross during World War II. She was a member of Christ Church, and held several positions, and she was the first woman to serve on the Vestry.
For 42 years, Mrs. Paradise was a member of the Lawrence General Hospital board of trustees. She served a leading role on several hospital committees and was re-elected to the post of secretary several times.
She also was a member of the Society of the Companions of the Holy Cross, a community of about 800 women in the Episcopal Church with a retreat center, Adelynrood, in South Byfield. She was active with the group until the early 1990s, when her health weakened. She was a graduate of the Education for Ministry Course, sponsored by the University of the South School of Theology.
She was the widow of Scott H. Paradise, who died in 1959 and was an English teacher at Phillips Academy. Mrs. Paradise frequently entertained faculty, parents, students, trustees, and alumni, at Phillips with her afternoon tea time gatherings. For 30 years, those teas refreshed tired teachers and lonely boys along with visitors from all over the globe.
She was an ardent reader, a skilled knitter, a passionate crossword puzzle player and a superb cook, her family said. She was also a gifted painter of landscapes in oils.
Members of her family include two daughters, Carol Decker of Santa Fe, N.M., and Polly Russell of Craftsbury, Vt.; a son, the Rev. Scott I. Paradise of West Newton; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, Oct. 29 at 2 p.m. at Christ Church in Andover.
