NEWBURYPORT -- Irene (Webber) Currier, 76, of 198 Low St., died yesterday afternoon at Anna Jaques Hospital.
Mrs. Currier was a bookkeeper at several local businesses, including S.S. Kresge's, Grants, and Riverview Restaurant.
Born in Newburyport, she graduated from Newburyport High School.
The widow of Malcolm F. Currier, she leaves son and daughter-in-law Malcolm F. Jr. and Janet, and daughter and son-in-law Sheila A. and John Pelletier, all of Newburyport; brothers Harold Webber of Amesbury, and Donald, Ralph and Norman "Tommy" Webber, all of Newburyport; one grandson; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

LAWRENCE -- Rena (Carderre) DeRienzo, 88, died Thursday.
Mrs. DeRienzo was a mender at Stevens Mills before she retired.
The widow of Angelo DeRienzo, she leaves son Alphonse of Derry, N.H.; sister Lillian Laurent of Lowell; two grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: There will be no calling hours. A memorial Mass will be Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, Pelham, N.H.
Bernardino J. Diodati

HAVERHILL -- Bernardino J. "Bennie" Diodati, 80, died Sunday at Sunbridge Care & Rehab in Methuen.
Mr. Diodati was a self-employed contractor and owned and operated Diodati & Son for 35 years until retiring in 1980.
Born in Haverhill, he graduated from Haverhill Trade School in 1940.
During World War II, Mr. Diodati served in the Navy Seabees.
He was a member of the former St. Joseph's Church, now All Saints Church. He was also a member of the Haverhill Lodge of Elks, Victor Emanuel Lodge, Sons of Italy and American Legion.
He leaves daughter and son-in-law Rosemary J. and Michael Thuotte of Haverhill; brother Giacomo Diodati of Purchase, N.Y.; sister Louise Cristofaro of Groveland; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was also father of the late Kenneth J. and Carol Ann Diodati.

HAVERHILL -- Muriel E. (Cronk) DiVincenzo, 63, died yesterday.
Mrs. DiVincenzo was a registered nurse at the former Hale Hospital for more than 40 years, last working in the emergency room. She retired in 1999.
Born in Haverhill and educated in Newburyport, she graduated from New England Baptist School of Nursing in 1959.
She leaves husband Peter J. DiVincenzo; sons Lawrence Macomber and his wife Patricia of Hopedale, Douglas Macomber and his wife Audrey of Haverhill and Peter DiVincenzo Jr. of Gloucester; daughters Cheryl Des Rochers and Jeana DiVincenzo, both of Haverhill; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was also mother of the late Julia DiVincenzo.

NEWTON, N.H. -- Dr. Thorvald "Scotty" Hellesen, 92, formerly of Packer Meadows, died Saturday at Parkland Medical Center in Derry.
Dr. Hellesen first worked as a sales representative for an insurance company. After graduating from Chiropractic School of New York, he set up a practice on Long Island, N.Y., and later moved his offices to Barton, Vt., and continued to practice until he was 81. Dr. Hellesen also owned and operated Ben Franklin Store in Barton for several years.
Born in Liverpool, England, he attended schools in Scotland and moved to the United States in New York City. He moved to Newton in 1995.
He was a member of Barton Methodist Church. He was also a member of Barton Lodge of Masons, the Chamber of Commerce and the Committee for Federal Housing Grants.
Dr. Hellesen was a member of Orleans Country Club.
He leaves wife Sara (Rutherford) Hellesen; son and daughter-in-law James and Doris of Londonderry; daughter and son-in-law Sara and Ambrose Reoch of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; brother James R. of Liverpool; and four grandchildren.

WEST NEWBURY -- Roger B. Hicken, 85, died Saturday at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport.
He was born in Everett.
During World War II, Mr. Hicken served in the Army.
He leaves wife of 57 years Queenie A. (Williams) Hicken; son David of West Newbury; daughter Elizabeth of Connecticut; and sister Mary Parker of Rowley.

HAVERHILL -- John J. Lynch, 78, died Saturday at his home.
Mr. Lynch was a textile printer at Malden Mills for 45 years until retiring in 1991.
Born and educated in Lawrence, he graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1941.
He was also an owner and trainer of harness and thoroughbred horses for 40 years at Rockingham Park in Salem, N.H., and Suffolk Downs in Boston.
Mr. Lynch served in the Navy as a machinist's mate. He enjoyed flying in his private plane.
He leaves his wife Pauline L. (Beland) Lynch; son-in-law Joseph Marquis of Haverhill; sisters Alice Pendergast of Newburyport and Ruth Conlon of Plum Island; one grandson; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. He was also father of the late Judy Lynch and Leeann Reilly.

Enid L. Steele

ANDOVER -- Enid L. (Enright) Steele, 84, died yesterday at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen.
Mrs. Steele worked at Ludington Footwear and Converse Rubber until she retired in 1975.
Born in Liverpool, England, she moved to the United States in 1956 from Glasgow, Scotland.
She was a member of United Riverside Congregational Church, where she was active with the Women's Auxiliary.
Mrs. Steele directed several amateur theater productions for area churches and was a founding member, past president, director and performer of the Garrett Players, a theater group that performed in Greater Lawrence.
The widow of John M. Steele, she leaves daughters Laura Mann of Littleton, Colo., Jacqueline Steele and partner Russell Gamache of Henderson, Nev., and Linda and her husband Fred Fuoco of Salem, N.H.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Calling hours are tomorrow from 5 to 7 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 7 p.m. at John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, 122 Amesbury St., Lawrence. Cremation will be at a later date.
