Alice E. Sullivan of Andover died Thursday, Jan. 18 at Mariner Healthcare Center in Methuen.
Ms. Sullivan was a first-grade teacher at Saunders School in Lawrence for many years.
Born and educated in Lawrence, Ms. Sullivan graduated from Lowell Normal School. She attended the former St. Laurence O'Toole Church in Lawrence.
She enjoyed reading, spending summers in Maine and traveling.
Members of her family include many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, and great-grand- nieces and nephews.

Ethel S. Hibbert

Ethel S. (Monroe) Hibbert, 92, formerly of 341/2 Maple Avenue, died Tuesday, Jan. 30 at Oakdale Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in West Boylston.
Mrs. Hibbert worked at Tyer Rubber Co., Hardy Brush Co. of Shawsheen and the Andover school cafeteria system.
Born in Andover, she lived in town for 92 years.
She was the widow of Samuel Hibbert, and members of her family include daughters, Esther Moody of Florida and Ethel Zocco of Shrewsbury; sisters, Bessie Vigneault of Lawrence, Lillian Hoyt of North Andover, Isabelle Hutchings of North Carolina, Dorothy Piercy of North Andover, Gladys Flores of California, and Barbara Caldwell of Florida; a brother, John Monroe of Florida; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Edward J. Bishop Sr.

Edward J. Bishop, Sr., 59, of Andover, died of cancer on Friday, Feb. 2 at home.
Mr. Bishop was born in Medford and was raised and educated in Medford and Melrose. He was a 1958 graduate of Melrose High School and a 1963 graduate of Tufts University. He lived in Andover since 1976.
Mr. Bishop worked for many years in the computer industry, having been employed with Entrex Company, Honeywell Corp., and he was retired from Digital Corp. Most recently, Mr. Bishop worked at Saturn of Haverhill.
He was a member of St. Augustine Church.
Members of his family include his wife, Susan M. (Lane) Bishop of Andover; a son, E. John Bishop, Jr. of Wolfeboro, N.H.; two daughters, Carolyn L. and her husband Richard Jussaume of Acton, and Mary Frances Bishop of Melrose; his parents, J. Harold and Mary A. (Shea) Bishop of Melrose; and one grandson.

Marietta Doig

Marietta (Stevenson) Doig, 83, of Magnolia Avenue, died Sunday, Feb. 4 at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen.
Born and educated in Lawrence, Mrs. Doig attended Free Christian Church.
She enjoyed gardening, bowling, reading, sewing and cooking.
She was the widow of David A.S. Doig.
Members of her family include her daughters, Elizabeth Brucato of Methuen, and Jane and husband Clifford Howe of North Hampton, N.H.; sisters, Helen Travers of Methuen and Florence Faro of Salem, N.H.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Diane (Terhune) Hill, 70, of Methuen, died Thursday, Feb. 1 at Lawrence General Hospital.
Mrs. Hill was a librarian at Memorial Hall Library in Andover for more than 20 years before she retired.
Born in Montclair, N.J., she was raised in Ridgewood, N.J. She graduated from Mount Holyoke College in 1952.
She lived in Andover for more than 35 years, moving to Methuen about five years ago.
Mrs. Hill was a member of West Parish Church in Andover and Groveland Congregational Church.
She was a longtime volunteer at Holy Family Hospital and was a volunteer with local adult literacy programs.
Members of her family include son and daughter-in-law, Alan T. and Leslie Hill of Hampton Falls, N.H.; daughters and sons-in-law, Cathlyn M. Hill and Manny Batista of Westford, and Lauren C. Hill and James Sanner of Newmarket, N.H.; former husband, Frank Hill of Haverhill; sister, Barbara T. Storer of Burlington Flats, N.Y.; five grandchildren; and six nieces and nephews.

Nellie A. Irvine

Nellie A. Irvine, 95, of Andover died Thursday, Feb. 1 at Berkeley Retirement Home in Lawrence.
Ms. Irvine was a supervisor in the accounting department at the Andover Companies for 48 years.
A longtime Andover resident, she graduated from Punchard High School and attended MacIntosh Business School in Lawrence.
She was a member of Christ Church, where she was active with the Altar Guild, the Girls Friendly and the thrift store. She was a worthy past Matron of Order of Eastern Star Chapter 185, Andover, and was active with the Andover Senior Citizens Center.
She leaves close friends, Thomas J. Garvey, Linda (Black) and her husband Thomas Jenkins, and Gordon and Martha Edgar, all of Andover.

Irving Willis

Irving Willis, 88, a resident of Andover for 42 years, also of Palm Beach, Fla., died Sunday, Feb. 4 in Boston.
Mr. Willis was founder and president of Professional and Hospital Equipment Co. of New England. He was an award-winning inventor whose international patents had applications in many commercial industries.
Also, he authored training manuals for the hospital industry and was a national consultant to the US Veterans Administration.
He graduated from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. He served as an officer in the Army.
Mr. Willis was a member of Falls Country Club in Florida, the Lions Club, the Shriners Scottish Rite, and a 32nd Degree Mason. He was a philanthropist for children's causes and past president of Temple Emanuel Brotherhood of Andover.
Members of his family include his wife, Ruth Willis; a daughter, Lady Susan Willis; a son, Dana Willis; daughter-in-law Kerry Willis; and sister Laura Edwards Riseberg.

Marianne Buchholz

Marianne (Witten) Buchholz, 57, of North Andover and formerly a longtime Andover resident, died Saturday, Feb. 3 at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston after a battle with emphysema.
Born in Winthrop and educated in Brookline, Mrs. Buchholz graduated from the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut. She worked for many years as a dental hygienist at several local dental practices, retiring 15 years ago.
Mrs. Buchholz was a member of Andover Jewish Fellowship and the MDDA.
She volunteered in Andover schools, and enjoyed music, ice skating and playing tennis.
Members of her family include her mother, Ruth Witten of Peabody; sons, Eric and wife Suzanne Buchholz of North Andover, and Daniel Buchholz of Boston; brother, Fred Witten of Los Angeles, Calif.; and one grandson.
