Worcester - Paul H. Hanson, 61, of 18 Cowden St., was stricken and died Wednesday, May 31 in St. Vincent Hospital.
He leaves his wife of 33 years, Catherine (Lenis) Hanson, a son, Kurt P. Hanson of Worcester, and a brother, Russell Hanson of Auburn.
Born in Worcester, he was the son of Linus and Helen (Sanford) Hanson and lived here most of his life. He was a graduate of Auburn High School and served in the National Guard. Mr. Hanson worked as a security guard for the Burns Security Company for 10 years at the A.T.& T. building in Worcester until retiring due to illness. He was an avid golfer.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Today,Friday June 2 in Callahan Brothers Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St. Burial will be in All Faith Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m., June 1 and 10 to 11 a.m. Friday June 2 at the funeral home before the service. Shrewbury - Noel E. Hare, Sr., 74 of 43 Woodway Drive, died Wednesday July 12 at home after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 54 years, Phyllis J. Clark of Shrewsbury; one son, Noel E. "Skip" Hare Jr.,of Southampton, Long Island, N.Y.; one daughter, Irene L. Brown of Hyannis, a brother, Robert L. Hare of Jamesville, N.Y. and six grandchildren one great grandson and several nieces and nephews.
Born in Gasport, N.Y., he was the son of Noel R. and Irene A.(Pringle)Hare and lived in Shrewsbury since 1964. Mr. Hare was a Career military man serving in the U.S.Marine Corps from 1943 to 1967.He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Asiatic and Pacific Theaters and was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars, attaining the rank of 1st Sgt. Among his numerous metals and awards are the Asiatic Pacific Combat Metal with eight stars, the Philippine Liberation Metal with two stars and the Korean Service Metal with 5 stars. After retiring from the Marine Corps, he worked at Spag's Supply for 23years retiring in 1987. He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Shrewsbury, the Shrewsbury Grange, the Ray Stone Post of the American Legion, the North Grafton Fish & Game Club, the Worcester County Sportsman's Club, and the Marine Corps League.
The funeral was Monday, July 17 at 10 a.m. at Callahan Brothers Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester. Burial was Tuesday, July 18 in Cold Spring Cemetery, Lockport, NY. Stephen H. Healey, Jr. - 80

Worcester - Stephen H. Healey, Jr., 80, of 6 Brandon Road, died Monday, Jan. 1, in St. Vincent Hospital after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 52 years, Clare J. (Rourke) Healey, a son, Stephen J. Healey of Oakland, CA. and a daughter, Joan E. Benoit of Spencer, five grandchildren and 10 nieces and nephews and many grandnieces and grandnephews.
Born in Worcester, He was the son of Stephen H. and Elizabeth (Hart) Healey, Sr. and lived here most of his life. He was a 1939 graduate of St. John's High School and the former Worcester Junior College. He served as a Staff Sgt. with the U.S. Army Military Police during W. W. II in France and Germany. Mr. Healey worked at Norton Company in various positions for 40 years, retiring as a Customer Service Representative in 1980. He was a member of the Greendale Retired Men's Club, St. John's High School Alumni Association and a long time member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church.

Worcester - Robert L. Heath, 73, formerly of 81-23 Park Ave., died Tuesday, February 13, in the Woonsocket Health Care Center, Woonsocket, RI., after an illness.
His wife of 50 years, Mattie (Hines) Heath died in 1999. He leaves three daughters, Gwendolyn Blaber of Baldwinville, Beverly Russell of Woonsocket and Nola Cunningham of Louisville, GA., two brothers, James Heath of Batavia, NY, and Eugene Heath of Charlotte, NC, four sisters, Susie and Barbara Heath of Worcester, Carrie and Emily Heath of Toms River, NJ, 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Two sons, Robert and Demetreus Heath and three sisters, Gertrude, Estelle and Inez, all predeceased him.
Born in Louisville, GA, he was the son of Andrew and Rose (Flenoid) Heath. He lived in New York City and worked in construction for Ingram and Greene, Inc., where he became a foreman. He retired after 30 years. He moved to Worcester in 1986.
Burial was in Hope Cemetery.

She leaves her brother, Francis H. Henderson of Worcester,a nephew and two grandnephews.
Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of Charles and Mary (O'Leary) Henderson and lived here all her life. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy and Becker Junior College. Miss Henderson worked for the former Sawyers Lumber Company of Worcester and then for Consumer Auto Parts, retiring in 1991. She was a parishioner of St.Paul's Cathedral.

She leaves two sisters, Margaret E. Deedy of Worcester and Martha A. Jackson of Worcester, three nephews, William B. Deedy of Holden, Daniel F. Deedy of Worcester and John J. Deedy of Boston and a niece, Martha Mary Magner of Framingham and several grandnieces.
Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of John and Margaret G. (McNeilly) Jackson and lived here all her life. She was a graduate of Ascension High School and Becker Junior College. She was the assistant treasurer and secretary of the corporation at Riley Stoker for 30 years, retiring in 1982. Miss Jackson was a long time member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church and a member of its Friendly Folks group.

He leaves two sons, Paul C. Dumas and Shawn A. Parker both of Worcester, a daughter Merinda A. Dumas with whom he lived , two brothers, Ronald Jenkins of Nashua , NH, and Leonard Jenkins of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, a sister Sharon Dube of Nashua, NH, six grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A brother William Jenkins of Nashua, NH died in 1993.
He was Born in Nashua, NH, son of Cloyce W. and Florence J.(Rock) Jenkins and lived many years in Worcester. Mr. Jenkins worked as a machinist for the Polar Beverage Corporation for 18 years, retiring in 1998 due to illness.
The Funeral service will be Saturday, April 21 at 2 p.m. in Callahan Brothers Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St. After cremation burial will be at the family's convenience. Calling hours are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday , April 21, at the funeral home.

Worcester - Catherine C. Johnson, 88, of Country Club Blvd., died Thursday, April 5, in St. Francis Home after an illness.
Her husband of 52 years, William H. Johnson died in 1998 She leaves one son, William E. Johnson of Worcester , A granddaughter Jessica M. Johnson of Worcester, a niece Elizabeth "Betty Ann" Alfreds of Worcester. A nephew William P. Johnson died April 4, 2001.
She was born in Marlborough daughter of Edward J. and Hannah V. (Lehane) Hilland and graduated from Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1975. She worked for the Belmont home and other long-term care facilities in Worcester. She also worked as a private duty nurse for several years.
Mrs. Johnson was a longtime member of St. Joan of Arc Church, the American Nursing Association, and Memorial Hospital Alumni Association. She enjoyed line dancing and arts and crafts.

OXFORD - George W. Keeney Jr., 84,of 23 Wheelock St. Oxford, formerly of Vernon Hill, Worcester, died Monday Aug.14 at the U.Mass. Hospital, Memorial campus after a short illness.
He leaves two daughters; Mary E. Robichaud of Auburn and Patricia T. Faucher of Portsmouth RI., six grandchildren, one great grandchild, many nieces and nephews. His wife of 43yrs, Nora C.(O'Leary) Keeney, died in 1989.
Born in Worcester he was the son of George W. and Margaret T.(O'Reily) Keeney Sr. and moved to Oxford in 1987.
Mr. Keeney was a foreman and a machinist at the former North American Products Co. retiring in 1981. He was a veteran of W.W.II serving in the US Army Air Corps in India and China. He was a member of St. Roch's church and an avid sports fan.

Bolton - Rev. Robert L. Killion, 74, pastor of St. Francis Xavier Church, died Thursday March 29 in Carney Hospital, Dorchester, after an illness.
He leaves cousins.
Born in the Forest Hills section of Boston, he was the son of James P. and Mary A. (Hardiman) Killion. He was ordained on September 29, 1953 at Holy Cross Cathedral Boston by Archbishop Richard J. Cushing. He served as a priest in the Worcester Diocese in numerous parishes for over 47 years.
Bishop George E. Reuger will celebrate the Rite of Reception of Rev. Killion at 8 a.m. on Mon. Apr. 2 in preparation for his funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Francis Xavier Church, 808 Main St. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Worcester. There are no calling hours. He leaves his wife of 49 years, Anne M. (Nicholson) Kiritsy, four sons, John M. Kiritsy of Manchester, NH, Paul J. Kiritsy of Boston, Patrick G. Kiritsy of No. Brookfield, and George P. Kiritsy of Worcester, three daughters, Judy A. Roy of Browns Summit, NC, Mary E. Foley of Shrewsbury, and Anne M. Del Mastro of Holden, four bothers, Francis Kiritsy of Auburn, George Kiritsy of Spencer, Theodore Kiritsy of Worcester and Hugh Kiritsy of Upton, a sister, Rosemary Kiritsy of Worcester, 25 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Born in Providence, RI, he was the son of George P. and Mary K. (Reynolds) Kiritsy and moved to Worcester at the age of four. He was a graduate of Classical High School and of Holy Cross College in 1951. He served in the U. S. Coast Guard during World War II and then served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. Kiritsy was Assitant Director of manufacturing at Astra Pharmaceutical for 35 years retiring in 1989. He was past Vice President of the Parenteral Drug Association and member of its Board of Directors. He was a Boy Scout leader and troop master for Troop 37 at Christ the King Church. Mr. Kiritsy was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an active member of Christ the King Church, serving on the parish council, as a teacher of Christian Doctrine, a Lector, and a Eucharistic Minister.

Monfreda of Sterling, two bothers, Philip Kwiatkowski of Worcester and Ralph Kwiatkowski of Westborough, three sisters, Florence Apher of West Palm Beach, FL, Christine Cummins and Ann Marie Kwiatkowski, both of Worcester, five grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Born in Worcester, he was the son of Peter and Mary (Butkiewicz) Kwiatkowski and lived here most of his life. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II and served in the Marine Corps from 1946 to 1948. Mr. Kwiatkowski worked for Penn Truck Lines for several years. He was member of the Teamsters Union Local 170. He was an avid golfer, pool player and billiard player.

Worcester - Mary M. Law, 61 of 53 Brigham Rd., a tester for the Allegro Micro Systems died, Monday Jan.1, at home after a battle with cancer.
She leaves her husband of 44 years, Richard F. Law, Sr. of Worcester; two sons, Richard F. Law, Jr. of Worcester, and David J. Law of Charlton; three daughters, Sabrina A. Yodice, Ellen M. McCarthy and Heidi A. McCarthy all of Worcester; a brother Roland E. Cooper, Jr. of North Adams, MA; four sisters, Eileen Cofske and Jean Madden both of Worcester, Carrie Caliri of Nothboro, Kathleen Martel of North Brookfield; 12 grandchildren;and one great- grandchild; many nieces and nephews.
Born in Worcester she was the daughter of Roland E. and Eileen (Murphy) Cooper and lived in Worcester most of her life.
Mrs. Law worked as a tester at the former Spraque Electric Company, now Allegro Micro Systems for 34 years.
She was a longtime member of Christ the King Church. She was also a member of the Night Owl Square Dance Club of Rochdale. Mrs. Law was an avid cook who specialized in wedding cakes.

Worcester - Gennie A. (Ciuksza) Laurie, 86, of 64 Dorchester St., died Saturday Jan. 20 at the Providence Extended Care Center after an illness.
She leaves her husband of 54 years, Theodore R. Laurie; a daughter, Lorraine Michele Laurie; a sister, Helen R. Wright and a nephew, Matthew J. Wright, all of Worcester. Her brother; Joseph V. Ciuksza died in 1983. She was born in Millbury, daughter of Zygmunt A. and Antonia A. (Falewicz) Ciuksza and moved to Worcester in 1932.
Mrs. Laurie graduated from Millbury High School and the former Fairchild's Office School. She was a cashier at the former Alpha Lunch and later at the former Denholm's Department Store. She was a member of the Ascension Church, the Green Island Residents Group, Inc., and did crafts for the former Green Island Adult Arts and Crafts Club.

Auburn - Alice M. Laycock, 83, of 12 Aurilla St., died Sunday January 21 in the Meadows of Leicester.
Her husband of 15 years, Joseph A. Laycock died in 1964. She leaves two sons, Stephen J. Laycock of Worcester and Gerald P. Laycock of North Oxford, two granddaughters, 4 nieces and a nephew.
Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of Thomas and Nora (Higgins) Duggan, and lived in Auburn for many years. She was a graduate of Commerce High School, Worcester. She worked as an administrative assistant for the Talbot Trading Company. Mrs. Laycock was a former member of the Board of Trustees of the South Worcester Library. She loved to read and to walk and was an avid golfer and bowler. She was a founding member of the North American Martyrs Church.

Worcester - George M. Lenis,86 of 10 Lee4 St.,died in Saint Vincent Hospital after a short illness.
He leaves is wife of 54 years Vasilike (Doutsis) Lenis; two daughters, Millie Saari of Leicester and Evelyn Lenis of Worcester; three sons, Mark Lenis, Charles Lenis and John Lenis all of Worcester; and six grandchildren; one sister Dimitroula Peristeri of Athens Greece. A sister Evelyn Pappa of Tsamanta, Epirus, Greece died in 1943.
Born in Tsamanta, Epirus, Greece, the son of Mark and Melia (Pantazis) Lenis, he has lived in Worcester since 1931. He graduated from High School in the island of Corfu, Greece.
Mr. Lenis was a World War II Army Veteran serving with Company C 762 Tank Battalion in the South Pacific. Following the war he served for a year in Okinawa , Japan.
Prior to being drafted Mr. Lenis owned a Confectionary Store in Worcester for one year. After the War, he owned a Doughnut shop for four yearsd~nd then he worked for General Bakery for eleven years. He retired in 1968 after working seventeen years as a truck for the Telegram and Gazette.
He was a member of Saint Spyridon Greek Orthodox Catherdral and was a former member of The American Legion Post ESPAS 424.

His wife, Doris (St. Martin) Peterson died in 1996. He leaves three nephews, Charles Peterson of Grafton,Ma., Robert Peterson of Oxford, MA. and Gerald Peterson of Cape Cod,MA., two nieces, Ann Marie Wilson of Arlington,MA.,Beverly Peterson of St. Petersburg, FL. and his sister-in-law M. Iola Witkowski of DeBary, Fl.
Born in Somerville, MA., he was the son of Ernest and Mary (Sexton) Peterson and lived in Worcester for many years, moving to Florida 20 years ago. A World War II Army veteran, Mr. Peterson served in Germany and Belgium. He was a sheet metal worker for the former W. J. Callahan Company of Worcester 25 years.

She was born in Lares, Puerto Rico daughter of Alejandro and Maria Isabel (Lopez) Lucena.
Mrs. Luncena came to the United states in 1960 where she worked as a housekeeper in private homes in Jersey City,New Jersey for many years. She moved to Worcester in 1999 and lived with her daughter Maria Brioni. She was dressmaker and an avid cook.

He owned and operated the Holiday Pizza at Tatnuck Square for 11 years. He was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church.

Born in Machala, Ecuador, she came to Worcester in 1982. She was a graduate of the Quinby School, Worcester and participated in the Seven Hill's-Therapeutic Work Options of Worcester since 1988.

Worcester - Mary E. Marlborough, of Worcester, formerly of 21 Lansing Ave., died Friday, May 4 in UMass Memorial Medical Center Memorial Campus after an illness.
She is survived by her sister, Lillian D.Carroll, of Shrewsbury, several nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and great grandnieces and great grandnephews.
Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of John J. and Margaret H. (Delaney) Marlborough and lived here most of her life. She was a graduate of South High School and the former Worcester Normal School. Ms. Marlborough was a teacher in the Worcester Public Schools for 40 years, primarily at the Adams Square School. She was an active supporter of Assumption College, a member of the Mechanics Hall Association, Worcester State College Alumni Association, the National Teachers Association and the Massachusetts Teachers Association and the Retired Worcester Teachers Assoc. She was a long time member of St. George's Church.
The funeral was Wednesday May 9 from Callahan Brothers Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St., with a Mass in St. George's Church, 38 Brattle St. Burial was in St. Brigid's Cemetery, Millbury. Worcester- Elisabeth M. McCann, 77, formerly of 535 Chandler St., died Wednesday May 3, in Hospice Residence 10 Judith Road, after an illness.
She leaves three daughters; Maureen E. Green of Syracuse, N.Y., Karen J. Maneen of Richmond, Va. and Susan McCann of Hilton Head South Carolina; four grandchildren. Her husband of Fourty three years Matthew R. McCann died in 1998. A sister Anna Baumgartner died in 1997.She was born in Munich, Germany the daughter of Eduard and Josefa (Klotz) Kainz.
Mrs. McCann worked as a civilian in Germany as a private Secretary in the Luftgau Commando. In 1948 she came to Worcester and worked as a bookeeper at the Day Brothers Company.
She was a member of Christ the King Church for many years and a member of the Paxton Tennis Club. She liked to sew and knit and was an avid gardner.
The funeral was held from Callahan Brothers Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St., Saturday, May 6 with a Mass at 11:30 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant St. Burial was in St. John's Cemetery. Memorial donatin may be made to the Vistitng Nurses Assication Hospice Program, 120 Thomas St., Worcester, MA 01608.
