Joan M. Bosworth
Joan M. (Curley) Bosworth,72, of Milton, died Saturday July 13 at her home after a brief illness.
Born in Dorchester, Mrs. Bosworth was a retired office manager for C.B. Bosworth Contractors Co. She was a graduate of Jean D'Arc Acadenmy of Milton.
She is survived by her husband, Charles B. Bosworth Jr.; six children, Marietta Tsinzo of Duxbury, Charles B. Bosworth III, Kathleen Cook, Janice Bosworth Dunphy, Elizabeth A. Bosworth and Susan Bosworth, all of Milton, and nine grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Nancy Bosworth.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Elizabeth Church July 16. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.

John L. Sullivan
John L. Sullivan, 91, of Quincy, died July 7.
Mr. Sullivan grew up in South Boston and was a graduate of South Boston High School. He lived in Quincy for the past 50 years. He was a retired postal clerk.
He served in the Army during WWII and was a member of the Paul Saunders VFW Post in South Boston.
He is survived by his wife Helen A. (Duffy) Sullivan; a son, John F. Sullivan of Quincy; a daughter, Maureen T. McCarthy of Milton, and two grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated July 11 at St. Agatha Church. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.

Josephine T. Bennett
Josephine T. (Walsh) Bennett, 84, of Dorchester, died July 12 at Carney Hospital.
She was a retired computer programmer who worked for the federal government for more than 20 years.
Born in Boston, Mrs. Bennett grew up in South Boston and lived most of her life in Dorchester.
Wife of the late Charles W. Bennett, she is survived by a son, Charles J. Bennett of Braintree; three daughters, Joanne T. Fitzpatrick of Norton, Eileen M. Mullen of Hyde Park and Patricia V. Murphy of Quincy; a brother, James Walsh of Milton; five sisters, Helen Gast of Wisconsin, and Claire Hooley of Milton, and seven grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Brendan's Church. Burial was in New Calvary Cemetery.

Benjamin Fredey Jaques
Benjamin Fredey Jaques, 96, of Vero Beach, Massachusetts, New England and United States Golf Associations.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Suzanne Runton of Milton, and Mrs. Rosalie Williamson of Cromwell, Conn; seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in Milton in the future.

Josephine E. Green
Josephine E. (Crowley) Green, 91, of Milton died July 9 at Anna Jacques Hospital in Newburyport.
Mrs. Green was born and raised in Boston. She was a graduate of East Boston High School. She lived in Milton for more than 40 years.
Wife of the late George J. Green, she is survived by two sons, George E. Green of Framingham and Francis X. Green of Boston, three daughters, Florence Buckley of Milton, Alice M. Bresnahan of Centerville and Donna Glidden of Stoughton; three sisters, Alice Buckley of Milton; Marguerite Yaxter of Quincy and Mary Cotton of West Newton, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Elizabeth Church July 13.

Marie M. Duran
Marie M. (Shields) Duran, 79, of Milton, died July 13 at Carney Hospital in Dorchester after a brief illness.
Born and raised in Milton, she graduated from St. Gregory's High School and Carney Hospital Nursing School. She then served in the Navy during W.W.II.
Mrs. Duran was a nurse at St. Margaret's Hospital in Dorchester for 25 years.
Wife of the late John J. Duran, she is survived by six children, Katie Arsenault of Athol; Brian J. Duran of Braintree; Anne Brennan of Pembroke; Mary M. Krantz and Ellen Fox, both of Braintree; Stephen T. Duran of Milton; a sister Anna McGuiggan of Squantum, and 16 grandchildren.
She was also the mother of the late Susan E. Duran.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated July 17 in St. Elizabeth Church. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.

Laura B. (Aldridge) Powers, 44, of Milton, died July 4 at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.
Born and raised in Portland, Oregon State University.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas M. Powers; two sons, Nolan W. Powers and Colin R. Powers of Milton; a daughter, Cahley M. Powers of Milton; her parents, Walter L. Aldridge and Dorothy (Coldiron) Aldridge of Oregon; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass was celebrated July 9 at St. Mary of the Hills Church. Burial was at Milton Cemetery.

Edward J. Leonard
Edward J. Leonard, 85, of Quincy, died July 18 at his home.
Born in Boston and raised in Mattapan, Mr. Leonard graduated from Dorchester High School. He also lived in Weymouth and Milton before moving to Quincy seven years ago.
He retired in 1991 from Purity Supreme Supermarkets after 50 years of service.
Mr. Leonard was a World War II veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret M. (Morris) Leonard of Quincy; a son, Edward J. Leonard of Plymouth; seven daughters, Mary M. Leonard of Quincy; Ann M. Horgan of Westfield; Margaret M. Greenberg of Melrose; Claire T. Lavine of Needham; Kathleen R. Carten of Milton; Joan E. Cunningham of Quincy and Judith F. Rezendes of Sandwich; three sisters, Ruth Grout of Jamaica Plain; Eleanor Leonard of Hyde Park and Kathleen R. Kelly of Westwood; he is also survived by 20 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
A funeral Mass was celebrated July 22 at St. Mary's Church in West Quincy. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.

Arlene C. Buck
Arlene C. (Slader) Buck, 92, of Milton, died July 22.
Mrs. Buck was born in Milton and graduated from Milton High School. She worked as a clerk in the assessor's office and in the building department for the town. Mrs. Buck was the wife of the late Donald E. Buck. She is survived by two sons; Frank S. Buck of Brockton and Donald B. Buck of Bridgewater; one daughter, Rosalyn A. Forsyth of Kingston, and seven grandchildren. She was the mother of the late William B. Buck.
A funeral service was celebrated in the Dolan Funeral Home on July 26. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery, Boston.

Mary E. Palardy
Mary E. (Schwendeman) Palardy, 78, of Milton died July 18 at Milton Health Care.
Mrs. Palardy was a lifelong Milton resident. She graduated from Milton High School and attended the Boston University School of Administration, Boston College School of Management and the American institute of Banking.
Mrs. Palardy was a former employee of the Bank of Boston where she became the first female inspector at the bank. She also served as an auditor and loan officer.
She was president of the St. Mary of the Hills guild, a 15-year member of the board of directors at the Milton Residence for the Elderly and worked as an administrative assistant at St. Mary of the Hills Parish for 25 years.
Mrs. Palardy is survived by her husband, Francis H. Palardy; and a son, the Rev. William B. Palardy of Brighton.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Mary of the Hills Church on July 22. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.
