Walter H. Nolan
Walter H. Nolan, 89, died on February 27 at Milton Health Care.
Mr. Nolan was a retired executive secretary for the Massachusets Commission Against Discrimination.
He was an intelligence officer during World War II and had worked on the Manhattan Project, which developed the atomic bomb.
Born in Boston, he was raised in South Boston and lived in Mattapan and Milton, and in West Dennis for 30 years.
Husband of the late Catherine F. (Spellman) Nolan, he is survived by three daughters, Patricia MacNaught and Mary Jane Magnaghi of Milton, and Kathleen A. Hurton of Wakefield; a sister, Mary Ward of Scituate; eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Gregory's Church in Dorchester on March 4. Burial was private.

Helen G. Sheehan
Helen G. Sheehan, 92, died on February 27 at Hancock Park Nursing Center in Quincy.
Miss Sheehan was a retired elementary school teacher who taught for 40 years in Dorchester and South Boston before retiring in 1970.
She was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis and the New Hampshire.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at Sacred Heart Church in Quincy on March 2. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.

Ann M. Duwan
Ann M. (Guinan) Duwan, 76, died on March 6 at her home.
Mrs. Duwan was a secretary for the Building Trades Employers Association in Quincy for 40 years before her retirement in 1999.
She was a member and past president of the St. Ann's Marianns in Wollaston and a member of the Neighborhood Club of Quincy, Wychmere Harbor Club of Harwich and the Junior League of Catholic Women.
She was born and raised in Milton and was a 1942 graduate of Milton High School. She lived in Quincy for 40 years.
She is survived by her husband, Richard P. Duwan; a brother, John F. Guinan of Quincy, and a sister-in-law, Carmelita Guinan of Quincy.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Ann's Church in Wollaston on March 9. Burial was private.

John T. Kelley
John T. Kelley, 56, died March 3 at his home.
Mr. Kelley worked at Gillete Co. in South Boston for 10 years.
He was a member of the Peninsula Yacht Club, South Boston.
Born in Boston, he was raised in South Boston and lived there until moving to Wollaston four years ago.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor A. (Barkowsky) Kelley; a son, John J. Kelley of South Boston; a daughter, Cheryl A. Kelley-Powers of Wollaston, and four brothers, James Kelley of Rockland, Robery Kelley of Charlestown, and Paul Kelley and William Kelley of South Boston.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at Sacred Heart Church in Quincy on March 7. Burial was in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.

Mary T. Moran
Mary T. (Sullivan) Moran, 77, of Quincy, died on March 9 at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Brighton.
Mrs. Moran had worked at Sears Roebuck in Boston.
She was a longtime parishioner of St. Agatha's Parish where she was a bingo volunteer.
She was born in Brockton, raised in Dorchester and educated in Boston schools. She lived in Quincy for 50 years.
Wife of the late Michael J. Moran, she is survived by a daughter, Barbara M. Plunkett of Brockton; a brother, John Sullivan of Westwood; a sister, Katherine Owens of Weymouth, and three grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Stephen J. Moran.
A funeral Mass was celebrated St. Agatha's Church on March 13. Burial was in Pine Hill Cemetery in Quincy.

Kathleen M. Quinlan
Kathleen M. Quinlan, 89, died on March 6 at Greycliff at Cape Ann Nursing Home in Gloucester.
Ms. Quinlan worked in the banking and retail industries. She was employed for many years by American All Safe in Buffalo, Texas for many years. She lived with her sister in South Yarmouth for 10 years and has resided in Gloucester for the past six years.
Daughter of the late Charles F. and Mary A. (Dempsey) Quinlan, she is survived by a sister, Anne B. Cronin of Gloucester, formerly of Milton, and many nieces and nephews, including Anne Burns of N.Y. She was the sister of the late Mary E. Klein, Elizabeth Jordan, Lawlor F., John F. and William T. Quinlan.
A funeral Mass was celebrated on March 8 at St. Agatha Church. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.

James A. Mearn
James A. Mearn, 85, died on March 21 at his home.
Born in Boston, he attended Boston schools and was a graduate of Dorchester High School.
Mr. Mearn was a construction supply salesman for R.G. Mearn Co., Boston. He retired in 1980 after 40 years.
He was an Army Veteran of World War II. He served in the European African Middle Eastern Theater.
Mr. Mearn was a long-time daily communicant and usher at St. Mary of the Hills Church. He was also a boy scout leader for St. Mary of the Hills when his children were young. He lived in Milton for the past 52 years.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret M. (Hacunda) Mearn of Milton; six sons, Milton Police Chief Kevin Mearn, Milton Police Detective Richard B. Mearn, Willam A. Mearn and Joseph F. Mearn, all of Milton, James J. Mearn of Philadelphia, PA, and Concord Police Officer Gerard P. Mearn of Shirley; two daughters, Patricia M. Reynolds of Milton and Mary J. Hadlock of Maine, 24 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was the brother of the late John, Robert, Joseph and Francis Mearn grandfather of the late Kevin Michael Mearn.
A funeral Mass was held on March 27 at St. Mary of the Hills Church. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.
