John J. Herrity
John J. Herrity, 81, of Quincy, died December 7 at his home following a long illness.
Born in Boston and raised in Jamaica Plain, he lived in Milton for 38 years before moving to Quincy two years ago.
He was a Navy Veteran of World War II and received the Asiatic-Pacific Ribbon with 13 stars and the Phillipine Liberation Ribbon with two stars.
Mr. Herrity was an assessor for the city of Boston for 25 years until his retirement in 1982.
He was a member of McKeon Post Amvets in Dorchester.
He is survived by his wife, Mary T. (Clogan) Herrity; a son, John F. Herrity of Weymouth; a daughter, Maureen Baker of Florida; and two grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was celebrated December 12 at St. Agatha Church. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.

Roland W. Small Jr.
Roland W. Small Jr., 70, of Milton died December 15 at Milton Hospital.
Born in Illinois.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Mary of the Hills Church. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.

Mary E. Ritchie
Mary E. (Meehan) Ritchie, 103, of Dorchester, died December 22 at John Scott House.
Born in Boston, she lived in Dorchester her entire life, recently moving to John Scott House in Braintree.
Mrs. Ritchie was an Air Force clerk at Hanscom Field in Bedford for 20 years before retiring in 1965.
She is survived by two sons, Eugene P. Ritchie of Milton and John W. Ritchie of Marshfield; 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Francis L.M. Ritchie.
A funeral Mass was celebrated December 27 at St. Gregory Church. Burial was in New Calvary Cemetery.

Nora E. Joyce
Nora E. (Loftus) Joyce, 79, of Milton, died December 23 at Milton Hospital.
Raised in South Boston, she moved to Milton 42 years ago. She was a graduate of Gate of Heaven School in South Boston.
Mrs. Joyce worked at Suffolk County Court House, retiring in 1988.
Wife of the late Timothy R. Joyce, she is survived by five daughters, Patricia Carey, Marcia Curran, Jane Staunton, Deborah Manning, and Michelle Tierney, all of Milton; a brother, Patrick Loftus of Arizona; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
A funeral Mass was celebrated December 31 at St. Agatha Church. Burial was in Mount Benedict Cemetery, West Roxbury.

Barbara J. Cote
Barbara J. (Woods) Cote, 41, of Westwood, formerly of Milton, died on December 20 at Woods of Needham; her siblings, Susan and Richard Romanski, Arthur "Bro" Jr. and Debbie Cote, Martha and Craig Winebarger, Moira Woods, Thomas Cote, Catherine and David Forte, and Eric and Charon Woods; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
A funeral Mass was celebrated on December 24 at St. Joseph’s Church, Needham. Burial was private.

Mr. Dever was a troubleman for Boston Edison Co. for 42 years before his retirement in 1994.
He served in the Navy during the Korean War and later in the Army in Germany. He was former shop steward and member of the AFL-CIO Electricians Union Local 369.
Mr. Dever was a state track and field official and a member of Boston Edison Retirees Group, the L Street Running Club and the McKeon Post in Dorchester.
He was born in Lowell, raised and educated in Dorchester and moved to Dedham 44 years ago.
Mr. Dever was a graduate of Dorchester High School for Boys and he attended University of Massachusetts Avenue, Boston, MA 02118.
Anna V. Clark
Anna V. (Walsh) Clark, 78, of Quincy, died December 22 at Boston Medical Center.
Born in Boston, she lived in Dorchester for many years. For the past 42 years she had resided in Quincy.
Mrs. Clark was a manager for John Hancock Insurance. She worked there for 42 years before retiring in 1983.
Wife of the late Thomas J. Clark, she is survived by two sisters, Margaret "Peg" Schultz of Quincy and Catherine Glennon of Hull; a brother, Joseph Walsh of Norton; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass was celebrated December 26 at St. Agatha Church. Burial was in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.

Elizabeth J. Logue
Elizabeth J. (Lewis) Logue, 77, of Milton, died December 27 at Elihu White Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Braintree.
Born in Salem, she lived in Dorchester before moving to Milton. She moved into the Elihu White Nursing Facility four years ago.
Mrs. Logue worked 25 years for the Gillette Company before retiring in 1984.
She was a former member of St. Mark’s 60 Plus Club in Dorchester and of the Castle Island Association in South Boston.
Wife of the late Robert E. Logue, she is survived by two sons, Robert E. Logue Jr. of South Boston and Arthur R. Logue of Dorchester; two daughters, Roberta Messia of Holbrook and Theresa M. Cidlevich of Milton; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
