Nicholas Marsney Sr.
Nicholas V. Marsney Sr., 83, died May 10 at home.
He grew up in South Boston and attended Boston Schools. He lived there until moving to Quincy 22 years ago.
Mr. Marsney was a World War II Army Air Forces veteran, and flew 65 missions in the South Pacific as a member of the 13th Air Force.
He was a retired assistant superintendent of the Boston Water and Sewer Commission. He worked for the commission for more than 40 years, retiring in 1989.
He was a member of the Castle Island Association in South Boston and Cape Canaveral Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a former member of McDonough Post, Veteran of Foreign Wars, South Boston.
He is survived by his wife Bridget E. (Norton) Marsney of Quincy; five daughters, Maria P. Marsney of South Boston, Eileen M. Cuscuna of Malden, Ann Berkeley of Allston and Margaret Marsney and Paula B. Marsney, both of Quincy; two sons, Nicholas V. Marsney Jr. of Weymouth and Peter M. Marsney of Delaware; a brother, Michael Marsney of Quincy; two sisters, Mary Rosengren and Anne Powers, both of Upton; and 12 grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Monica Church, Boston on May 13. Burial was private.

Joseph Leo Curtin
Joseph Leo Curtin, 99, formerly of Milton, died May 7 at Woodland Terrace of Citrus Country Nursing Home, Hernando, Maine.
He was a retired Milton Academy science teacher.
He is survived by by four sons, Ned Cabot Jr. of Oregon; two sisters, Virginia Cabot Wood and Elizabeth Cabot Minot; two brothers, Paul Cabot Jr., and Frederick Cabot; his ex-wife, Susan Cabot, of Portland, Maine.

Donald F. Sweeney Jr.
Donald F. Sweeney Jr., 44, of Milton, died May 10 at home after a battle with cancer.
Mr. Sweeney grew up in Hyde Park and graduated from Boston College High School and Suffolk University. He had lived in Milton for the past 13 years.
He was an umpire and administrator for the Milton American Little League.
He is survived by his wife, Anne M. (Berry) Sweeney; his parents, Donald F. and Marie A. (Giaquinto) Sweeney of Hyde Park; a brother, Joseph B. Sweeney of Bridgewater; a god child, Lily McLaughlin; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Agatha Church on May 14. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.

William H. Powell
William H. Powell, 76, of Milton, died May 14 at Falmouth Hospital.
He was born, raised and educated in Florida; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Elizabeth Church on May 17. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.

Claire M. Curran
Claire M. (Cahill) Curran, 67, of Milton, died June 1 at New England Medical Center Boston.
She was a financial coordinator at New England Medical Center for 15 years before retiring in 1999.
She also worked as a substitute teacher’s aide in the Milton Public Schools before that.
Mrs. Curran was a parishioner at St. Agatha Church, past president and a member of the church’s couple’s club and past treasurer and member of the St. Agatha’s Guild.
She was a member of the Castle Island Association, and the South Boston Women’s Bowling League and Cunningham Women’s Bowling League.
She is survived by her husband, John F. Curran; three sons, John D. Curran of Easton, James M. Curran of Needham and Joseph H. Curran of Milton; two daughters, Mary Claire Curran of Brighton and Barbara A. Moynihan of Parker Hill Avenue, Boston, MA 02120.
John N. Bogdanski
John N. Bogdanski, 76, formerly of Milton, died at the Caritas Norwood Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born in Boston, he had been a resident of Norwood for the last 17 years.
He worked for over 20 years as a warehouseman for Spencer Shoe Company in South Boston. Mr. Bogdanski also served in the U.S. Navy during peace time.
Husband of the late Theresa Bogdanski, he is survived by a sister, Mary Idman of Walpole; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Julie C. Savage.
A funeral Mass was celebrated on June 3 at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Norwood. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.
Ethel P. Crowell
Ethel P. (Blades) Crowell, 92, of Milton, died May 22 at San Antonio Community Hospital in Upland, California, Lucy Walborn of Texas, and Douglas Blades of Canada; three sisters, Bessie Wickett, Olive Davis and Arleine Fetherstone, all of Canada; 19 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home on May 26. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Boston.

Clorindo J. Nazzaro
Clorindo J. (Larry) Nazzaro, 88, a Milton resident for 50 years, died May 29 at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland.
Born in East Boston, he lived most of his life in Milton and moved to Maryland two years ago.
He was an engineer for Connecticut; a brother, Joseph Nazzaro of California; a sister, Olga Giarla of Kansas; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Mary of the Hills Church on June 3. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.
