Helene V. Prall
Helene V. (Mikulskis) Prall, 91, of Milton, died May 26 at Hancock Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Quincy.
Born in Waltham, she lived in Milton for over 70 years.
She earned an associate’s degree at Boston University. She was a secretary at Pierce Middle School for 20 years and also worked for the Registry of Motor Vehicles in Boston.
Mrs. Prall was a member of the Milton Retired Educators Association, Milton Catholic Daughters, Daughters of Isabella, Curry College Seniors and the Milton Senior Citizens Club.
She was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary of the Hills Church.
Wife of the late John E. Prall, she is survived by two daughters, Geraldine Zemis of Andover and Elaine McFadden of Milton; a son, John Prall of North Attleboro; 11 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Mary of the Hills Church on May 31. Burial was in New Calvary Cemetery, Boston.
Funeral arrangements were made by Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home.

Edward Mello
Edward Mello, 75, of Milton, died June 1 at home.
Born in Fall River, he grew up in Cambridge. He graduated from Cambridge Latin High School and from Northeastern University. He lived in Milton for 48 years.
Mr. Mello served in the Navy in World War II.
He worked in the metal foundry business for almost 40 years, retiring in 1990.
He volunteered at the Milton chapter of the American Red Cross and at the destroyer USS Cassin Young at the Charlestown Navy Yard.
Mr. Mello was an active parishioner of St. Elizabeth Church and was a member of St. Elizabeth’s Holy Name Society and taught CCD for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Genevieve G. (Boland) Mello; a son, Edward J. Mello of Iowa; a sister, Alice Upton of Revere; 10 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Nancy M. Lancaster.
Funeral arrangements were made by Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home.

Ruth E. Harte
Ruth E. (Kemp) Harte, 82, of Milton, died May 26 at home.
Born in North Andover, she had lived in Milton for 67 years.
Mrs. Harte worked at Fisher Junior College for three years as secretary to the president before retiring in 1947 to raise her family. She returned years later as assistant placement and admissions director and went on to serve as placement director for 20 years, retiring in 1984.
Mrs. Harte was a graduate of the school and became president of the Fisher Alumni Association. She was instrumental in getting the Vienna Choir Boys to perform at Symphony Hall to raise money and was the first alumni member elected to the Fisher College Hall of Fame.
Mrs. Harte became a church organist after high school and played of a few churches. Her professor at the conservatory was impressed by her and when he took a six month leave, he had her playing Masses at the church.
She took a job at the First Baptist Church as organist and choir director. She put on many recitals, choir concerts and childrens programs. Many years were spent with youth choirs and teaching Sunday school.
Mrs. Harte was organist at Blaney Memorial Baptist Church for over 15 years and worked on getting members to attend the church’s 100th anniversary dinner and program.
Mrs. Harte was a church organist for 20 years and belonged to the American Guild of Organists.
She was a member of the Guy A. Ham Chapter, order of the Eastern Star, and was a founding member of the Milton Woman’s Club Evening Division.
For over 10 years she was treasurer of the East Milton Day Nursery, which was the first in the town for 44 years.
She is survived by her husband, J. Alexander Harte; three sons, Richard A. Harte of Randolph, Robert A. Harte of Dorchester and Dr. David B. Harte of Milton; a daughter, Marilyn R. Harte of Quincy; two brothers, C. Arthur Kemp of New York; and nine grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was celebrated May 30 at First Congregational Church. Burial was private.

Gregory B. Monack
Gregory Burns Monack, 19, a lifelong resident of Milton died June 10 at the Boston University Medical Center, as a result of an automobile accident which occurred on Truman Highway in Hyde Park.
Mr. Monack was born in Boston and graduated with distinction from Noble and Greenough School, class of 2002, in Dedham. He played football, lacrosse, and was the sports editor for the school’s newspaper.
Mr. Monack had just finished his freshman year at Boston College, where he was enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences Honors Program.
He is survived by his parents Donald R. Monack and Susan (Lawrence) Monack; a sister, Julia W. Monack; his grandfather Donald A. Monack of New Hampshire; two daughters, Ann E. Saur of Milton and Barbara J. Ryan of New Hampshire and Doug Woodbury of South Dennis; a daughter, Diane Woodbury of Massachusetts Department of Welfare and Department of Employment and Training, retiring in 1991. She also had been a part-time teacher for seven years at Shiloh House in Mattapan.
Mrs. Stone of Cambridge and Susan Clinton of Newton; two sons, Samuel Stone of North Andover; a sister, Norma Feldberg of Newton; and four grandchildren.
A funeral service was held June 8 at Congregation B’nai Jacob.

William Parsloe
William Mason Parsloe Sr, 76, formerly of Milton, passed away on Sunday, June 8, at a health care facility in Belfast, Maine; three sisters, June Seamens of Quincy, Joyce Maine and Jane Haverty of Canton; two grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on June 11 at the St. Margaret Episcopal Church, Belfast, Maine.
