Marie R. O'Connell
Marie R. (McDonald) O'Connell, 103, died on April 10 at Milton Health Care after a long illness.
Born in Cambridge, Mrs. O'Connell was a resident of Milton for many years.
Wife of the late Philip D. O'Connell Sr., she is survived two sons, Philip D. O'Connell Jr. of Brewster and George R. O'Connell of Milton; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside serivce was held on April 13 at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in North Easton.
Funeral arrangements were made by Dolan Funeral Homes.
Garfield W. Shupe
Garfield William Shupe, 67, died on April 11 at Quincy Medical Center after a long illness.
Mr. Shupe was cared for at home by his family until recently. He had retired from his position at the Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge.
He was a former Post Master for Milton Lodge A.F. and A.M.
Mr. Shute was born in Martin's Point, Nova Scotia.
He is survived by three daughters, Teena M. Frost of Quincy, Sally M. Martin and Robin June Alley of Massachusetts General Hospital.
An elementary school teacher, Mrs. Spellman taught in Waltham and was a former member of the Ace of Clubs.
She was a communicant of Saint Joseph Parish, Quincy. She had lived in Milton and Jamaica Plain.
Born in Boston, she attended area schools and was a graduate of the Newton College of the Sacred Heart, class of 1957.
Wife of the late Paul Spellman, she is survived by a son, Paul B. Spellman of Boston; a daughter, Kathryn Bauer of Weymouth; three brothers, William A. Reilly of Chestnut Hill. Kames A. Reilly of Cohasset and John E. Reilly of Norwell, and two grandchildren.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at Saint Joseph Church, 550 Stone officiating. Family and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be in Old City Cemetery.

William M. Sullivan
William M. Sullivan, 92, died on April 1 at Hancock Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Quincy.
Mr. Sullivan was a retired master electrician and he worked for 50 years in the construction industry before retiring in 1974. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 103.
He lived in Milton for the past 60 yeras and was a longtime parishioner of St. Elizabeth's Church.
Born in Amherst, he was raised in Dorchester and graduated from Charlestown High School.
He spent summers in Belgrade Lakes, Maine and Thomas J. Sullivan of Milton; three daughters, Patricia M. Sullivan and Katherine M. Phillips of Milton and Mary E. Leonard of Marshfield, and nine grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was celebrated on April 5 at St. Elizabeth's Church. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home.

Rosaria Vacca
Rosaria (Guarino) Vacca, formerly of Milton, died on April 11.
During World War II, she was a seamstress for the Cable Raincoat Co. Mrs. Vacca was a member of the Iternational Ladies Garment Union and the Sons of Italy.
She was a resident of Winter Valley for several years and she was very active in the social activities there.
Born in Italy, she came to the United States when she 24. She lived in East Boston and South Boston before moving to Milton in 1962.
Wife of the late Milanio Vacca, she is survived by two sons, William V. Vacca of Milton and Pasquale R. Vacca of Harwichport; a daughter, Dorothy M. Vacca of Waltham; a sister, Lucia Scoppetuolo of Boston; two brothers, Armando Guarino and Alessandro Guarino, both of Boston; eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Elizabeth Church on April 13. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.

Thelma C. Allen
Thelma C. (Ringrose) Allen, 92, died on April 14 at her home.
Born in Freeport, Maine. She had lived in Milton for 65 years.
Wife of the late William P. Allen, she is survived by a nephew, Robert H. Brown of Massachusetts General Hospital.
Mrs. Drohan was a homemaker and past president of the Botolphian Guild at Boston College High School.
She was a member of the Milton Women’s Club and a former member of the Cunningham Bowling League.
Wife of the late Henry Drohan, she is survived by two sons, Thomas Drohan and David Drohan, both of Hingham; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a niece.
A funeral Mass was celebrated January 4 at St. Elizabeth Church. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.
