RANDOLPH - Marjorie L. (Gerard) Charles, 86 years of age, passed away at the home of her daughter Lois Navarro in Plymouth, Monday evening. She was born in Boston and had resided in Dorchester before moving to Randolph a number of years ago. More recently she had been living with her daughter in Plymouth. She was a homemaker devoted to her family and was a member of the auxiliary of the American Legion in Dorchester. She was an avid Bingo player and enjoyed watching bowling on television. She was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Dorchester.

She was the wife of the late Walter L. Charles and the devoted mother of Wallace L. Charles married to Joanne Charles of Plymouth. Lois E. Navarro married to Andrew Navarro of Plymouth and Jan M. Comis married to David A. Comis of Raynham. She is also survived by four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was the grandmother of the late David C. Comis and sister of the late Carl Gerard, Hazel Larson and Arthur Gerard.

A Funeral Service will be held at the Mortimer N. Peck-Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street BRAINTREE Friday at 11:00am. The Reverend Father Michael Goddarz of All Saints Church, Dorchester will officiate. Burial will be at Blue Hill Cemetery Braintree. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 4-8pm at the Funeral Home.

BRAINTREE - Virginia L. (Green) Brosseau- 93 years of age, passed away at the Alliance Health Care Facility in Braintree on Thursday February 19, 2009. She was born in Somerville and graduated from Medford High School. She had resided in Braintree since 1953. She was a retired accountant for the “Boston Globe” newspaper retiring in 1978 after being with the “Boston Globe” for more than 25 years.

She is the wife of the late Joseph A. Brosseau who died in 2007. She is survived by a son Joseph A. Brosseau, Jr. of Rochester Ma who is an editor with “The Patriot Ledger” newspaper. Virginia was the sister of the late William F. Green and the late Bernadette Green.

There will be a gathering at the Mortimer N. Peck – Russell Peck Funeral Home 516 Washington Street Braintree on Wednesday February 25, 2009 at 9:00am with an opportunity for visiting prior to departing for the Church of St. Clare 1244 Liberty Street BRAINTREE HIGHLANDS where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am. Burial will be in the Braintree Cemetery.

Memorial Donations may be sent to the charity of the donor’s choice or to the Visiting Nurse’s Association of the South Shore 100 Baystate Drive, Braintree Ma. 02184

BRAINTREE - Barbara Bridget (DeRosa) WALTON, of Braintree, age sixty-eight, on March 21, 2009 passed way with her family by her side, at the Good Samaritan Hospital, in Brockton. Barbara leaves behind her beloved sister Joan M. DeRosa and her four children, Sharon M. DiPietro and her husband Frank of Tewksbury, Robin A. Walton and her fiancé, Ike Spyridonides of Braintree, Michael J. Walton and fiancé, Eileen Brennan of Weymouth, and Christopher G. Walton, and his wife, Josephine, of Abington. Barbara was the daughter of the late John S. DeRosa and Marie G. (Medeiros) DeRosa, of Braintree. She also leaves 13 beloved grandchildren. Barbara grew up in Cambridge, and lived in Hanover and Quincy, before settling in Braintree. Over the years she developed many friendships that lasted throughout her life. She had many fond memories of the time she spent and enjoyed with her fellow friends in the fifties group, “The Cougars.” She loved the ocean and the New England beaches. She was notably a loyal and diehard fan of the Boston Red Sox, but above all else she loved her family and she will be greatly missed. There will be gathering at the Mortimer N. & Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street, BRAINTREE, on Tuesday, March 24th, at 10:45 A.M. to be followed by a Funeral Mass at the Church of St. Clare 1244 Liberty Street BRAINTREE HIGHLANDS at 12:00 PM Noon. There will be an opportunity for visiting at the funeral home prior to leaving for the church. The burial will be private. BRAINTREE - Joseph Salvatore “Joe” Cedrone, 70 years of age of Braintree died unexpectedly at his home on Thursday April 30, 2009. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth M. “Betty” (Nesbit) Cedrone to whom he had been married to for 48 years. He leaves three devoted children Linda M. Egan of Canterbury, NH., Cheryl A. Sloane of Braintree and James W. Cedrone of Braintree. Joe was the father of the late Joseph A. Cedrone who died in 1983. Joe was the son of the late Biagio and Raffaela “Vi” (Donofrio) Cedrone formerly of Quincy. He is the beloved brother of Ralph Cedrone of Dennis, Biagio Cedrone Jr. of Braintree and Sandra Ahola of Plymouth. He was the brother of the late Anthony Cedrone formerly of Quincy. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Joe was a graduate of Quincy Schools and was an active Communicant at the Sacred Heart Church in Weymouth Landing. He was devoted to his family and to his Catholic Faith. He retired from the Atlas Alarm Corporation in Weymouth where he had been employed for 41 years as an operations manager.

There will be a gathering at the Mortimer N. Peck- Russell Peck Funeral Home 870 Broad Street (opposite the US Post Office in Jackson Square) EAST WEYMOUTH on Monday May 4, 2009 at 8:30am. Funeral Mass in the Sacred Heart Church, Washington Street WEYMOUTH LANDING at 9:30am. Relatives and Friends invited. Visiting hours Sunday from 4:00-8:00pm at the EAST WEYMOUTH Peck Funeral Home.

Leona M. (Antonelli) Dinova “Lee” wife of James R. Dinova “Jim Did It”, entered into paradise with her parents Leo Antonelli, a Quincy Detective Sergeant and Helen (Parker) Antonelli after an illness of several months. Leona was born in Quincy and resided in Weymouth for 35 years before moving to Largo Florida, three years ago.
She was an avid baseball fan. Among her interest were traveling with friends, shopping, exploring new foods and crossword puzzles. Most of all she enjoyed spending quality time, loving her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her devoted children; William “B.J.” Silva, Lynnel Cox and her husband Brian Cox, Kimberlee Silva and a step son James R. Dinova, Jr., four grandchildren; Ashlee Silva, Shayne Stilphen, Barbara and Sarah, a brother Leo Antonelli, Jr. and her dear friend Abigail Mina. She is also survived by many cousins, friends and neighbors. Her loving memory will be remembered by all who knew her. Visiting hours will be from the Mortimer N. Peck-Russell Peck Funeral home 870 Broad Street (Across from the U.S. Post Office in Jackson Square) on Wednesday from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. There will be a gathering at the Funeral Home on Thursday at 9:30 A.M. to be followed by a Graveside Catholic Prayer Service at Fairmount Cemetery in East Weymouth at 10:30 A.M. June C. Bentley, age 95, died peacefully at the Holy Cross Hospital in Taos, New Mexico, on October 16, 2009. She was the beloved wife of 72 years of George W. Bentley, who survives her. Born in Boston on June 11, 1914 she was the youngest of seven daughters born to Thomas and Clara (Noseworthy) Clough. Mrs. Bentley made her home in the Braintree Highlands for more than 40 years, having previously lived in West Quincy for over 25 years. The Bentleys recently moved to Taos to be with their eldest duaghter. She was a dedicated homemaker who loved to bake and decorate cakes for special occasions, including her son's wedding cake. An avid Red Sox fan she was excited to have lived long enough to seen them win the World Series. A longtime Rebekah Lodge member, she belonged to the Radiant Star Lodge in Dorchester for over 75 years. Mrs. Bentley served in many offices of the Lodge including secretary, Past Nobly Grand and Past member of the Rebekah Assembly. One of the highlights of her service was participating in the decoration of the National Rebekah Lodge's float in the Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena. A lifelong Episcopalian she attended St. Michael's Church in Milton and Emmanuel Church in Braintree where she served on the Altar Guild and was an active member of St. Mary's Guild. In addition to her husband, George she is survived by children Carol Larimore of Taos, New Mexico, Richard C. Bentley of Indio, California, and Janet E. Slagsvold of Phoenix Arizona, grandchildren Barbara West of Weymouth, MA and Wendy Ramsey and Mark Collier of Phoenix, Arizona and Carolyn Clark, Steven Bentley and Eric Bentley of California and great-grandchildren Sarah, Brianna, Hannah, Elsie and Keelan. Her funeral of which family and friends are invited will be held on October 23, 2009 at 1:00PM at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church 519 Washington Street, Braintree, MA with the Father Robert Edison officiating. Internment will follow at the Milton Cemetery. Arrangements by the Peck Funeral Homes of Braintree and Weymouth.

Braintree – Mildred Cecilia (Glass) Cotton, 87 years of age, of Braintree entered Life Eternal at the South Shore Hospital on Monday, May 17th, 2010. She was born in Quincy August 6, 1922 the daughter of the late Wallace Glass and Mildred Cecilia (Gibson) Glass. Mrs. Cotton had been a bookkeeper for multiple firms over the years. She was an active member of the South Congregational Church, South Braintree and was formerly an active member of the First Congregational Church in Braintree where she belonged to the Co-Workers and Sodalitas organizations. Mrs. Cotton was a member of the Braintree Historical Society and participated in the school program for the Historical Society at the Thayer House. She was a Past President of the Visiting Nurse Association of the South Shore, a Past President of the Friends of the South Shore Hospital, a member of the Board of Directors of the South Shore Hospital Foundation and a Past President of the Junior Philergians organization in Braintree. Mrs. Cotton was an active member of the Braintree Chapter No. 167 Order of Eastern Star. She also belonged to a national organization named simply P.E.O. which provides scholarships. She is the beloved wife of the late Laurie Preble Cotton who died in 1987. She is the devoted mother of Jane DiFiore married to Ralph DiFiore of Beauford, N.C., Virginia Abbott married to Kenneth Abbott of Braintree, John Cotton married to Mary Cotton of Kensington, Maryland and William Cotton married to Kathleen Cotton of Abington. She is the loving grandmother of Kristin, Melissa, Peter, Jennifer, Matthew, Margaret and Elizabeth. She is the great grandmother of Hannah. Mildred is survived by her brother Robert Glass married to Doris Glass of Murrells Inlet, S.C. Visiting hours will be at the Mortimer N. Peck – Russell Peck Funeral Home 516 Washington St., BRAINTREE on Friday, May 21st from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Marstons Mills – Richard Irving Blanchard 82 years of age entered Life Eternal on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at the home of his daughter Karen L. Blanchard in Norwell. He was born in Boston and was raised in Weymouth. He was the son of the late Kenneth Newt, Harry Blanchard and Carolyn (Ackerman) Blanchard. He served in the U S. Army during the Korean conflict and in the United States Coast Guard during W.W.II. During the Korean conflict he received the Bronze Service Star and Medal for Bravery as well as the Korean Service Medal, the Combat Infantry Badge and the United Nations Service Medal among others. He was an electrician for Local 103 in Boston. He had resided in Marstons Mills for twenty years and was formerly of both Weymouth and Braintree. Richard was a member of Christ Chapel of Cape Cod. He was the husband of the late Nancy Jane (Whittall) Blanchard. He is survived by his son Dana Blanchard married to Joan Blanchard of Weymouth and his daughters Donna Jean Marotta married to John Marotta of Brockton and Karen L. Blanchard and her significant other Douglas Edwards of Norwell. He was the father of the late Richard Alexander Blanchard. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Richard is survived by a sister Carol Ann Winn of Arizona and by a brother Herbert Blanchard of the State of Washington. Visiting hours will be at the Mortimer N. Peck – Russell Peck Funeral Home 516 Washington Street, BRAINTREE on Thursday, May 27th from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. A Memorial Service will be held at Christ Chapel of Cape Cod 1200 Old Stage Road, Centerville on the following Thursday, June 3rd at 10:00 A.M. to be followed by a collation and then burial at the Old North Cemetery, North Weymouth at 2:30 P.M.
