Norma M. Chaisson, of Cohasset, 71 years of age, passed away at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Brighton on June 18, 2010 ending a lifelong battle with lung diseases. She had been a longtime resident of Cohasset before moving to Arlington. She was predeceased by her parents Rene and Margaret (Shomp) Chiasson and her sister Rachelle McIntyre. Norma is survived by her sisters Wilfredine married to Richard Lesperance of Florida, Emily married to Lee Casedy of Colorado, Maureen married to Jim Holland of Marshfield and Theresa Chaisson of Braintree. She is also survived by three nieces and three nephews and their children. Memorial services will be celebrated at yet to be determined dates in Cohasset, Martha’s Vineyard and Puerto Rico, three of her favorite places on earth. Plympton – Elaine W. (Duquet) Brodie, 86 years of age entered Life Eternal at the Wingate at Silver Lake Nursing Facility in Kingston on Sunday, September 20, 2010. She was born in Boston and had been a resident of Braintree on Jersey Avenue for many years before moving to Plympton. She was a homemaker devoted to her family. She had been a member of the South Congregational Church, South Braintree and the Braintree Chapter of Eastern Star. She had also been active with the LST Association which is a Navy affiliation. She was the wife of the late David R. Brodie. She is the loving mother of Marsha E. MacFarlane of Plympton, David E. Brodie of Abington, John Brodie of Quincy and Kenneth A. Brodie of East Bridgewater. She is the sister of Attorney Robert Duquet of Norwell, Richard Duquet of California, Kenneth Duquet of Florida and New Hampshire, Donald Duquet of Florida and Edith York of Allston. She was the sister of the late Asa Duquet. She is survived by eleven grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held at the Mortimer N. Plymouth – Olive Porter (Fitzsimmons) Drollett, 93 years of age, entered Life Eternal at her home in Plymouth peacefully on Saturday, September 18, 2010 surrounded by her loving and caring family members. She was born in Braintree and resided in Braintree for fifty-four years before moving to Wareham where she resided from 1970 to 2005 them moving to Plymouth. While residing in Wareham she was an Assistant Clerk at the Wareham District Court for twenty years. In earlier years she worked at the Spencer Shoe Company in Boston and also was employed by the Chapman Manufacturing Company both in Braintree and Avon. Olive was an avid sports fan who loved the Celtics and the Red Sox. While residing in Wareham she was active in the Senior Center in Warheam. She loved bingo. She was a graduate of Braintree High School. She was the wife of the late Albert A. Drollett who died in 1972. She is the devoted mother of Albert A. Drollett married to Betty Drollett of Carver, Olive O. Nicolas married to William Nicolas of Bridgewater, Frank P. Drollett married to Priscilla Drollett of Plymouth with whom she made her home, James R. Drollett married to Pamela Drollett of Wareham and Paul L. Drollett of Wareham. She is the loving sister of Evelyn Barter of Arlington and Corinne Hokenson of Quincy. She was the sister of the late Priscilla Waldron of Wareham, James Fitzsimmons, Mae Blute, Cecilia Louder and Ann Casland. She is survived by seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Saint Francis of Assisi Church, 856 Washington Street, South Braintree Square on Wednesday, September 22nd at 10:30 A.M. Braintree - John J. Coleman, Jr. 90 years of age entered Life Eternal on Tuesday October 19, 2010 while bowling with the St. Clare bowling league at the Union Street Lanes in Holbrook. John was born in Brighton. He was a 1937 graduate of the St. Columbkille High School, Brighton. He served during WWII in the US Army Air Corps. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a supervisor at the Boston Naval Shipyard. He was a Progressman for the historic USS Constitution at the Charlestown Navy Yard. He was a Founding Member of the Church of St. Clare in Braintree where he was also a member of the St. Clare Bowling league for the past 50 years. He was also a member of the Holy Name Society at St. Clare’s and a member of the Braintree Knights of Columbus Council # 1462. He enjoyed golfing with his friends at the Braintree Golf Club. John was a long time Braintree resident. John was the loving husband of the late Jane Veronica (Kelly) Coleman who died in October of 2004. He is the devoted father of Dr. John J. Coleman, M.D. married to Janice Coleman of Indianapolis, Indiana, Jill V. Herget married to Thomas Herget of Braintree, Lee Coleman-Shea married to Michael Shea of Hanover and Peter Coleman married to Paula Coleman of Quincy. He is the proud grandfather of fourteen and great-grandfather of eight. John is also survived by three sisters Elsie Cronin of Arlington, May “Sis” Maye of Andover, MA, Catherine “Rena” Coleman of Andover, MA and a brother Paul Coleman of Braintree. There will be a gathering at the Mortimer N. Peck-Russell Peck Funeral Home 516 Washington Street BRAINTREE on Saturday October 23, 2010 at 9:00am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of St. Clare 1244 Liberty Street, Braintree Highlands at 10:00am. Hingham - Beverly G. (Jones) Smith 88 years of age of Linden Ponds, Hingham formerly of Weymouth passed away at the South Shore Hospital on Thursday, October 28, 2010. She was born in Holbrook and moved to Weymouth. She graduated from the Weymouth High School Class of 1939. She was the beloved wife of Lloyd V. Smith, founder of Smith Print. She is the devoted mother of three sons: Leonard F. Smith married to Linda Smith of Hanover, Donald L. Smith married to Pauline Smith of East Weymouth and Peter A. Smith married to Kristen Smith of Kingston. She was the mother of the late Karen A. Garrity formerly of Hingham. Beverly is survived by two sisters: Priscilla A. Annis and Mary L. Christensen both of Florida. She was the sister of the late David L. Jones formerly of Holbrook. She is the loving grandmother of fourteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Beverly enjoyed walking and collecting shells on the beach at Marco Island, Florida. She was an avid Patriots and Red Sox Fan and enjoyed watching all of their games on television. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, counted cross stitch and playing cards. In accordance with her written instructions Beverly wish to state a special goodbye to her card club friend. Rockland- Arlene F. (Dwyer) Barba, 74 of Rockland and formally of Braintree and Quincy, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, November 20, 2010. Beloved wife of 52 years of Michael A. Barba Jr., she was the Mother of Michael A. Barba III, and his wife Ann of Scituate, Kimberly Barba Canney and her husband Paul of Cohasset and Alica Barba Rawson and her husbank Michael of Cohasset. She is also survived by her devoted Grandchildren, Michael, Christopher and Amanda Barba, Julia and Evan Canney and Hannah, Sarah, Camerin and Cole Rawson. Mrs. Barba was the daughter of the late John and Vera Dwyer and the sister of the late Doris Dillon, John (Jackie) and Michael Dwyer. She is survived by her brother Edward Dwyer and his wife Pat of Quincy. Mrs. Barba was the graduate of Quincy High school, class of 1953 and of the Whidden Memorial School of Nursing in Everett. She was a Registered Nurse and worked for over 20 years as a school nurse at Archbishop Williams High School and Braintree High School. Mrs. Barba will be remembered forever as a caring wife, mother and grandmother. Her quick wit and sense of humor was appreciated by her many friends and patients. Braintree – Olive Jane (Holbrook) Muello, 78 years of age passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at her home. She was born in Braintree and graduated from Braintree High School with the class of 1950. She was a very spiritual lady and was the kind and gentle center of her family. She was an avid swimmer and a member of the Sheridan Tara Health Club. She also belonged to a bowling league at Olindy’s in Quincy. She loved politics and news reports. She enjoyed the Boston Red Sox and the Revolution Soccer. In earlier years she was employed at the Jordan Marsh Company, Brigham’s Restaurant and Filene’s Store all at South Shore Plaza. Olive enjoyed the ocean and her travels to Florida and Bermuda. She always enjoyed eating out at various restaurants. She is the beloved wife of William Anthony Muello, Jr. to whom she had been married for 56 years. She is the devoted mother of her six children: Gary W. Muello of Brockton, Twins Kenneth Lee Muello of Everett who is the husband of the late Catherine Marie Muello, Mary Jane Muello partner of Mary Del Sordo of Middleboro, Linda Marie Muello-Jarvela married to John Jarvela of New Ipswich, N.H., Brian R. Muello of Braintree boyfriend of Nancy King and family of Quincy and Carol A. Golden married to Jay Golden of Bridgewater. She is the loving grandmother of Kimberly Slade, Alexea Muello, J Michael Jarvela, J Scott Jarvela, Rebecca Golden, Rachel Golden and Jake Golden. She was the grandmother of the late J Christopher Jarvela. Olive is survived by her sister Ruth Drake of Wethersfield, CT. She was the sister of the late Marjorie Holm and Gordon F. Holbrook of Braintree. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Olive was born at the Holbrook Avenue Home of her parents Lowell S. Holbrook and Viola (Wood) Holbrook on May 26, 1932. Braintree – Emma Priscilla (Ells) Vinton of Braintree, 97 years of age, entered Life Eternal at the Weymouth Health Care Center on Tuesday, February 1, 2011. She was born in Weymouth and was a graduate of Weymouth High School and attended Bentley School of Accounting in Boston. She was a well known South Shore banker who began her career while in High School at the South Weymouth Savings Bank. For twenty seven years prior to her retirement she was the Assistant Treasurer of the South Shore Co-operative Bank in Weymouth. In earlier years she was a member of the Rainbow Girls Chapter 19 in Weymouth and a member of the Weymouth Grange. For a number of years she was a member of the Church of the Holy Nativity (Episcopal) in South Weymouth. As a parent she was active with the Braintree Drum and Bugle Corps. She was proficient at embroidery and crocheting. Emma was born on October 23, 1913 to Louis H. Ells and Eva A. (Beltring) Ells. She is the beloved mother of Robert E. Vinton married to Jean E. (Tirrell) Vinton of Braintree and Ronald A. Vinton of Braintree. She is the loving grandmother of Lori Jean Jarzyniecki of Braintree and Cheryl V. Fithian married to Bruce Fithian of Braintree. She is also survived by four great grandchildren: James Jarzyniecki, Alysse C. Jarzyniecki, Caleb R. Fithian and Nathan B. Fithian all of Braintree. She was the sister of the late Frederick Ells formerly of Weymouth. A celebration of her life will be held at the Old South Union Congregational Church, Columbian Street, South Weymouth at a later date which will be announced in the future.
