She was a graduate of Braintree High School. Before her retirement she was a supervisor for the Telephone Company at their offices in Weymouth and Quincy. She was active in the Telephone Workers Union as a steward. Mary was a bee keeper and maintained bee hives. She is the beloved wife of Walter I. Diotte. She is the loving mother of Catherine Diotte of Quincy, John Diotte of Carver; Dennis Diotte married to Leslie Diotte of Pembroke, Francis Diotte of Quincy and Alexander Diotte of Ipswich. She is also survived by many grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was sister of the late Alice McGee Larson. Visiting hours will be held at the Mortimer N. Peck|Russell Peck Funeral Home, 5l6 Washington St., BRAINTREE on Saturday, February l3 from 4 to 7:30 p.m., followed by a Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. The Reverend Father Thomas Mulvey of Emmanuel Parish, Braintree will officiate. Quincy - Madelyn Theresa (Mischler) Baldassini, 81 years of age, entered Eternal Life at her home in the loving arms of her husband Philip on Saturday, March l3, 2010 after a long illness. She was born in Braintree and graduated from Braintree High School. She resided in Quincy for twenty years and was formerly of Braintree and Brockton. She was a retired employee of “The Boston Globe” where she had worked in the classified advertising department for twenty three years. Madelyn was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Braintree Veterans of Foreign Wars Chapter 1702. She sang professionally at the Hollow Restaurant in Quincy and for private parties. She also sang for the USO during W.W.II. Madelyn bowled for “The Boston Globe” bowling league. She especially liked her work at the “Globe”. She was a communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in West Quincy and was a member of the Town Brook House Association. Madelyn is survived by her beloved husband Philip A. Baldassini. She is the loving Mother of Kathryn A. Dunlap married to Charles Dunlap of Effingham, N.H., Francis Belcastro of Weymouth, Virginia Rennie married to Russell Rennie of Weymouth and Robert M. Belcastro married to Susan Belcastro of Weymouth. She was the Mother of the late Donna Belcastro McDonald formerly of Weymouth and Nicodemo A. Belcastro formerly of Brockton. She was the step-mother of Philip Baldassini married to Denise Baldassini of Braintree, Richard Baldassini of Quincy, Barbara Kasanoff married to Leonard Kasanoff of Quincy and Patricia Szymanik married to Peter Szymanik of Seminole, FL. She is the loving sister of Helen Mischler Sampson of Braintree Highlands. She was the sister of the late Irene M. Mischler and Muriel Ann (Mischler) Rinaldi. She is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren. Kingston – Lilly Elisabeth (Nordstrom) (Nelson) Gustafson , 91 years of age of Kingston formerly of Quincy, Braintree and Hingham entered Life Eternal at Wingate at Silver Lake Nursing Facility on Monday, May 17th, 2010. She was born in Boston September 2, 1918 the daughter of the late Victor Nordstrom and Amanda (Backman) Nordstom. She was a graduate of the Dorchester High School for Girls. She was initially a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Dorchester. After moving from Quincy to Braintree in 1955 she lived in Braintree for 42 years before moving to Hingham and then to Kingston. In Braintree she was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church in Braintree Highlands where she belonged to the Women’s Club and participated in the Church Fairs. While residing in Hingham she became a member of the House of Prayer Lutheran Church. She was the wife of the late Edward S. Nelson and the late Carl Gustafson. She is the loving mother of Paul R. Nelson married to Paula J. Nelson of Braintree, Alan E. Nelson married to Janet L. Nelson of Franklin, MA. and Janet T. Troy married to Paul D. Troy of Kingston. Mrs. Gustafson is the step-mother of Donald Gustafson of Weymouth and Robert Gustafson married to Vivian Gustafson of Woburn. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Visiting hours will be at the Mortimer N. She was the mother of the late Joseph Coady who died at the age of five. She is the loving mother-in-law of Richard Wright, Geri Coady, David Morrissey, Daniel Damigella, Kara Coady, and James Horton. She is also survived by twenty grandchildren and by a great granddaughter. Mary was the former wife of the late Joseph Patrick Coady. She was the sister of the late Anthony J. She was known as a very outgoing person and a “community person” who enjoyed visiting with her neighbors and other acquaintances. She enjoyed playing bingo. Lillian was the beloved wife of the late Edward Michael White and fiancé of the late Clay Smith who passed away recently. She is the devoted Mother of Sean Patrick Stevens of Braintree, Edward Joseph White married to Jennifer White of Beverly, Siobhan Irene White of Braintree and Scott Michael White of Braintree. She is the loving sister of Margaret “Peggy” Hannon of Weymouth, Eleanor-Ann Stevens of Quincy, Barbara Botteri of Quincy, George Stevens of West Yarmouth, Dolores Stevens of Chino, California and her twin brother Paul Donald Stevens of Whitman. Weymouth – Ruth E. (Scioscia) Newcomb known to many as “Auntie”, 80 years of age entered Life Eternal at the South Shore Hospital after being stricken at her home. Although she was suffering from cancer her death was unexpected. She was born in Weymouth October 16, 1929 the daughter of the late Eugene M. Scioscia and Lena M. (Freday) Scioscia. She graduated from Weymouth High School with the Class of 1948. Ruth was a homemaker devoted to her family. She was a kind person with a pleasant disposition. As an outgoing person she was willing to help others when assistance was needed. Ruth was the beloved wife of the late Irving Alfred “Tut” Newcomb who died in 1998. She is survived by two sisters: Dorothy Ruley wife of the late Robert Ruley of Weymouth and Millie Williams wife of the late Richard Williams of Weymouth. She was the sister of the late Arthur Scioscia, Eugene Scioscia, Clarence Scioscia, and Virginia Newcomb. She is the beloved “Mother” of Lori Dolan married to John Dolan of Taunton and Edward A. Newcomb, II married to Kayleen Newcomb of Brockton. Ruth was the loving “Grandmother” of Daniel and Andrew Dolan both of Taunton and P.F.C. Edward A. Newcomb III and Matthew Newcomb both of Brockton. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be at the Mortimer N. Quincy – Eleanor S. (Strout) Caron, 96 years of age, entered Eternal Life at the Rice Eventide Home, Adams Street, Quincy on June 3, 2010. She was born in Beverly and was raised in Wollaston. She graduated from Quincy High School and Burdett College, Boston. She moved to Braintree in the 1960’s and resided there until she moved back to Quincy. Mrs. Caron was a lifelong member of The First Baptist Church of Wollaston and of the Church’s Marston Class. For many years she was the Church Secretary for the First Baptist Church of Wollaston which in earlier years was known as the Wollaston Baptist Church. She had also been Church Secretary for the First Presbyterian Church, Franklin Street, Quincy. She was the beloved wife of the late Norman Louis Caron who died in 1997. She is the devoted Mother of Norma C. Whitmore married to Leonard Whitmore of Intervale, N.H. and Lucy C. Barone wife of the late Joseph S. Barone of Rockland. She is the loving grandmother of Suzanne Brady and Joanne Smigliani both of Hanover and Jennifer Mason and Cary Whitmore both of East Bridgewater. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren. A Funeral Service to which relatives and close friends are invited will be held at the Mortimer N. Peck – Russell Peck Funeral Home 516 Washington Street, BRAINTREE on Monday, June l4th at 10:30 A.M. She was the mother of the late Judith Vaneau formerly of Hanson and the late Jeannie Nickerson formerly of Boston. Sarah is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. In earlier years, she was employed at the Braintree Town Hall in the area of financial administration. She retired twenty-five years ago and devoted her time to her family. Lorraine had been a member of the Braintree Women’s Club and enjoyed crocheting. She is the beloved wife of Michael A. Doheny, Founder of Braintree Youth Soccer, in which he is still active. She is the devoted and loving Mother of Sean M. Doheny of Braintree. Lorraine is the loving sister of Barbara A. Bush of Pittsburgh, PA. and Judith P. Weatherby of Concord, N.H. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. There will be a gathering at the Mortimer N. Peck – Russell Peck Funeral Home 516 Washington St., Braintree on Saturday, November 6th at 9:00 A.M. to be followed by a Funeral Mass in the Church of Saint Clare, 1244 Liberty Street, Braintree Highlands at 10:00 A.M. She loved to travel and had traveled to Florida, Hawaii, Alaska, the Caribbean, England and other places in Europe. She was active with the Sir Thomas More Drum and Bugle Corps for seven years. She had been a leader for the Camp Fire Girls. Sandra loved ceramics, bowling and playing cards. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sandra is the beloved wife of Robert M. Mezoff. She is the loving mother of Merry L. Casey married to Mark S. Casey of Raynham, Debra J. Sullivan married to Daniel Sullivan of Abington, Suzanne M. DiPiero married to Vincent DiPiero of Merrimack, N.H. and Scott A. Mezoff of Springfield. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
