At the time that he entered military service in 1942, he rode horseback on the Paul Revere route and it was noted that once again Paul Revere was serving his country. Over the years on every Patriot's Day he would ride the route of his famous ancestor Paul Revere, but now in his milk truck or in other vehicles. During those same years he would place lanterns in the Old North Church as the original Paul Revere had done over 200 years ago announcing that ''The British are coming.'' He was a participant in the dedication of the Paul Revere Mall outside of the Old North Church. His birthday was April 19, 1917, which every year is our Patriot's Day. During such time this Paul Revere descendent participated in local events as well as in the role of his famous ancestor.

He was also a member of Merry Mates at the Church. He was a graduate of Braintree High School and subsequently attended Northeastern University.

He was a decorated Army Veteran of W.W.II with the 338th Field Artillery in the heaviest fighting near the Arno River in Italy. He was a Sargeant with the Headquarters Battery of the 338th Field Artillery Batillion. He recieved a special Citation for heroic achievement in action from January 1, 1944 to December 31, 1944 in Italy. He also participated in the attack on Rome freeing it from the Germans by Volterra all the way to the Arno River and breaking through the Gothic Line. General Paul W. Kendall, Major General of the U.S. Army, stated that Paul Revere's ''actions have been exemplary of the finest traditions of the military service and were a great inspiration to his associates.'' Paul received campaign medals with four bronze stars. His other service included Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, the North Apennines and Po Valley. On many occasions he was subjected to heavy enemy fire but it was stated that he ''never failed to accommplish his mission regardless of the personal danger to his life.''
