Irene D. McArthur
Irene D. (Chagnot) McArthur, 69, of Plymouth, formerly of Cohasset and Milton, died on May 12 at Jordan Hospital in Plymouth.
Born in Quincy, she attended Milton schools and the Woodward School for Girls in Quincy. She was a lab technician for the Quincy Medical Laboratory in Quincy.
Former wife of the late Robert McArthur, she is survived by two sisters, Muriel L. Watson of Plymouth and Dorothy K. Bush of Milton; a brother, Henry F. Chagnot of Minerva, Michigan State University in 1966 and her masters in education from Lesley College in 1991.
She began her teaching career in the Duxbury schools. After a year there, she began a 35-year career in the Milton schools. Her first 25 years were spent as a fourth grade teacher at Glover School. She introduced programs in science and math which later received national acclaim. One award, the National Consortium for Educational Excellence from Vanderbilt University was for her innovative Chicken Hatching Unit which later was copied by elementary schools throughout the United States. In 1989 and 1990, she received the Patriot Ledger Golden Apple award for Excellence in Teaching.
In 1992 she became the school system's Elementary Math, Science and Computer coordinator and was responsible for curriculum from Kindergarten to Grade 5.
Ms. Haines was an active member of many teaching organizations including BAMS, PALMS and Delta Kappa Gamma, an honorary teaching sorority which she served as treasurer for eight years. She was involved in many activities and committees within the school system and was co-developer of Glover School Sports Night.
She is survived by her stepmother, Betty M. Haines of Ft. Myers, FL, two sisters, Lee H. Radsch of Summit, NJ, and Jamie Haines Tuck of Duxbury, a stepsister, Jodie Smith of Ft. Myers, FL, a nephew and four neices.

Eileen M. Koroshetz
Eileen M. (Scanlon) Koroshetz, 80, died on May 8 at Milton Health Care Facility.
Mrs. Koroshetz was a retired elementary school teacher for the N.Y. She received a bachelor's degree and master's degree from Hunter College in New York City Teacher's Union.
Wife of the late Walter T. Koroshetz, she is survived by two sons, Dr. Walter J. Koroshetz of Milton and Robert T. Koroshetz of Norwalk, CT; a daughter, Dr. Eileen F. Hennrikus of Fresno, CA; two brothers, George Scanlon of New York, and 12 grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Agatha Church on May 13. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery, Brooklyn.

Donations my be sent to the Massachusetts Building Congress where he served as director and President of the Congress in 1966. He was the president of the Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute for three terms and was a member of the Engineers Club of Boston for nearly 25 years during which time he served on its Board of Governors.
Mr. Lane was also involved with the Construction Industries of Massachusetts and served as director for both.
He had also served as a member of the Board of Directors of Milton Hospital for seven years and on the Hospital's Building Committee. He served as Treasurer of the Building Committee responsible for the construction of Milton Police Headquarters. He was also a member of the Board of Appeals for nine years.
He is survived by his wife, Doris (Shannon) Lane of Milton; three sons, Joseph Lane Jr. of Milton, Peter F. Lane of Beverly and Edward M. Lane of Hopkinton; two brothers, Gerard R. Lane of Walpole and John E. Lane of Bryantville; a sister, Mary V. White of Walpole; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer E. Lane, Elizabeth J. Lane, Ellen S. Lane, Sarah M. Lane, Kathryn E. Lane, Andrew J. Lane, Timothy J. Lane, Lauren E. Chow, David J. Chow and Sarah V. Chow, and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Elizabeth Church on May 16. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.

Diana B. Anderson
Diana B. Anderson, 84, died on May 11 at Villa Crest Nursing Home in Manchester, N.H.
Mrs. Anderson worked at Jordan Marsh in Boston for 11 years, on transistors at Raytheon in Newton and later worked at Diane's Bakery and as a cashier at Stella's Restaurant in Milton.
Wife of the late Alfons B. Anderson, she is survived by two daughters, Diana Perry of Stoughton and Maureen Van Aken of Wareham; a son, Robert J. Anderson of Stoughton, and five grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Agatha Church on May 17. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.

Peggy M. McCartin
Peggy M. (Courtney) McCartin, 78, died on May 13 at Carney Hospital, Dorchester.
Mrs. McCartin taught at the Paul A. Dever School, Dorchester and St. Augustine's Elementary Title I Program, South Boston, for 20 years before her retirement in 1990. She was a member of the Boston Teachers Union.
Born in Boston, she was raised in Dorchester and attended St. Mark's Elementary School. She was a 1942 graduate of Girls Latin School, a 1946 graduate of Emmanuel College and a graduate of Boston College, where she received a graduate degree in education.
She lived in Milton for the 30 years and was a longtime parishioner of St. Agatha's Church.
Wife of the late Joseph H. McCartin, she is survived by three sons, Hank McCartin of Providence, R.I., Michael McCartin of Milton and Patrick McCartin of Weymouth; three daughters, Kate Murphy and Sally Rush, both of Milton, and Michelle McKeen of Quincy; three sisters, Bunny Hixon, Jean McGinnis and Nancy Donovan, all of Quincy, and six grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Agatha Church on May 15. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.

David T. Signori
David T. Signori, 85, of Milford, died on May 11 at Milford Whitinsville Regional Hospital.
Mr. Signori was a Boston Police Officer before his retirement in 1981 after 34 years on the force.
When he was younger he played semi-professional football for the Mattapan Merchants.
An Army veteran of World War II, he was a platoon sergeant and served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater.
Mr. Signori was raised in Mattapan and lived in Dorchester for many years before moving to Milford five years ago.
He was a commander of the Boston Police Post, American Legion, a life member of the Boston Police Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a member of the Boston Police Patrolman's Association, the Boston Police Relief Association, the Italian American Police Officers and the Marconi Club in Roxbury.
Mr. Signori is survived by his wife, Rose M. (Tosi) Signori of Milford; a son, David T. Signori Jr. of Alexandria, VA; a daughter, Dianne T. Regan of Milford; two brothers, Joseph Signori of Canton and Eugene Signori of Easton; three sisters, Sister Mary Angela Signori of Jamaica Plain, Anna Galante of Readville and Carmela Kerrigan of Dedham, five grandchildren and a great-grandson.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Angela's Church, Mattapan. Burial was in New Calvary Cemetery, Mattapan.

Stasia Harris
Stasia (Andrews) Harris, 84, died on May 16 at Milton Hospital.
Mrs.Harris was born in Boston and raised in Dorchester. She graduated from Boston City Hospital School of Nursing in 1939. She worked at Boston City Hospital and was a member of Boston City Hospital Nurses Association.
In 1959, she and her late husband, Robert G. Harris, founded Rent-All of Boston on River Street in Mattapan.
She lived in Milton for 56 years.
Mrs. Harris is survived by seven sons, Robert G. Harris of St. Croix, Paul T. Harris of Milton, David F. Harris of Hingham, Peter J. Harris of Scituate, Philip H. Harris of Boston, Jonathan J. Harris of Avon and Stephen F. Harris of Pembroke; two daughters, Miriam P. Harris and Nancy J. Harris, both of Milton; two sisters, Stephanie O'Neil of Milton and Blanche Smith of Randolph; 14 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was celebrated on May 20 at St. Mary of the Hills Church. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.

Alice W. Kast
Alice W. (Harlow) Kast, 86, died on April 9 at the John Scott Nursing in Braintree.
Born in Boston, she graduated from Milton High School and lived in Milton for 30 years before moving to Randolph and then to Braintree in 1997.
Mrs. Kast was an active member of the First Baptist Church in East Milton where she belonged to many committees and groups. She was a homemaker.
Wife of the late Frederick C. Kast, she is survived by two sons, Frederick C. Kast Jr. of Milton and Rev. Charles G. Kast of Chapel Hill, N.C.; three daughters, Alice K. Kast of Boston, Ruth E. Blenkhorn of Richmond, VA and Maryann Chapman of Fitchburg; a sister, Ruth E. Brown of Brentwood, Florida; two sisters, Stephanie Lombardo and Helen White of Milton; and three granddaughters.
A funeral Mass was celebrated on May 21 at St. Elizabeth Church. Burial was in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
