Roselyn W. Lashua

HUBBARDSTON - Roselyn W. (Norton) Lashua, 81, of 3 Old Princeton Rd., died Saturday morning, Nov. 8, 2003 in the Heywood Hospital, Gardner.
She was born in Palmer, on Sept. 7,1922, the oldest of five children, of Harry and Laura (Wetherell) Norton and had been a resident of Hubbardston since 1997.
Mrs. Lashua worked for 15 years as an inspector at the former Bercon Company in Ohio, Sylvia Sandgren of Long Island, Georgia, Ronald Sandgren of Antioch, Tenn., and Mary Alice Davis of Spencer; four stepchildren, Gilbert E. "Sonny" Lashua, Jr. of Templeton, Robert L. Lashua of Ashburnham, Susan A. Smith of Winchendon and Nicholas A. Lashua of Worcester; two sisters, Corinne Zawalski of Waterbury, Vt., Joyce Fendrick of Feura Bush, N.H. She had also lived in Eastham and Foxboro.
She was a retired assistant treasurer of the Orange Savings Bank.
She is survived by one daughter, Susan Green of Narragansett, R.I.; one son, Robert Oakes of St. Maarten, V.I; one sister, Phyllis Baker of Wellfleet, MA; two grandchidlren and three great - grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 12 at 3 p.m. at the Roberts & Sons Funeral Home, 30 South St., Foxboro. The Rev. Paul Sangree will officiate.
There are no calling hours.

McCorquodale Services
ROYALSTON - Services for Michael D. McCorquodale, 46, of 16 North Fitzwilliam Rd., were held Friday evening, Nov. 7, 2003, at the Athol - Orange Elks Club, with the Rev. Edward Boren, pastor of the North New Salem Congregational Church officiating.
Special music was done by Mark Bosworth, guitarist, Sandy Freeman and Debby Maciorowski, Michael's sisters and by Tim and Pat Sweeney. A video presentation was presented by Tom Lozier with the assistance of William Curtis, Jr. Many family and freinds shared memories of Michael.
Members of the Leblanc, Co. C. Berard, and Co. M. O'Neill. They also served as pallbearers and did a flag presentation to Mr. McCorquodale's wife and mother. The American flags were presented by Sgt. D. Brouillette. There were many fellow officers from NCCI - Massachusetts State Police, Royalston Police, Phillipston Police, Orange and the New Salem Police Departments.
The Higgins - O'Connor Funeral Home of Athol directed arrangements.
Thelma M. Divoll

BALDWINVILLE - Thelma M. Divoll, 87, of 99 Bridge St., Baldwinville, died Friday in The Leo P. Lachance Center in New York, Massachusetts Board of Registration in Embalming and Funeral Directing. He was the first board member to receive a Governor reappointment to the board for a third consecutive term. He was a founding member and first president of the Greater Worcester Funeral Director’s Association, was a member of and one time director of the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Research Center, 55 Fruit St. Boston, MA. 02114 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.

ORANGE - Services for Peter A. Coffin, 37, of Bondville, Vt., formerly of Orange, were held Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003 in the Higgins - O'Connor Funeral Home in Athol, with the Rev. Lois S. Buchiane, pastor of the Community Church of North Orange and Tully, officiating.
Private burial will be held at a later date.
Tatyana V. Marchant
Born in Vladivostok, Russia on Jan. 10, 1970
Departed on Jul. 22, 2004 and resided in Templeton, MA.
Tatyana "Tanya" V. (Tutubalina) Marchant, 34, of 200 Shady Lane, Templeton, died Thursday morning in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, University Campus in Worcester after a long battle with cancer.
She was born in Vladivostok, Russia on January 10, 1970 and moved to Templeton in August of 2000.
While in Russia Tanya was a very respected television journalist. She also wrote several books and published numerous articles in both newspapers and magazines. She received her degree in journalism from the Far Eastern University in Vladivostok.
She is survived by her husband Randolph "Randy" D. Marchant whom she wed October 7, 2000. She leaves one son, Aleksandr "Sasha" Tchernev of Templeton, her parents, Vitaly and Tatyana (Repena) Tutubalina of Vladivostok, her grandmother Valechka Repena of Vladivostok and her in - laws Paul and Gail (Hamilton) Lamoureux of Templeton.
It being her request, no funeral service is planned. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Aleksandr Tchernev Education Fund, c/o Banknorth, 90 Pearson Blvd, Gardner, MA 01440. GREENFIELD - Leatrice Ruth (Slonim) Kramer, 76, of Greenfield, died at home on Nov. 8, 2003 after a period of ill health.
Alvin M. Kowacki

ERVING, Mass. and BAREFOOT BAY, Fla. - Alvin Mieczyslaw Kowacki, died of injuries suffered in an auto accident Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, in Augusta, Ga. while visiting grandchildren with his wife, Rae A. (Lattinville) Kowacki.
He was born in Dolsk, Poland in 1930. His father and mother were Antoni and Genowefa Kowacki. In 1939, he was deported in freight cars to Siberia with his family, and when liberated by the United States, was moved to Kenya and South Africa without his family. In 1948 he was reunited with his mother and father in England until 1951 when he came to the United States. He worked in Detroit and Cleveland before joining the army for service during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge, he married Rae A. Lattinville and in 1953 they settled in Easthampton and Williamsburg, Mass. He worked as a felter for National Felt Company in Easthampton until 1968 when he and his wife moved their family to Erving and operated the Erving Country Store. Kowacki was hardworking and industrious, and started another business of servicing beer delivery systems in bars and restaurants from Leominster to Northampton.
Kowacki was well known as “the man in the chicken suit” when he worked along with the men and women of Saint Blanche’s church in Erving, doing chicken barbeque fund raisers in Erving center during foliage season in the 1970’s.
Out - going and active, during the 1980's and 1990's he and his wife traveled throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and Ireland visiting old friends and making many new friends. They became half - year residents of Barefoot Bay, Fla. in 1998, surrounded by old friends from New England and new friends from the community.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 50 years, Rae A. (Lattinville), his children: Dr. Paul Kowacki and wife Christine of Orange, Diane Bledsoe and husband Ralph of Andover, Dale Kowacki and wife Laura Botkin of Wendell, Jean Kowacki and her partner Ron of Englewood, Fla., Janet Richards of Franklin, daughter - in - law Alicin McGrath; his sister Lodcia Wrega and his brother - in - law Mitch Wrega of Easthampton, his sister - in - law and brother - in - law Linda and Joe Wojkowski of Athol; in addition to his nieces and nephews, he greatly enjoyed his 10 grandchildren and one and a half great - grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sons: Mark (1955), Thomas (1960), and Captain Lee V.Kowacki, US Army in 1997; and three brothers: Marion, Eugene and Stanley.
A memorial gathering will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 16, at the Erving Congregational Church. This gathering will be hosted by Alvin’s children, as Rae is staying in Florida. Alvin chose to be cremated so there will no burial service.
