ORANGE - Funeral services were held on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004 in Witty's Funeral Home for Thelma M. (Richardson) Barnes, 81, of 126 Prentiss St., who died on Tuesday, Jan. 27 in Athol Memorial Hospital.
The Rev. Edward T. Boren of the North New Salem Congregational Church officiated. Interment followed in South Cemetery, Orange. The pallbearers were Thom Barnes, David Barnes, Derek Bergquist, Nathaniel Barnes, Mike Gardner, Andrew Zbikowski, and Josh Barnes. A reception followed the committial service at the Athol - Orange Elks Lodge No. 1837.
Witty's Funeral Home directed the arrangements.

ATHOL - George A. Wesockes, 84, of 169 South Athol Rd., died on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004 at the University of Thompson of Athol; numerous nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by a son, Thomas and daughters, Patricia, and Jacqueline.
Funeral services will be held from the J. Edward Murphy Funeral Home,, 137 Main St., with a mass of Christian burial at St. Francis Church, 105 Main St., on Monday, Feb. 2, at 10 a.m. The Rev. Jamie Callahan will officiate. Interment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Monday, Feb. 2, from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. at the funeral home.

ATHOL - Genevieve J. (Cullen) Drouin, 82, of 128 Main Street, died Friday, January 30, 2004, at the Athol Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Medford, Jan. 5, 1922, graduating from Medford High School and a business school in Medford.
She grew up in Medford, later moving to Gardner, lived in South Royalston for 45 years, Phillipston and Orange for a short time, and for the past two years has resided in Athol. She and her husband wintered in Gardner and for The Winchendon School. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Church in So. Royalston. She enjoyed spending time with her family and dancing.
She leaves her husband of 60 years, John L. Drouin; two sons, John S. Drouin of Athol and Leon E. Drouin of Phillipston; nine grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 2, at 7 p.m. at Higgins - O’Connor Funeral Home, 146 Main St.
There will be a calling hour Monday from 6 to 7 p.m. Private burial will be at a later date and in lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the Athol Memorial Hospital, 2033 Main St., Athol, Mass. 01331.

ATHOL - Tena A. (Ambrozy) Dedinas, 85, of 5 Lombard Ave., died Friday, Jan. 30, 2004, in Quabbin Valley HealthCare, Athol, after a brief illness.
She was born in Athol, the daughter of Frank and Adella (Bolandz) Ambrozy.
Her husband of 63 years, Alex Dedinas, died in Sept. 2000.
She leaves a son, Richard and his wife Penny, of Athol; two daughters, Joan Dedinas of Athol and Marion Lamoureau and her husband David of Newburyport; one sister, Helen Mazialnik; four grandchildren; one great grandchild and four nephews and one niece.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Stanley Ambrose and William Ambrose who was killed in action during World War II.
Mrs. Dedinas worked at the former Ancin Shoe Shop. She was a member of St. Francis Church. She enjoyed being with her family and gardening.
The funeral mass of Christian burial will be at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 105 Main St., Monday, Feb. 2, at noon. The Rev. Stephen Johnson will officiate.
There are no calling hours. Interment will following Gethsemane Cemetery.

Sr. Saint Leona (Leona Fournier)
Professed 65 Years Of Religious Life
PETERSHAM - Sr. Saint Leona (Leona Fournier), 87, of the Sisters of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin on North Main Street, died Thursday morning, Jan. 29, 2004. She professed 65 years of religious life.
Born in Greenville, NH, Sr. Leona was the daughter of Arthur and Marie (Desrosiers) Fournier. She attended the Sacred Heart School in Greenville and received her BA degree in education from the Rivier College in Nashua, NH. Sr. Leona taught grades five through eight in parochial schools in Glens Falls and Hudson Falls, NY; Everett, Indian Orchard and Sancta Maria, Dracut, MA; Laconia and Greenville, NH; Bristol and Meriden, CT. She left teaching in 1987 and came to retire at the Assumption Residence where she managed the insurance claims office for 17 years.
Sr. Leona leaves several nieces and nephews, grand - nieces and grand - nephews. She leaves a cousin, Sr. Marie Claire Desrosiers, who also resides at Assumption Residence.
Calling hours at Assumption Residence are from 2 to 7 p.m. today. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 2 p.m. in the chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of the Assumption Retirement Fund, 211 North Main St., Petersham, 01366.
