NEW SALEM - Funeral services were held on Monday, Jan. 26, 2004 in Witty's Funeral Home, Orange, for Helen Ann (Marshall) Wetherby, 62, of 16 Lovers Lane, who died on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2004 at Athol Memorial Hospital after being stricken ill earlier at home. The Rev. Vance E. Frank officiated.
Interment followed in South Cemetery, Orange. The pallbearers were Brad Whitney, Michael Whitney, Rick MacLean, Adam MacLean, Mark Stein, Matthew Farrick, Leo Duguay, and Steve Crowingshield. A reception followed the committial service at the Athol - Orange Elks Club.
Witty's Funeral Home, Orange, directed the arrangements.
Manjourea Services
ATHOL - Funeral services for Robert A. Manjourea, Sr., 62, formerly of 200 East River St., Orange, who died Jan. 8 in Quabbin Valley Healthcare, were held Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004 in the J. Edward Murphy Funeral Home.
Reverend Dr. Lee Smith, of the Starrett Memorial Methodist Church, conducted the service.

PETERSHAM - Gabriel F. Recos Sr., 75, of Medford, N.Y. participating were Staff Sgt. Charles Scott and Pfc. Jeffrey Sharpe who folded the United States flag and presented it to Mrs. Miniuks. A color guard from the American Legion Post 172 in Orange was comprised of Bill Bacigalupo, Ed Bezio Sr., Ed Bezio Jr., Leo Barber, and Ray Fournier. Dick Tandy performed "Taps." A reception was held following the committal service in St. Mary's Parish Hall.

AGAWAM - Lillian L. Cellilli, 94, passed away Friday, Jan. 9, 2004.
Alice Robinson
ATHOL - Alice Robinson, 105, of 171 South Royalston Rd., died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004 at the Applewood Home for Elders.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of the J. Edward Murphy Funeral Home.
Albert A. Coolidge

PETERSHAM - Albert Amsden Coolidge, 85, of 2224 Ashlar Masonic Care, Wallingford, Conn., and formerly of Hebron, Conn., Barefoot Bay, Fla., and Petersham, died of declining health since January 2001, on Friday, Jan. 23, 2004 at the Masonic Geriatric Health Care Center in Wallingford.
He was born Dec. 17, 1918 in Petersham, the son of the late Horace Ober Sr. and Ruth Amsden Coolidge. He was a 1936 graduate of Petersham High School and a 1938 graduate of U.S. Diesel Engineering School in Boston.
Coolidge retired from Pratt & Whitney in 1975. He and his family moved to Hebron from Wethersfield in 1945. He was Deacon Emeritus, former choir member, Sunday School teacher and Men’s Fellowship President of the First Congregational Church of Hebron.
He also served as President of the Tolland Association United Church of Christ Layman’s Fellowship and represented same in N.Y., July 31, 1941, a daughter of William B. Marshall and Eleanor (Towne) (Marshall) Swan, she grew up in New Salem, attended New Salem Academy and lived in town most of her life.
She was New Salem Town Clerk and Tax Collector for 20 years and had been postmaster at the New Salem Community Post Office 25 years before retiring.
She served as New Salem Old Home Day coordinator for the variety show, parade and refreshments for many years. Skilled at cake decorating and sewing, she also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, dancing, hunting and fishing.
A former 4 - H Leader, she also often entertained her grandchildren with trips to area amusement parks and fairs.
She leaves her husband of 45 years, Douglas J. Wetherby; her father, William B. Marshall of Luray, Va.; a son, Clayten Wetherby and wife, Pauline of Athol; five daughters, Leisa Yurko and husband, Daniel of Orange, Kathreen MacLean and husband, Richard of Spencer, Rebecca Osowski and husband Edward of Erving; Melissa Campbell and husband, Hugh of Millers Falls, Nicole Poirier and husband, James of Orange; a brother, Spencer Marshall of Athol; four half brothers, George Swan, Jr. of Baltimore, Md., Dennis Swan of Worcester, Thomas Swan and John Swan both of New Salem; a half sister, Margaret Aguda of Orange; thirteen grandchildren, Brad and Michael Whitney, Adam and Rachel MacLean, Faith Stein, Sarah - Helen Wetherby, Amanda Farrick, Mathew and Alexander Osowski, Chirstopher and Timothy McMahon, Alicia and Breanna Poirier; two great grandchildren, Alexa Whitney and Isabelle Farrick; several nephews and nieces.
A funeral service will be held Monday, Jan. 26 at 11 a.m. in Witty's Funeral Home, 158 South Main St., Orange. The Rev. Vance E. Frank of Orange will officiate.
Burial will follow in South Cemetery, Orange.
Calling hours are from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25.

Karpowich Services
ATHOL - Funeral services for Amelia (Risatti) Karpowich, 86, of 821 Daniel Shays Hwy., who died Jan. 15, 2004 in the Athol Memorial Hospital, were held Tuesday, Jan. 20, in the J. Edward Murphy Funeral Home.
During the funeral service, Mrs. Karpowich's nephew, Bob Beasley, sang the hymn, “How Great Thou Art.”
