Donald J. McQuade

COLRAIN - Donald J. McQuade, 75, of 7 Main Rd., died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2004, at Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield.
He was born in Readsboro, Vt., May 25, 1928, the son of William J. and Mary Alice (Carroll) McQuade.
He was a 1946 graduate of Arms Academy in Shelburne Falls and a 1975 graduate of Holyoke Community College where he received an associates degree in criminal justice.
He was a World War II veteran.
Following the service he attended the former Miss Farmer's School of Cookery in Boston where he graduated in 1950. He was a seasonal chef of restaurants in Massachusetts Police Academy was the Oyster Harbors Club in Osterville.
He graduated from the Mass. Police Academy on Oct. 30, 1953. For 23 years he was stationed throughout Massachusetts State Troopers Association.
He married the former Joan C. Olson on May 2, 1964.
Besides his wife he leaves two sons, Kevin J. McQuade of Colrain and Mark J. McQuade and his wife of Suzanne of Clifton Park, N.H.; four sisters, Carol Giguere of Bellows Falls. Vt., Eleanor Wells of Marlboro, Louise Laird of Florida, Michael Boudreau of Warwick, Deneen Mastorakis of Belchertown, Kristen Thibaudeau of Leominster and LeAnn Chaisson of Fitchburg; 11 great - grandchildren; several nephews and nieces.
His son, Richard O. Chaisson, died in 1992.
A funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, Jan. 13, at 11 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 105 Main St. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Athol
Allen M. Sibley
Master Plumber
GREENFIELD - Allen M. Sibley Jr., 50, of 32 B Shirley Ln., Greenfield, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield.
He was born in Palmer on Aug. 12, 1953, the son of Allen and Barbara (Fortier) Sibley.
He attended Three Rivers Elementary Schools and graduated from Pioneer Valley Regional School, Northfield, in 1971. He was a member of the varsity football and baseball teams. He also attended Greenfield Community College.
He worked as a licensed master plumber and his career started while working in a family - owned business and later as an employee of the University of Maine; two sisters, Linda Balk, and her husband, Stewart, of Northfield; and Melonee Smith, and her companion, Christopher Stowell, of York, Parker Ave., Northfield. Stewart Balk, branch president of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter - Day Saints, will officiate. Burial will follow in West Northfield Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, Jan. 13 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Hazel L. Killay
Preschool Teacher
DOVER, Del. - Hazel L. Killay, 81, of Dover, and formerly of Athol, died Jan. 8, 2004.
Born in Athol, the daughter of the late John A. and Alice (Lincoln) Blakie.
She had lived in Dover since 1963 and had been a preschool teacher until retiring in 1982.
A dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, she spent her quiet moments as an aspiring artist.
She was predeceased by her husband James H. Killay in 1997.
She is survived by a son, John J. Killay of Hooksett, N.H.; three daughters, Kathleen M. Killay, Patricia K. Kavanaugh and Margaret E. Killay, all of Chevy Chase, Md.; two grandchildren James R. Kavanaugh of Chevy Chase and Shauna Lee Killay of Hooksett, and a brother, Edward Blakie of Athol.
Graveside services will be held today at 11 a.m. in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dover.

Sean R. Manjourea
ATHOL - Funeral services for Sean R. Manjourea, 17, who died Jan. 5, 2004, in Athol Memorial Hospital, were held Friday, Jan. 9, in the Starrett Memorial Methodist Church with Reverend Dr. Lee Smith officiating.
The church was filled with family, friends, and fellow students.
The organist was Donald Ainsworth.
Bearers were Mike Mitchell, Dan Manjourea, Tal Cox, Dave Cox, John Cox, Josh Cox.
A graveside service will be held at a later date.
The J. Edward Murphy Funeral Home directed arrangements.

NEW SALEM - A survivor of Lillian V. Miller, 93, who died Friday, Jan. 9, 2004 in Athol Memorial Hospital, is a sister, Violet Anderson of Warwick, and not Viola Anderson as previously reported.
