He was born June 19, 1945, in Fitchburg, the son of Paul E. and Florence R. (Percival) Barber, and had lived here most of his life. Mr. Barber was a papermaker for many years at Custom Papers Co.

SHREWSBURY - William F. Depew, 53, of 114 Holden St., formerly of 9 Dogwood Drive, Townsend, died Sunday, Dec. 9, in UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus, Worcester. He was born Feb. 17, 1948, in Baltimore, the son of James and Barbara Depew, and had lived many years in Townsend before moving to Shrewsbury.

LANESBORO - Phyllis Elaine (Holden) Deneault, 80, of 504 Summer St., formerly of Ayer, Milton, and Leominster, died Friday, March 29, in Berkshire Medical Center. She was born April 17, 1921, in Wolfeboro, N.H.) High School and graduated in 1939.

WINCHENDON - A graveside service for Alice Mary Racine, 98, formerly of 35A Laurie Drive, Leominster, who died Jan. 22 in HealthAlliance The Highlands, Fitchburg, will be held Wednesday at noon in Calvary Cemetery. M.A. Simard & Son Funeral Home, 14 Walker St., Leominster, is directing arrangements.

WINCHENDON - Christy A. (Murphy) Woodward, 57, of 53 Spruce St., died at home Thursday, March 28, after a long illness. She was born in Winchendon, the daughter of Francis R. and Frances M. (Higgins) Murphy. Mrs. Woodward was a salesclerk at To Each His Own Design, retiring in 2000. She was a member of Cornerstone Church.

WOODSTOCK, Ga. - James R. Martin, 55, of Woodstock, formerly of 64 Bacon St., Westminster, Mass., and 1109 Pearl Hill Road, Fitchburg, Mass., died Feb. 22 in Florida in 1970. He attended the former St. John's Grammar School in Fitchburg.

(Lane) Postel, 63, a resident of Clark Manor Health Care Center, 1350 Main St., formerly of 15 Winthrop Ave., Ayer, and Leominster, died Sunday afternoon, March 31, in the health - care center, after a long illness. She was born Aug. 16, 1938, in Leominster, the daughter of Howard B. and Elizabeth A. (Riley) Lane.

FITCHBURG - Lewis E. Rafuse, 89, of 48 Richardson Drive, died Sunday, March 31, in HealthAlliance Hospital/Leominster. He was born Dec. 14, 1912, in Fitchburg, the son of Sidney R. and Laura M. (Ouimette) Rafuse, and had lived here nearly all his life. He graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1931.

He was born Jan. 4, 1921, in Gardner, the son of Oscar R. and Jennie M. (Lind) Anderholm.
