John M. Paparazzi Sr.
Veteran, Shop Owner
ERVING - John M. Paparazzi, Sr, 81, of Mountain Rd., died Friday, Nov. 14, 2003 unexpectedly in his home after being stricken ill.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, on Nov. 20, 1921, a son of Frank and Rapheal (Napadano) Paparazzi, he grew up in Brooklyn and lived there many years.
A United States Army Veteran of World War II, he served in the European African Middle Eastern Theatre with the 756th Bomb Squad. He was awarded the European Campaign Medal and Ribbon with a Silver and two Bronze Service Stars., World War II Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Distinguished Unit Service Badge and American Campaign Medal.
He moved from Long Island to Northfield in 1968 where he and his wife operated a general store and antique shop, later coming to Erving in 1986. While living in New York City; a brother, Dominick Paparazzi of Inverness, Fla.; a sister, Rose Giordano of Stoneham; several nephews and nieces.
At his request there are no funeral services.
Witty's Funeral Home, Orange, is directing the arrangements. A guest register is available at www.wittyfuneralhome.com.

Nelson Services
NEW SALEM - Graveside services were held on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2003 in the North New Salem Cemetery for Robert E. Nelson, 85, of 222 North Main St., who passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003 at the Quabbin Valley Healthcare in Athol. The Rev. Stanley Dahlman of Northfield officiated. John "Spider" Smith, Department Surgeon of the American Legion Department of Massachusetts Memorial Healthcare - Campus, in Worcester following an illness.
The Rev. Fr. William Lunney officiated. Readings were offered by Peg Stevenson. The organist was Janet Paoletti and Theresa Bergquist was the Cantor.
Interment is private.
The pallbearers were Matthew Hozempa, Joe Hozempa, Joshua Hozempa, Ray Hozempa, Sean Hozempa, and Michael Harcaz.
A reception was held after the Mass at the Wheelerville Community Club.
Witty's Funeral Home, Orange, directed the arrangements.

Lewis Services
LEVERETT - Graveside services were held on Saturday, April 24, 2004 in the Plainview Cemetery for Gardner E. McPherson
Business Owner
GARDNER - N.H., on Dec. 27, 1931, he was the son of Norman and Sylvia (Mabey) McPherson.
He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was a self - employed auctioneer for several years until his retirement in 1979. Prior to that he owned and operated Mack Used Furniture on Chestnut Street in Gardner.
Mr. McPherson was a member of the Chestnut Street Methodist Church. He attended the Worcester Trade School and Saxton Trade of Leominster.
He leaves his wife of 51 years, Patricia (Ducharme) McPherson of Gardner.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St. Burial will be in the Leblanc, Chris Rushford and Jon Dian.
Fiske Funeral Home directed arrangements.
