NORTHBRIDGE, Calif., after a brief illness.
She was a graduate of Athol High School, class of 1950. After leaving Athol she moved to California where she worked at Southern Calif., and Gregory Hughson of Canyon Country, Calif., and Elizabeth Hughson - Richardson of Tracy, Calif.; a brother Frank Donelan of Natick; sisters Rosemary Donelan of Centerville and Maryellen Lacroix of Osterville; sisters - in - law Madeline Donelan, Eileen Donelan, and Mary Pat Donelan; fifteen grandchildren, and five great - grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her son, Jeffrey Hughson.
A funeral Mass was held last Saturday at St. John Eudes Catholic Church in Northridge, where she was a communicant.
Arnold A. Drew Jr.
World War II Veteran
AMHERST - Arnold A. Drew Jr., 80, of 15 Summer St., died Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at home.
He was born in Greenfield on Jan. 9, 1924, son of Alice (Darvitt) and Arnold A. Drew Sr.
He attended Athol schools and graduated from Athol High School and the former Northampton Commercial College. In high school, he was a member of the football team and captain of the basketball team.
Drew enlisted in the Army Air Force and served during World War II with the 436th Bombardment Squadron in India.
He was employed by Western Mass. Electric Co. for 30 years in the distribution department and as a sales representative.
He was a life member of the Earl Sanders VFW and was past president of the Amherst Lions Club and a member of the College Town Twirlers of Amherst.
He was an avid golfer and a member of the U.S. Golf Association.
He married Dorothy Greene on Jan. 15, 1949 in Greenfield. The early part of their married life was spent in Greenfield. They moved to Amherst in 1958.
Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Douglas O. Drew and his wife Andrea of Greenfield; two daughters, Eve D. Drew Kenyon and her husband Michael of Beaverton, Ore., and Tracy Drew Anzaldi and her husband Wayne of Orange; a sister, Marguerite Driscoll of Danvers; five grandchildren; three great - grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Private graveside services will be in Green River Cemetery in Greenfield.

Robert T. Peterson Jr.
Lifelong Athol Resident
ATHOL - Robert T. Peterson Jr., 66, of 2320 South Athol Rd., died Monday, July 26, 2004, at the Athol Memorial Hospital following an illness.
He was born on Nov. 11, 1937 in Athol, son of Robert T. and Mary (Doe) Peterson, and was a lifelong resident of Athol.
He was a graduate of Athol High School. He served in the United States Navy from 1955 - 1958. He was a self - employed caterer.
He was a member of Our Lady Immaculate Church, Athol. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, woodworking, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Lori A. (Hunt) Peterson; a son, Robert T. Peterson IV; three daughters, Amber Marion, Amanda Marion, and Andrea Peterson, all of Athol; two step - sons, Roger Wrigley of Phillipston and Frank Wrigley of Orlando, Fla.; a step - daughter, Angela Wrigley of Orlando; a sister, Robert Newcomb of Petersham, and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 30, from the J. Edward Murphy Funeral Home, 137 Main St., followed by a 10 a.m. Mass at Our Lady of the Immaculate Church. Following cremation, burial will be in Silver Lake Cemetery.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Thursdaym July 29, from 4 to 7 p.m.

John F. Hamilton

ATHOL - John F. Hamilton of Metairie, La., died June 28, 2004.
He was a graduate of Athol High School and Baypath College.
He worked locally for L.S. Starrett Company and other companies and at one time was owner of the Paige's Hardware Store on Main Street.
He was a Past Exalted Ruler of the Athol - Orange Elks Lodge and a member of American Legion Post 102.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the 327th Counter Intelligence Corps Detachment. He was awarded the Bronze Star for the D - Day landing in August, 1944 in southern France at St. Tropez. Assigned to the CIC Detachment with the 3rd Infantry Division, he ended up by accident in the fourth assault wave. After the landing when the 3rd Division took Besancon, with the French FFI, he greeted the troops at the City Gates a little early. The Bronze Star resulted from his courage and action on the D - Day landing, the Croix de Guerre for his action with FFI and 3rd Division up through the Rhone Valley.
He is survived by a son, Jonathon Hamilton, 1159 Park St., Ashland, Ore. 97520.
Following cremation burial was in Silver Lake Cemetery on July 23.

Phyllis Haskins
Native Of Athol
ATHOL - Phyllis (Carlson) Haskins, 88, of 14 Jeri Dr.,formerly of 739 Daniel Shays Hwy., died Monday, July 26, 2004 in her residence following a brief illness.
She was born in Athol on Sept. 29, 1915, a daughter of Carl S. and Helen Lee (Brewer) Carlson.
Her husband, Ernest W. Haskins Jr., whom she married on Sept. 30, 1939 died in 1999.
She lived in Norwell for 20 years and Killingworth, Conn. for 20 years before relocating to Athol for the past 48 years. She was a 1934 graduate of Athol High School and a graduate of the former Lasell, Kendall Hall in Wellesley.
She is survived by a son, Eric W. Haskins of Norwell; a sister, Elizabeth Marsh of Petersham; five grandchildren and eight great - grandchildren.
A son, Jon C. Haskins of Norwell, died in 2000.
At Mrs. Haskins request there will be no funeral service. There are no calling hours.
Following cremation burial will be in Quabbin Park Cemetery, Ware. Please omit flowers.
Donations may be made in Mrs. Haskins' memory to the Athol Memorial Hospital, 2033 Main St., Athol, MA 01331.
