ATHOL - Kerry Sidney Grant, 57, of Autumn Road, Hillsboro, N.H.
He was born in Greenfield on Oct. 2, 1946, the son of Edward S. and Betty (Pratt) Grant. He attended schools in Athol, and Salem Academy, in Salem. He worked for the Athol Table Manufacturing Co. Inc., the J.F. McElwain Shoe Company, and the Eastern Furniture Company, all in Athol. He retired in 1973, due to disability. He moved to Hillsboro in 1976 and had lived there since.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Louise (Wheeler) Grant of Hillsboro; two daughters, Cindy A. Mundy of Deering, N.H.; his mother, Mrs. Betty (Pratt) Lawton of Athol; three step - brothers, David Lawton of N.H. with the Rev. Wesley Bixby officiating.
Burial will be in the Harvey Memorial Cemetery, Hillsboro.
Memorial donations may be made to the N.H., June 3, 1924, a son of Roger and Susan (Groudle) Hoke, he was one of five children. He grew up in Athol and attended Athol schools.
He worked at the former Anson Shoe Shop briefly before being drafted into the United States Army during World War Two. He served in England at the 232nd Station Hospital as an officers cook until his discharge in 1946.
After his marriage in 1952, he moved to Westerly, R.I. where he resided until returning to Athol in 1990.
He was a textile worker many years in the Westerly area prior to retiring.
His wife, Reita P.(Moore) Hoke, died in 1983.
He leaves a sister, Leona Jarvi of Athol; a nephew, Walter Jarvi of Athol and a niece, Donna McCoy of Orange.
A graveside service will be held Monday, July 12, at 11 a.m. in South Cemetery, Orange.

ATHOL - Andrew Zuidema, 93, of 2 Abbe Lane in Nashua, N.H.; Lorraine M. Desmarais; Patricia A. Brannen and her husband, Scott, of Goffstown, N.H., and Mark S. Desmarais and his wife, Lori, of Dunbarton, N.H.; nine great - grandchildren, Cynthia, Patrick and Brendan Keenan, Zachary and Zoe Desmarais, Shelby Spencer, Bryce Desmarais, Jackson and Olivia Brannen; two brothers, Peter Zuidema and his wife, Fabiola, of Auburn, and Albert Zuidema of Springfield, VA; a sister, Shirley Kmiotek and her husband, Joseph, of Northbridge; a brother - in - law, Benney Rustausky and is wife, Janet, of Orange; a sister - in - law, Angelina Zuidema of Athol; and close friends, Ellen Steiner of Phillipston, and Leo Godin of Orange; also several nephews, nieces and cousins.
A grave side service will be held at the family lot in Gethsemane Cemetery in Athol on Saturday, July 10, at 1 p.m. Friends are invited to attend. Those wishing to express their sympathy may make donations in his memory to the American Legion Post No. 102, Exchange Street, Athol, MA 01331.

Kavaliunas Services
ATHOL - Funeral services for Joseph J. Kavaliunas, 94, of 636 Daniel Shays Hwy., who died Wednesday, June 30, were held Tuesday, July 6, 2004.
Reverend James Callahan, Associate Pastor, celebrated the funeral Mass at the St. Francis of Assisi Church. Theresa Gabis was the organist and cantor. The gifts were brought forward by his close friends, Maureen Maselli and Roberta Landry.
Burial followed at Gethsemane Cemetery, The bearers were, Randy Balchuinas, William Wisnauskas, Henry Gailiunas, and Gediminas Penney.

Donald E. Emerson
U.S. Army Veteran
SHELBURNE FALLS - Donald E. Emerson, 71, of 106 Bridge St., died Monday, July 5, 2004 at the Poet's Seat Nursing Hone in Greenfield.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict from 1950 to 1953.

ATHOL - Funeral services for Marc A. Fortin, 86, of 158 Walnut St., were held Tuesday, July 6, 2004, with a Mass of Christian Burial in the Our Lady Immaculate Church. The celebrant was Rev. Stephen D. Johnson. Theresa Gabis was the organist.
Burial was in Silver Lake Cemetery. The bearers were Shawn Fortin, Kyle Cutter, Marc Duguay, John Duguay and Blaise M. Blankenship.
Fiske Funeral Home directed arrangements.
Marc A. Fortin
World War II Veteran
ATHOL - Marc A. Fortin, 86, of 158 Walnut St., died Friday, July 2, 2004, at Quabbin Valley Healthcare.
He was born May 2, 1918, in St. Justing, Quebec, Canada, son of Omer and Adele (Tanguay) Fortin and lived most of his life in Athol.
He served in the United States Army during World War II.
He was a supervisor for New England Power Service Company for 35 years, retiring in 1980.
After his retirement, he and his wife, Alice J. (Duguay) Fortin, spent 18 years in the winter in Port Charlotte, Fla.
He was a member of American Legion Post 110 of Port Charlotte, Fla. and the VFW Post Roy L. Boyce Post. He was a life member of the Athol - Orange Lodge of Elks 1837.
He enjoyed gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years; two sons, Michael W. Fortin of Greenfield and Gerard P. Fortin of Athol; a daughter, Andrea M. Blankenship of Athol; a sister, Rose - Ann Noel of Mystic, Conn.; eight grandchildren; five great - grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by five brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 6, with a Mass at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Immaculate Church. burial will be in Silver Lake Cemetery.
