ORANGE - Girard J. Robichaud, 79 of 605 East River St., Orange, died Thursday, June 17, 2004, at home. He was born in Athol, MA, on August 22, 1924, the son of the late Silver and Theotise (Mallet) Robichaud. He grew up in Athol and attended schools in Athol.
Mr. Robichaud received his G.E.D. He was an Inspector, employed by Union Twist Drill for 42 years. He also worked for Athol Table and as an ombudsman.
Mr. Robichaud was a member of Athol - Orange Lodge Of Elks 1837.
He leaves one son, Charles G. Robichaud and his wife Patricia of Marlboro; two sisters, Stella Roy and her husband Ernest of Texas; Adrina Chamberlain of Athol; Celeste Largesse of Orange; a step Son, Martin Blake of Adams; 18 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and two great - great grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by his wife of 24 years, Marie Theresa (Marcoux) Robichaud who died in 1996, by four brothers, Leo Robichaud, Albert Robichaud, Arthur Robichaud, Wilfred Robichaud, and by one sister, Loza Chartier. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 21, at 11 a.m. at the J. Edward Murphy Funeral Home, 137 Main St., Athol.
Burial will follow in South Cemetery, Orange.
Calling hours will be held Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to Athol Memorial Hospital, 2033 Main St., Athol, Mass. 01331

GREENFIELD - Norma S. J. (Aspgren) Johnson, 87, of 51 Hospital Rd., Baldwinville, and formerly of Greenfield area, went to be with her beloved husband, Walter, on June 16, 2004.
Born in Roy, New Mexico on May 11, 1917, she was a daughter of Oscar and Vendle (Larsen) Aspgren and grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
She and Walter lived in Amarillo, Massachusetts to spend their remaining happy years. Walter died in 1998.
While in California. An avid reader, she also enjoyed painting, bird watching, and took a special interest in children.
She is sadly missed by her daughter, Sheryll Kenney and her partner Ronald Matthews of Athol and a son, Dana Johnson and his wife, Ann, of Santa Rosa, Florida for 25 years.
She was a member of the Ellinwood Country Club and besides golfing she enjoyed reading, and being with her great grandchildren.
She leaves her husband of 58 years, Franklin J. “Porky” LaCoste; a son, Larry F. LaCoste and his wife Brenda; a daughter, Caryl A. Thurber and her husband Bob, all of Athol; five grandchildren, Kevin LaCoste and his wife Alison of Methuen, Lori LaCoste of Athol, Becky Jillson and her husband John of Athol, Jeremy Thurber and his wife Mikaela of Hubbardston, Tim Thurber of Nashville, Tenn.; four great - grandchildren, Cailin, Callie and Crista Jillson all of Athol and Bryce Thurber of Hubbardston; a brother, Larry Lawson of Dover, Del.; four sisters, Dottie McIntosh and Shirley Castle both of Orange, Margie Cook of Andover, Betty Chenausky of Gardner and Ann Boise of Winchendon; three brothers, Norman Robichaud and his wife Becky of Athol, Ray Robichaud and his wife Dot of Athol, Edward Robichaud and his wife Clementine of Renton, Wa.; four step daughter's, Irene Darling and her husband David of Almont, MI; Lorraine Wigal and her husband Glen of Texas for many years before moving to California, she had been a Sunday School teacher and had survived the 1989 earthquake in Calif.; grandchildren, Meagan Kenney, Mylah Kenney, Emma Kenney, Holly Matthews, and Heather Matthews; a great granddaughter, Madison Sund; a sister in law, Elsa Clifford of Phillipston; and her many friends of the Baldwinville Nursing Home.
She was predeceased by six siblings.
A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, June 20, 2004 at 5 p.m. in the Phillipston Congregational Church on the common in Phillipston.
Private interment will be in Beaver Meadow Cemetery, Leyden.
There are no calling hours.

ORANGE - Graveside services were held on Thursday, June 17, 2004 in South Cemetery, for Bernice G. (Lundgren) Gibbs, 82, formerly of Hayden Street, who died on June 9, 2004 at the Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner, after an illness. Rev. Candi Ashenden officiated.
